Meeting with Rick Parry – Spirit Of Shankly – Liverpool Supporters' Union On Monday evening, representatives of the Spirit Of Shankly (SOS) Management Committee, accepted a request from Liverpool FC Chief Executive, Rick Parry, to attend a meeting. SOS took the opportunity to explain to Mr Parry why the Union had been formed, and expressed deep concern, on behalf of its members, about the present ownership situation at the club. Mr Parry accepted and appreciated that SOS members were unhappy. The Union also expressed concern regarding some of the recently implemented 'ticket allocation' initiatives which directly affect fans such as the 'Belong' membership scheme, the recently announced Thomas Cook graded ticket packages for Liverpool FC home games, and the issue of the new ground. Mr Parry requested that any of these concerns be raised formally in writing detailing any specific issues. Due to time constraints not all issues of concern were covered. As a result, a follow up meeting has been suggested in approximately six weeks time, where we hope to be able to raise further concerns and discuss these in more detail. A more in depth report of the first and any subsequent meetings will be communicated to all members as soon as possible. Our position on the ownership of Liverpool Football Club has not changed and as the current situation sees the club moving further away from its longheld traditions, the Liverpool Supporters' Union is requesting that fans are not forgotten in the movement towards commercial competitiveness. We believe it is possible to compete in the commercial sense whilst still maintaining the traditions many fans hold dear. We want to see improved consultation with fans and we hope and believe a workable situation can be reached. Spirit Of Shankly

I'm curious as to how far that trust extends. reading the barry tread it seems there are some that seem glad the owners have turned down the bid for barry, so its a case of trust until he makes a more poor decision? no poll this time, just a simple question; how much do you trust rafa? I may as well start, rafa has my complete trust its not a case of RCDNW (rafa can do no wrong) its more a case of he knows more than I do and even though I think I have a handle of the team he has far more information to hand than I do, he see the players day in and day out and he has a backroom staff that gives him information he doesn't have. if rafa says we need barry then I trust him, if rafa says xabi is surplus I trust him because frankly he has EARNT that trust. that's how I feel. so opinions please.
