Let's try and have a constructive debate about the team on the field in this thread and avoid the predictable tedious debates which most threads turn into. - Forget the predictable Benitez debate on whether he is (or isn't) the right man for the club. - Forget about the owners in this thread. - Forget about January and who we can (or can't) potentially sign. What do you want to see from the side, manager, fans and club up until January? - I personally want to see some leadership from our captain Gerrard. He's fit now and it is time for him to show support to our manager and inspiring our team on and off the field. - I want to see the fans really get behind the manager during games, which I think they did against Birmingham. - I want to see an improvement in the set plays. Certainly defensively, which we have for some reason, the last two season become extremely vulnerable in this area. Ideally attacking-wise, but I guess that is too much to hope for. - I want to see Benitez picking a side that is going to be pro active, with a view to attacking teams an having an intent and urgency to win right from the beginning... that means no Lucas / Mascherano partnership in my opinion, especially as Aquilani and Gerrard are now available. - I want to see Babel really step up and take his opportunity now we have injuries to Reira and Benayoun. Use the goal he got against Lyon to be a catalyst for his Anfield career, as he might not get another chance after this... certainly run of games. - Players picked on form rather than reputation. If Kuyt or Carragher aren't performing - then don't slected them automatcially or sub them. These players are not on the level on Gerarrd and Torres, where they still thrive if not 100%... they should not be untouchable IMO, which I feel they are. Is there anything you would like to see in the next few games, apart from: - New owners - More finances - Another manager - Etc How can we improve on the pitch and ensure we get into the top four, which has to be the minimum target this season.
