  1. Llorente- January sale ruled out

    Aguero- Are you dreaming?

    Carroll- New Castle will not sell.

    Benzema- preferred by Jose these days, their president went to Lyon to convince him to stay at the club.

    Suarez- Cunt

    Not much we can do right now. If Roy has his way we will get Carlton Cole or Johan Elmander.

    Well Charlton Cole it is then.

  2. Just on SSN apparently Mark Gannis has said that they have completely abandoned the bid but may be interested in buying another english club, and CIC were not part of the bid

    From a lad on YNWA..

    Withdrawal is genuine. Ganis has just confirmed it is final and said that they will buy another Premier League club instead. Report there are strong indications they are opening negotiations with Everton. :no

  3. I don't buy this "buying the best players in the world", "bidding for Messi", "unlimited funds" stuff - thats just sensationalist bullshit. If this fella is backed by CIC or a similar fund, you're not talking about a 'rich man's toy' scenario. They'll be investing with the expectation to make money, just in the long term unlike the LBO parasites. It'd be a case of looking at the shit we're in right now, and weighing up the price vs opportunity of unlocking earning potential of the club in the long term based on a successful team in a new modern stadium with sponsorship agreements and the chinese market to mine for new opportunities. That's why they're playing hardball on the valuation, because at the price being quoted the growth potential makes it a solid long-term investment. At the parasite's valuation, that equation probably wouldn't work out.

    They'd be prepared to make necessary short-term investment in the squad needed to get us back on a competitive footing (because being successful is vital to the future economic potential of the club), and medium-term investment in the stadium in order to realize the long-term growth potential in the value of the club as an asset -- which would make our operations self-sustaining, revenue allowing for reinvestment in the squad without continuous injections of capital while the book value of the fund's asset grows. These wealth funds are measured primarily by the value of the assets they control (not cash flow), so you wouldn't see owners throwing hundreds of millions at the club just to see trophies pile up. The maths would have to work for a far eastern group, unlike the vanity projects other clubs have gone through.

    People prepared to take the long-term view of a club in our precarious situation with the money to follow it through are a rare commodity. The hope is that we'll end up in a situation where our best interests and the interests of the buyer align... Bloody hope so, because we're not likely to get another chance.

    The above is all, of course, pure speculation, and I don't know shit.

    Fair enough i'll have some of that but Messi would be a nice sweetner:whistle:.

  4. As well as being pretty shite McGeady is also an absolute knob - regularly makes a tit of himself on nights out in Glasgow. Pointless thread anyway, we're not signing him. The only SPL player I'd like to see us sign is James McArthur of Hamilton Accies, he'll be a class player in a few years - looks like he's going to join his ex-Accies mate McCarthy at Wigan though.

    How do you rate that Wilson lad from Rangers.

  5.

    My alter-ego however was massively impressed by Connor Wickham in the recent U-17's UEFA tourney( The nearest thing I've seen to Shearer since Alan was a teenager ) & if money was available I would buy him for £6/7m or so & loan him back to Ipswich for a year for further seasoning.

    Connor Wickham...

    A Liverpool fan whose role model is Fernando Torres, Wickham spent four years on Reading’s books, living in Aldershot, before his father’s job in the Army led them to Colchester and trials with Ipswich. He made sure he studied sufficiently hard to gain eight A-C grade GCSEs before leaving Philip Morant School last summer.

    “He’s a very level-headed young man,” Peacock said. “I think he’s at the right club and Roy’s done a really good job with him, steadily developing him. He’s a goalscorer but he’s matured a lot in his build-up play.

    “Physically he’s a real specimen of a young man so it’s no surprise he’s dealing with the physical demands of Championship football. He’s had a lot of accolades this year but he’s dealt with it all in a very mature manner. Within this peer group, he’s just one of the 18. That can only be of benefit to the team.”

    Well at least he is a Red thats a start.

    The signings of Shelvey and Sterling have to be a bonus as they are probally two of the best young English player's around and they are already on board.

    I think Tom Cairney (Hull City) and James McCarthy (Wigan) were two of the best young British midfielder's in the EPL last season.And Wilson (Rangers) and Kelly could be our future centre back partnership for years to come.

    If we are to sign British player's i would stick to signing player's to form our back-bone and bring in foreigner's for there flair.

