Why would we want a world class manager, who made players like Gerrard, Carra, Torres, Mascherano, Alonso, Aimar, Ayala, etc etc world class?
We should absolutely get the next manager that keeps their struggling team from relegation. As long as they play attacking football!
Of course, Rafa gets us playing boring defensive football. So defensive, we were the second highest scoring team in 2008, and highest scoring team in 2009!
We sure hate those golden gloves Reina kept winning
What we really need is attractive football, the type that keeps teams out of relegation. Woy was fantastic keeping teams out of relegation, wasn't he? Martinez is the second coming!

Its quite simple really. He only started performing once he got booed off at Newcastle a few games ago. He stormed off to the changing room in that game
Once the penny finally dropped that he isn't the hero that he was to them, he has been improving game after game.
He's starting to look like the monster we thought we bought

I think we need to look like we actually have a plan
The much touted "let them go out and express themselves" clearly isn't working.
I would recommend at least having a strategy. Perhaps trying to control the game in a systematic manner, and negating our opponent's strengths before attacking would be a good idea.
Carra has looked dodgy for 2 seasons now. Perhaps we need more zonal marking
Kenny is complaining about fatigue now. Perhaps some rotation
Hmmm

I always suspected him to be a closet Liverpool fan somehow. Like Henry
His interviews are always good about us, always shitting on Fergie too. His departure might have something to do with it, but I suspect its more than that
-
Get Alonso too and that's 3 who all left for the same reason. They thought they'd further their careers.
Since we're going there, might as well add Owen to the mix for a free transfer
-
I'd bid 20 mil on Torres, and 20 mil on Adebayor. Whichever sticks, or both
If both fails, 20 mil on Villa and 20 mil on Tevez
If we even get one of these, or two, we're laughing

To me its simple. Kenny has to decide the style we want to play, and stick to it.
The second half of last season showed that Suarez works best with the pass and move type players, which include Kuyt, Maxi, Raul, Lucas and I believe Aquilani and Gerrard. Hell, Lucas looked world class playing in that style.
We bought Henderson, Downing and Adam obviously to play to Carroll's supposed strengths. And it is no wonder, our Stoke approach is not working.
Its not a bad idea to have Carroll as a plan B. Rafa used Crouch as a battering ram too, but not as the primary style.
IMO, although we sold Raul and Aquilani (as good as sold), we should stock up on more of these intelligent, pass and move, tiki taka type players. I am sure Henderson, Downing and Adam will be able to adapt eventually, but not all at once. They need the English style trained out of them first.
As for Carroll, since we paid so much for him, he has to adapt to our style, not we adapt to his style. If he eventually cannot fit, we just have to get rid of him, even at a loss. Barcelona got rid of Ibrahimovic too, when he didn't fit their style.
So for now, play to Suarez' strengths, which means more of Kuyt and Maxi, less of Adam and Henderson.

When Kenny came last season, our season was saved with fantastic passing and moving, interchanging players, crisp passing. The primary players involved in that were Suarez, Raul, Maxi, Kuyt and Lucas. Beautiful one touch stuff. I suspect Aquilani would have fit in beautifully with those players, and play beautiful one touch stuff too.
Instead now we have Henderson, Downing, Adam. I have no problems with them slowly eased in, but instead they are automatic first choice, and bar one game this season, we haven't really played that well, regardless what the pundits were saying
Suarez and Lucas don't look half the player they were end of last season, simply because the passes aren't coming to feet, and they have no one to pass to when in possession.
We bought the best player from Villa, Sunderland and Blackpool, and we expect to suddenly be challenging?
Instead we bench the former Feyenoord captain, Athletico captain and we sell the former Porto captain.
Sorry, but if we persist with this British-centric approach, at best we will have the same success the national squad is having.
And no doubt, the Suarez'es and the Reina's will leave when another team who is building a fantasy squad calls.
-
I hope that both Meireles and Aquilani gets their chance. IMO a midfield diamond of Meireles Aquilani with Lucas in the anchor will out-pass most teams. Doesn't matter if we play wingers or wingbacks
I like the look of Adams so far, but Meireles and Aquilani fits more to the pass and move ethos. Henderson has been poor IMO so far

Maradona was the undoubted leader of both the Napoli side and Argentina side. He most times carried the teams he played for nearly single handedly
Messi is still young. He might still grow to be a leader. Skill wise he is probably nearly or at the same level. But he is still young, and scarily has plenty of room to grow. He is also unhampered by discipline and drug and alcohol problems, and will probably have a longer and maybe more distinguished career.

