  1. Smaller team.

“When you play against the smaller teams at Anfield you know the game will be narrow and compact and at times we were a little bit nervous”

Though I guess that's still pouring petrol onto the flames for clubs and managers with sizeable inferiority complexes, not to mention a press that never knowingly cared much for accuracy.

I can still remember going into work the next day to do some overtime. First thing said to me by a blue was "he was out of order saying that". I just nodded, smiled politely and agreed. Inside I was pissing myself laughing. It was too early on a Sunday morning to be arguing

  2. I think you will find that Rafa was far from respectful with his "Small Club" comments-and that certainly fanned the anger.

As I said ,there is several reasons, and several incidents over the years that have contributed to the situation we have today. Needless to say, having many dickheads supporting both clubs, and social media giving those dickheads a voice hasn't helped.

    He said "smaller club"

And he was right. No matter what way you look at it, Everton are a smaller club than Liverpool

  3. Just watched 'Grimsby' with Sacha Baron-Cohen & Mark Strong. Like most SBC films it is very patchy with some laugh out loud moments. Not sure Grimsby residents will be thrilled with the representation of their town. 6/10.

I thought this was hilarious in a low brow, terrible taste way. Had the film been called 'Liverpool' I wouldn't have felt the same way!

  4. You're right. The BBC and Channel 4 used to have really good themed seasons of classic films. It's where I saw most of the greats for the first time including those you mention above.

I also used to love Moviedrome on Sunday nights with indie movies introduced by Alex Cox.

Moviedrome was great until they replaced Cox with that annoying Irish bloke

  5. In a way you have to be encouraged that the media think we dropped 2 points against a team that had £250m spent on it this summer alone. It's a pity that the general public will lap this shit up as some kind of masterstroke against the odds by their manager.

We seem to be getting a lot of stick from the media this morning, like it was our fault the game was boring
