Just been looking at the Premier League under 18 and Premier League 2 (U23s FKA reserves) and City have been dominating at these levels as well for the last 4 years too.
Their depth and investment hasn’t just been limited to the first team. In some ways there’s a lot to be said for them having a good youth system as everyone wants to produce their own talent but even their academy is tainted with sportwashed petrodollars.

If you compare the line ups from 2018 and 2019 we’re still starting with 8 or 9 of the same players. Arsenal are still using 0 or 1.Not sure why people are surprised by Arsenal’s progress this year. They’ve been building a team for 3 years. As have most other teams around us, we’ve just been stood still telling everyone how clever we are.

He had the best goals per minutes ratio in the big European leagues last season.
Yea, I think Kevin Phillips did once as well.

It'd be interesting to hear what the consensus is from opposition defenders rather that twitter helmets.
I think defenders would be more bothered about him getting past them if there was a consistent end product. If he beats them and ends up one v one against the keeper I doubt they’re too bothered.“The goals will come” people keep saying.
When? There isn’t going to be some magical change, he can run fast (for now) but he isn’t a prolific finisher.

Wasn't Barmby's first League goal against Everton?
Yes it was. He only scored two in the League as well.
Yea, Riise too as well but both scored in Europe beforehand. Thought Babbel’s first was in the Gary Mac derby but he scored a few others that season. -

If they’re stripped of the titles then there should just be no winner that year.
Had they played within the rules we don’t actually know what would have happened, they probably wouldn’t have been as successful but we don’t know for certain how those seasons would have played out. What about the impact it might have had on other chasing teams (Chelsea weren’t far off either in 2014 for example)? I don’t think it’s as black and white as saying you award titles to the runners up.
In any case, the moments have gone, what benefit is there to us as fans or the players to be awarded something now? We’ve nothing to gain but City absolutely have to be punished if they’re found guilty and a fine or suspended sentence doesn’t cut it. There’s no deterrent to anyone in the future otherwise but retrospective punishments are never going to be ideal when they go back so far.

The Bellingham stuff is getting as embarrassing as the Mbappe stuff a few years ago.
The only chance we had to sign him was last summer before his value rocketed - there’s posts on here about what a good World Cup would do to his price tag. It’s highly unlikely we’ll have agreed something in advance and kept it secret and there’s no chance we spend £125m+ on one player now.
It’s clear we want him and I’m sure he’s interested too but no way do the numbers work. Just stop doing it to yourselves.

Exciting times ahead, just watch us monitor the shit out of everyone for the next 6 months.

Unnecessary dig at Darwin that.
(It's a joke before someone goes off, and Pearce's version of the quote quote seems to differ from Jones).
I did also laugh reading this bit:More from Jurgen Klopp on Cody Gakpo: "He is a good footballer, good in small spaces. He likes to finish from distance and has a good shooting technique.
Imagine that.

I asked in the match thread, but there was no response, so I'll go again - when was the last time we benefitted from an OG? The last I remember was Phil Neville in an Anfield derby. That was the one, I think when Gerrard wore the 08 shirt and got sent off. It's the last I remember, but it surely can't be the last. There must have been some since, however few.
There have been lots. All covered on the excellent lfc history website:https://www.lfchistory.net/Stats/GamesOwnGoalsByOpposition

It’s sung to get a reaction, has been for years - though by a lot more sets of fans now. We give them exactly what they want by getting outraged on Twitter but it doesn’t actually change anything.
Never understand people getting wound up by people singing the national anthem at us either - that’s exactly the reaction they want!

My partner is the same with what she uses in the kitchen. She’ll also make a sandwich and leave the butter out on the worktop when she’s finished then forget about it so it’s sat there for hours, same with milk when she’s made tea.
Jon Richardson covers this in his stand up:

Why do people think a minutes silence won’t be honoured? I’ve never known us not honour a silence, for all kinds of things, yet loads are in meltdown over this.
Totally different to playing the national anthem.

Can’t decide if this was my favourite moment or Bournemouth away in the last minute. Not sure he had “concussion” for either of these though

Smicer v Chelsea in 2002
I think Owen scored a last minute winner at the same end against Chelsea the following season too

Apparently the Junior Blues Membership pack comes with a packet of coloured pencils - with no red in there
It does come with a red - the red pencil is the first one in the pack, the blue is second. Superb.

How are Nike still failing to keep up with demand for our kits (yes, ok, Covid etc but still). The stock doesn’t last 5 minutes, the big selling point was that they had more factories and better distribution networks than New Balance but you can’t get hold of loads of it across all sizes.
I wanted last seasons away kit and waited for it to be restocked, was happy to buy it from the club. In the end I just bought a copy from jjsport24 which looks just as good, though I don’t think it’d survive that many washes.
Would love to see how much money we’ve actually made from this deal.

The guitar thing reminds me of that scene in the Inbetweeners film: “Oh no, why’s there always some cunt with a guitar?”
Can’t really be doing with it myself either. I’ve no beef with Webster but it’s overload now.

Managed to return my seat to the club for re sale. The cheeky twats added a note 'you will only get a percentage of the ticket price if it re sells.' Last 2 seasons, they've given the full price back.
It had that message last season, think it’s just never been corrected. You will get the full value back -
Our LFC womens Twitter account congratulated the England team and the main Twitter account retweeted it.
The womens team are also offering a promotion on season tickets as a result.
I hope the poor Blue doesn’t find out. Death by fume.