Benitaur --- He bought almost everyone in this squad. He'll rightly get blamed for them being shite.
Now, get over it. We're going to dismantle this squad THIS summer... Thank god.
Yep, and all the cream is gone bar Reina. I doubt we would ever see a fit and fully functional Gerrard ever again.
Easy to judge and say the squad is shit when all the best players have left and only the remnants are left that were bench warmers at best
-
Given the fact that he bought our club after we lost Alonso the year before, Mascherano, Aquilani and even Benayoun, and lost Torres not long after, I too would agree that the squad is thin of quality.
However, the press using it to blame Rafa again is dis ingenious. If we had a rich owner under Rafa, we would be keeping our 2009 squad that nearly won the league AND adding on Mereiles, Suarez and Carol. Thats what top teams do. Not trade top players and have a second squad of bargain buys
-
Hard to say that we have a lack of leadership when most of our players were captains of other sides we bought them from. Everyone including Lucas, Kuyt, Meireles, Suarez, Kyrgiakos, Maxi. Thats a whole team of captains there.
The problem is, we keep getting these professionals, who are leaders, who do respect the referees and respect the opposition
Against top sides, this is ok. However against bottom sides, we struggle
What we do need are the bullies. The players who enjoy showboating, diving and making the opponents look stupid. These are the pussies that wuss out against top opposition, but against low level teams, they are the ones who will run a cricket score.
You need the twats like Nani, C Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic... these types of players. They will disappear against top opponents, but against cannon fodder, these are the type of players we need, the bullies. IMO Diouf was such a player, but unfortunately he couldn't score in a brothel

Reina
Lucas (did you see some of his interceptions?)

I absolutely think Alexis Sanchez may very well be the best of the bunch of wingers we are linked with, and the list includes
Hazard, Turan, Marin, Young, Johnson etc etc. This lad looks really a different class IMO, maybe Messi class.
-
Him and Barton in the same side... that should be good for a laugh, and yet possibly be awesome as well
-
Owen, Mascherano, Torres.... fuck them all. Their best years were with us, and their career can go to hell for all I care.
I would like this to be called the "Michael Owen Curse", and I think it would be great to use this phrase over and over again until it becomes a meme, so much so that we eventually see the phrase in the papers and on TV.
Both as a fuck you to these players, and as a warning to future stars to remember, who made you a star.

Sell, on high wages and never really impressed. What we really need are wingers who can dribble, and Cole's flicks are simply not good enough, especially when compared to the players that are out there that we would be looking at for next season.
Even compared to Maxi or even Ngog, Cole looks inferior both in ability and attitude.
-
My suggestion about pay as you play wasn't meant literraly.
Comolli knows from his time at Arsenal how wenger threats players who approach their 30's when it comes to contracts. I hope he will do much of the same here.
So you mean Gerrard and Carra I presume?
-
Pretty good effort against Blackburn
Not much of a thunderbolt was it? More like a volley off Torres' deflected shot
-
Giggs by a mile
Remember years ago when we got Kewell and Chelsea got Duff, both supposedly wanted by the Mancs as Gigg's replacement? He is still going on strong now, while the other two younger players are closer to retirement than he is.
-
Must be abslotute bullshit mate. Don´t remember Insua making any assist but don´t give a fuck for looking on the stats.
Emiliano is shit, as are the Da Silvas.
They are new Neville´s from my point of view. Hailed as next big thing at the beginning, only act like a fucking cunts at the end.
And Obertan is mediocre but still miles above Bebe.
Yep, can clearly see you are not a person for stats, or facts.
Just pure emotional drivel
Carry on then
No risk & a proven winner Rafa Benitez
