With all due respect, I'll go with the professional pollsters over your anecdotal evidence. There's a reason that market research is a very lucrative industry, and it isn't because it just makes it up as it goes along.

Stu I've lived in the US for my whole life, I would say that 50% is probably inaccurate by 5% or more, and it certainly is geographically related. For example, there aren't a lot of people that I've come in contact with in the PNW that are like that.

Mine doesn't give a true picture because I'm temporarily having to use my old modem and that limits my max speed to 4 Mb/s. I've got a 20Mb line and when not using old hardware I get pretty much every drop of it, all the time.

 

Oh and TSO, I feel your pain - that takes me back to the days of dialup and losing downloads I'd had in progress for three hours because some fucker picked the phone up downstairs.
