Makes you wonder, given we were coming off the back of cold and flu season, how so many managed to catch, and die from, Covid prior to the vaccines.

Is this supposed to be sarcastic?

    No. It doesn't.

Johns Hopkins Research on Natural Immunity for COVID-19 and COVID Vaccines

Johns Hopkins has conducted a large study on natural immunity that shows antibody levels against COVID-19 coronavirus stay higher for a longer time in people who were infected by the virus and then were fully vaccinated with mRNA COVID-19 vaccines compared with those who only got immunized. (The results of the study were published in a letter to the Journal of the American Medical Association on Nov. 1, 2021.)

The data show that one month after they got their second shot, participants who had had COVID-19 more than 90 days before their first shot had adjusted antibody levels higher than those who had been exposed to the coronavirus more recently than 90 days. Three months after the second coronavirus vaccine, the antibody levels were even higher: 13% higher than those who were exposed to the virus less than or equal to the 90-day mark.

These study results suggest that natural immunity may increase the protection of the shots when there is a longer time period between having COVID-19 and getting vaccinated.

When it is scientifically proven that a cold can offer cross-immunity against Covid, what makes you think that Covid itself cannot?

He hasn't got 'natural immunity'. Nobody has.

Prior infection does give you a level of immunity. Many scientific paper suggest it is actually stronger (particularly against new variants) than vaccination is. Also, the other four coronavirus which cause the common cold also offer levels of immunity.

Just been told that a young lad in my eldest son’s class at school has tested positive for a second time, less than two months apart. So has the lad’s older brother.

Assume they had the Delta, then now the latest variant.

Both are well, and is/were symptomatic both times. But a ballache to have it twice about 7/8 weeks apart.

My nephew has tested positive on a PCR (post travel) but negative on an LFT. I wonder if it's just the old infection showing up, as he feels 100%.

If they are both bona fide cases within such a short time I think it's probably very rare.

But I have an autoimmune disease, being treated with immunosuppressant meds.

It’s a quandary alright. I’ll probably get the booster if we’re still doing them, but I think this has bought me a couple of months to wait and and see where the science goes next.

If you've had it and been fine, you're likely (although not definitively) to respond with stronger reaction to it next time. As will everybody else.

According to an article in the BMJ, I’m now immune from Covid for at least five months, if not longer. So if that’s true and provided I still wear a mask, etc, there’s no need for me to make a decision on the Booster until early June, right?

I wonder where we’ll be at with this virus by then.

I didn’t get around to getting a booster and now I’ve got/had Covid I’m not sure when I will.

Couple of things - I had the OxfordAZ jab months and months ago. It’s worn off, I get that. Why has that vaccine disappeared completely? Does it even exist now?

And this mRNA stuff. Honestly, the more I hear, the more it puts me off. Everyone I know who had the AZ jab reacted badly to the Moderna one.

How long does my natural immunity last until I’m susceptible to catching Covid again?

The latest studies show that although antibodies fade, t-cell immuno repsonses remain in place long term. So you immune system won't stop the burglar getting into your house, but it will chase the fucker around your house twatting it with a bat.

What do you mean by "a social credit system" and why would any government that wants to introduce it need a programme of vaccinations?

I'm not into the government setting a prescedent on having huge controls of individual liberties.

I don't get this "what happens when you have to have a 4th or 5th jab?" either. Well, I guess I'll use up a few hours of my time this year and go get them. Perhaps whilst I'm in the queue I'll think about where I fancy going on holiday.

Which sees the creation of a sociak credit system. But you're alright, Jack, so no need to worry.
