He can take his 3 weeks when he is turning out for Fulham in 8 years.

    I couldn't give a shit about daaarrmmanschaft.

There is no way not one of Jones, Thiago, Bajcetic are not ready for the first league game.

You’ll never win anything with kids ….

Disappointing lack of Tchouameni links in recent days, especially if we now have more money.

Madrid have apparently said he’s not for sale and he doesn’t want to leave.

weren’t we in for Zakaria a couple of years back ? Not that he’s the profile we’d expect. Ming you where would Fab have been on that list 5 years ok ? It’ll be another left field signing unless we think Lavia is the man

Interested if there is a player we haven't already been linked with that would be a suitable replacement for Fabinho that those of you with the time and inclination would recommend. Some seem to rate Palhinha at Fulham?

Yeah mentioned him on the whinge thread or Tyler Adams ? I can’t see it being any of those four Joyce mentioned for Fab, need to be more experienced.

Just been in the car. Talksport say fab is having a medical but Henderson is with the squad in Germany. I wonder if Henderson is bottling out? If he is, I'd still strip him of the captaincy.

There’s no offer to the club, so until the Saudi club pay the money, it’s not happening. In Fabs case the £40m was offered last night.

I wanted Phillips when he was moving from Leeds, so I’d be delighted to get him. I think he’d suit us very well.

Yep but he’s got the city stink now plus he’s been injured for much of last season.

it wouldn’t surprise me to see another Dom type out of the blue signing. Adam’s or Paulinha

I'd be disappointed with amrabat and Lavia. Amrabat is crap and wouldn't look out of place at Everton. And Lavia just doesn't have enough experience for me. He's not much further along than bajcetic for me.

Do you think Ambarat is shit ?

I’d say he’s an interesting one. Id agree he’s unproven in the pace and intensity of the premier league and performing in the slower paced International game isn’t a guarantee. HOwever he seemed to be a central figure and leader to Morocco’s World Cup run and did ‘that’ tackle on Mbappe, I also thought he did better than Rice in the Euro St John’s trophy final, so hes passed the examinations he has been given, it’s wether he can step up.

    Which I don’t know

I honestly don't think that will happen you know, because it was never about the individual per se, it was about the individual's performances in the Liverpool team.  While this is all popcorn TV, I'm not going to have a go at him for trying to maximise his earning potential by signing for a Saudi team.  These players are almost without exception a bit thick, and  there's no other way they're ever going to be able to provide security for their families for generations to come.  There's a lot of players who are worse human beings than Henderson that have pulled on the Liverpool shirt.

Agreed, and that wasn’t aimed at you . As for your last point, I mean we all love a certain little fella who literally bit his way through players to get what he wanted and most recently tried to feign retirement injured so he could go play in Miami …

Looks like Fabinho is on his way.

Was just going to post the same. I was in the ‘he’ll come back into form’ camp so a little bit disappointed. Hopefully it means we go in for an established DM like Caicedo rather than Lavia.

You obviously haven’t heard about the LIFE-CHANGING money. He won’t have to choose between a starter and a dessert on holiday this year, and he’s promised the family one of those furry toilet seat covers.

I thought the standard measure of wealth around here was Yachts ? In which case, it’s life changing as he can go from a small yacht to a big yacht and park it nearerJohns now ?

Honestly, I'd have hoped that anyway! 50m for a lad who got the run around for most of the 20-odd premier league games he's played seems unreasonable to me, I can't get my head around it. I have kind of felt maybe he's down the list a little like kone and thuram have been and there's somebody with some more experience we're looking for.

Hair brained fan boys and apologists have clearly warped and skewed Henderson's grasp on reality. Toxic positivity has that affect.

He's never been good enough to hold down a first team place. Being able to run all day and being "a nice lad", fucks sake, imagine if he got Michael Owen to write a dossier for him, it'd be emptier than his highlight reel.

Terrible player with a tarnished reputation. Be gone ye Satan.

And yet he is because he has, under successive managers, in a successful team.

the only question that matters if he doesn’t go, is could he contribute toward us being successful in our squad this season in whatever role given, the sole arbiter of that is Klopp.

if he thinks he can, he will play, just as many players have done before at every club ever.

It's less about whether Robertson can defend. It's a lot more about the simple fact that he's never going to be as good a defender as a pure CB. If you are putting significantly less onus on Robertson to attack, and need much more coverage centrally, because Konate has to push far right to cover Trent, his value in the team plummets. His attacking is far and away his main attribute. The role then is going to be much better suited to an actual CB, who also has good ball playing ability and can do some attacking (like Gvardiol that City just got, or like Colwill). It's like if we took Firmino a few years ago and put him at DM. He could possibly have done a half decent job. He's never gonna do as good a job as a good natural 6, and you are minimising a lot of his best attributes. This team can't afford to screw around with the defense, it wasn't our attack that was responsible for no CL football this year. All the resources should now be going into making sure the defensive problems we had last year don't repeat, and so far none of our signings are really going to address that problem.

not sure I agree in your final point. If you look at 20/21 and 22/23 seasons it was a malfunctioning midfield that cost us. In 20/21 yes we had defenders injured but the resolution was not to put Henderson or Fab in there, it was actually to play Williams and Phillips s CBS. Once we restored Fab and Henderson to midfield results picked up no we weren’t as exposed.

So whilst I’d love a Colwill or Gvardiol, given it looks like we’ll be losing more midfielders we should be spending our resources to firm that area up, as it protects the back 3/4 and if we can be successful with Phillips and Williams we should be successful with what we have right now.

obviously we can discuss funding and we should be able to all the above but given we know how this works at LFC midfield first for me, plus getting the front 3 to press effectively.

Exactly. How can things change that quickly in those countries with centuries of religious beliefs, just because the west has decided to make it a big thing in the last 5 years.

Exactly, it’s also hypocrisy. Israel Folaeu was an Australian Rugby Union player, who criticised homosexuality in a social media post. He was subsequently sacked by the Australian Rugby Union, thing is, as originally a Christian south sea islander where did he get those fundamental Christian

beliefs from in the first place ?

from western missionaries who ‘spread the word of god’ to these south sea island communities 200 years ago.

Not sure about that. Both sides have objectives each season.

Szoboszlai is a regular in a Europe chasing side and regularly plays twice a week. He’s missed 1 game injured in the 2 seasons.

Mac Allister is a bit different. Brighton were a bit shit when they were asked to play twice a week towards the end of last season. Apparently since Brighton signed Mac Allister in 2019, he’s only been injured for 38 days in total.

As somebody said earlier, you’d be hard pressed to find a couple of midfielders with better injury records.

I’m sure we can sort that out …

Man City played with 7 midfielders last season, Rodri, Gundongan, De Bruyne, Silva, Foden, Palmer and Phillips. The latter barely played, Palmer only played gimmes and Foden was injured for half the season. Essentially 4 players done all the work, we don't need a huge amount of players, just lads that can stay fit.

Rico Lewis ? He seemed to get a few run outs after the League cup against us.
