Ususally when I post I am drunk off my arse and spout pure drivel, and usually we have just drawn at home to bottom feeders, so those two things not present hopefully this will be better! I just can't stop thinking that having no cash to waste is going to end up being what saves our club potentially. Seeing what the young players are doing with their opportunity only makes Melwood a more attractive place for future stars, that can't be bad. We are being forced to operate like a football club with a responsibility to itself and its people. Let's face it after the last owners we could easily have gone like Southhampton. Utilizing the talented youth saves absolutely loads of cash, and is a permanent fix, unlike going after fads; Baros, Cisse, Torres, Carrol.... If the youth weren't coming through, who would be from Liverpool after SG and JC retire? (I am aware some of the current crop are from other parts.) Where would the true representation of the City (or the Club) come from? It would be just us fans. I like Rodgers, I like his football, he is truly being forced to squeeze every inch out of his players, young and old. I hope in January we don't need to buy a striker because as the confidence grows in the squad we start getting goals from all positions. We now have natural young talent on both wings (when Downing's not around)! How far back do we have to go to remember the last time we could say that? So long as we finish higher than Everton, have a cup run or two, and save millions on wages and transfers we have essentially turned the Club around and pointed it in the right direction in a season. Continue this way a few seasons down the road we can afford a new stadium without the debt, watching our former academy players in their prime. The rut our Club found itself in only recently could not continue or we would have become Southhampton, we were living beyond our means. We might be about to set the benchmark for how a Club achieves succes without being owned by some bonkers billionaire. For the last 15-20 years we have been virtually directionless, winning big games and losing/drawing small games. It will be a lot easier to take losing/drawing if we are atleast following a plan, I have always said if you don't have a goal/dream, you will never achieve it! I think it is a blessing in disguise.
