  1. That video never fails to give me goosebumps.

Unbelievable game that maybe will never be topped.

How bad were some of those Milan penalties though? It was like they were resigned to missing them.

    In my book everything.

Comes over a bit soccer am or baddiel and skinner fantasy football league to me.

But to each their own i suppose.

This Is definitely not that kind of thing. At least not for me it isn't. Thought it would be interesting to have a thread chatting about some obscure 3rd division Spanish team/Finnish team/Paraguayan team and their goings on. As you say, it's not for everyone.

  3. To be clear, the idea was to have a thread where we can chat about some foreign team and its results, players and goings on.

Could have been a team in the Bolivian league, MLS, Swiss league or something. Just thought it would be interesting. It's not like we would be supporting them like we support Liverpool.

  4. I know a few of us will already have favourite second teams or teams we have soft spots for, but I thought maybe somehow we could pick a team to follow and talk about through the season.

Not sure how we'd go about it, whether a poll would be best or not. Could we whittle it down to a league first and then pick from there?

    Any thoughts?

Interesting point, he deals with these 1v1s fairly regularly and just cracks on like it's part of the job, no drama.

Other keepers go absolutely apeshit at their defence every time they're forced to do some work and make a save or two, because they're so uncomfortable in those situations and they know they got away with one.

That's how cool he is, rentlessly handsome too. God I love him.

This. His mental strength and calmness is his biggest attribute I'd say. If he fucks up, he just gets on with it. Cool as the proverbial. It's something many keepers don't have.

It's strange though, because we are used to his brilliance we expect it of him. It's hard to disagree though.

That's when you know a keeper is good isn't  it? You just expect him to perform. You never even think to worry about it.

When we had karius,Mignolet, Reina, Westerveld etc You just hoped they didn't fuck up. Probably a bit harsh on Pepe as he started out really well and so did Dudek to be fair. Nothing like Ali though.

I realise I will get shouted down for this as it may seem I am blaming Jurgen as well, which I am definitely NOT,but when we 7 or 8 points clear and centre halves were dropping like flies I am still angry we didn't buy any centre halves. Going level with United on 20 titles is still a big deal to me because eventually they will get it right, just as we did after a 30 year drought. League titles and being the best at home and europe are why we support this club. Making the biggest profit, while profit is important of course,is not the biggest aim for me or most fans I know.

That was a massive error on the club's part. The plan must have been Konate in the summer and we couldn't have brought that forward for some reason.

The fact that we waited for Matip to be injured and then left it until the last day to sort it was ridiculous.

We should have either paid extra for Konate or brought Kabak and someone else in at the beginning of the month. Just free up our midfielders.

  8. He's been amazing this season and is criminally underrated. A couple of posters on here said that if Joel and Virg could be on the pitch for most of the season then we would win the league. You can probably add Fabinho and Thiago to that list. So important for us to have that solid base.