  6. I'm not too sure about that. You look at the stuff coming out about the new kit breaking sales records etc at the end of a season where we've been absolutely fucking dreadful.

    And you believe anything coming out of the club at the moment.

  7. Don't know which is saddest, the fact you are saying that or the fact you actually believe it.

    Rafa has left the mess???? GTF.

    "he saw fit to replace better players with shite ones"...... he saw fit did he? so he sold Alonso - on the promise incidentally that he would get that money to spend. Go back to the press conference when we signed Johnson "we have the funds to buy another player" that was before Alonso went. Alonso goes for £30m (tripled the value of a player you had never heard of) and the owners then tell him..... you can replace him and we know Madrid have paid up front but a) you have to find somebody paid for on the drip and b) if you can get somebody from a team who owes us money that would be great, help cash-flow you see.... so who in the whole of World football could we buy? go on, name one player we could have bought who would have come here.....go on, one.

    "Everton have a squad almost as strong as us"...... do they? Ok, so which of their players would you take over ours? Arteta maybe. The real embarrassing thing is that they will sell Pienaar with a year on his contract for £12m whilst we'll sell Benayoun with 3 years left for £6m.... that is one area where Everton are streets ahead of Liverpool. If Everton had had Arbeloa they'd have got £12m out of Madrid not £2m.

    "Rafa has left a mess behind".... he has but its not his mess. And some of our "fans" think Roy Hodgson, Mark Hughes, SGE or Dalglish will clear it up. Give me one fucking reason why any of those people will be able to see Mascherano leave, Torres leave, and with £12m to replace them.... (on the drip... and if we could get a replacement from Moscow it would help cash-flow as they've not paid for Voronin yet)..... and take us back to a title challenge. One reason.

    Sacking Rafa was laughably bad, one of the stupidest fucked up things this club has done. Beaten only by Moores & Parry selling to those two. We paid £6m for our Manager to go to the European Champions. WE PAID. WE PAID. Read it again, WE PAID to give our Manager to the European Champions.... and people come on here saying Benitez deserved to go. Are you Christian Purslow?

    This Summer....

    We will have paid another team to take our Manager, who has us in a position where we think we have a God given right to not only be in the Champions League, but win the bloody thing too;

    We will lose our best players to pay down somebody else's debt;

    We'll appoint a replacement who will be so bewildered that Liverpool FC are even considering them for the job they'll bite our hands off;

    We'll pay 7% more for having the pleasure of meeting somebody else's costs;

    We'll be able to attract players of the calibre of Kevin Davies to replace Fernando Torres - and have the ignomony of being pleased he doesn't celebrate scoring against us for fucking Chelsea;

    We'll still be reading posts from retards who think its all the Manager's fault;

    We'll have the Winter to look forward too when the same retards post on here that Dalglish/Hodgson/Hughes is a bastard for replacing Torres with Davies and what a dickhead he is, get him sacked now, he deserves to go;

    We'll see us get humiliated in our opening game v Arsenal;

    And knowing all that, some people gather up the energy to type away that Rafa has left us in a mess :wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt:

    Rant over

    Good post but your wall butt is all you'll get on here.Its a pity the majority on here didn't have the same agenda against the owners like they had against Rafa.

  8. The club is rotten to the core and while twit and twat own us we are in decline.So we want to get rid of the only piece of glue holding us together.We get rid of Rafa we'll get a yes man who will except a transfer budget of nil.But he'll be fresh to rally the troops and get the enthusiasm going again.We are completly fucked.

  10. Hicks and Gillett set to sell quarter share of Liverpool - MirrorFootball.co.uk

    Liverpool's American owners are ready to put up to 25 per cent of the club up for sale to raise £100m that can be used to build a new stadium.

    Investment experts Merrill Lynch have been appointed to explore ways in which the Anfield club can raise funds to help cut the debt and get the stadium project off the ground.

    They have been told to go to potential investors in the Middle East to offer a quarter stake in the club, or even raise a new share issue to bring funds in Liverpool.

    Owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett want to retain overall control at Anfield, but after announcing a new £80million shirt sponsorship deal with Standard Chartered Bank, they now want to move swiftly on the stadium project which has been mothballed for the past two years.
