  1. Here's the first draft of a letter I'm putting together for David Moores. As I say, it's a first draft, there may be glaring spelling mistakes/grammatical errors so I'd welcome feedback, suggestions for improvement etc. Dear Mr Moores, I’m writing to you in the vain hope that you are as upset about the state of Liverpool Football Club as I and millions of supporters worldwide are. Before I proceed, I wish to refer you to an article written on both yours and Rick Parrys’ behalf in the wake of the collapsed deal with DIC, and the rushed acceptance of the disastrous joint bid from our current owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett. icLiverpool - Trust us Let me highlight a couple of direct quotes from Rick Parry that I hope make you shuffle a little uncomfortably in your chair as you read them. “Be assured the only thing David Moores is concerned about is the club being in the right hands for the future. You can be certain he has done his homework carefully and will make a decision in the best interests of the club.” “Whatever decision is finally taken will be done so in the best interests of Liverpool Football Club. When we have more to say, we are sure it will be good news and the right news. “We had a duty as directors to consider a very interesting bid from George Gillett. The price is not a factor in David Moores’s mind. He is not after cash for himself, absolutely not. But he felt compelled to consider the rival bid.” Whilst I accept the premise of this article, namely that you wanted us to secure the financial backing needed to take us to the next level by building a new stadium whilst remaining competitive in the transfer market, without loading us with debt. Well now is the time to come clean to the public, Mr Moores. What exactly was this very interesting offer from George Gillett? It is public knowledge that he intended to use loans to buy as and load debt on the club. This is why Doug Ellis, the then chairman of Aston Villa F.C sent him packing. How can you be deemed not fit to purchase Aston Villa and end up with the most successful club in England? What exactly did this homework consist of? Have you ever used the Google Internet search engine, Mr Moores? I doubt it, because if you had, I doubt very much we’d be in this position now. For example, if either you or Mr Parry had used it at the time of the take over, you would have seen that Tom Hicks had already taken Corinthians (of Brazil) to bankruptcy, you would have seen he arrived in a blaze of glory promising a new stadium and big budgets for players but left after fleecing them of all their resources. You would have also seen how he was fleecing fans of his other “franchises.” I would also state that DIC’s version of events at that time differ wildly from yours and Mr Parrys, and given that they had impeccable business references, working with, and owning vast stakes in some of the most successful global brands on the planet whilst Mr Parry had a reputation for not answering his phone (something DIC claimed was continually happening), the jury is still very much out on what exactly happened during those times, especially as it culminated in an additional £8 million ending up in your bank account. Well here we are now, Mr Moores, our debt has been increased tenfold from £40 million when you sold us to £400 million now. Let me just reiterate and emphasise that for you. £400 million, that is just for the dubious honour of being owned by a pair of LBO specialist shysters. It’s cards on the table time for us all, we are continuing to lose money just to pay interest on a loan that you guaranteed would not be necessary, and here is the crux of my prose to you. You can still play a role in our club and rectify the mistakes you and Mr Parry made during that time. We are at a crossroads in our history, now more than ever. You may well be consigned to history as the man who sold LFC down the river for a modern day equivalent of 30 pieces of silver. It’s not too late, fans are split and not everyone fully understands exactly how you, me and every interested party, have been continually lied to by our current “custodians”. If you would resign your life presidency and go public with the betrayal of these people then people would believe and follow you, Mr Moores. You could rally round the support needed to affect change within the club, people are lost and dazed and in need of a figurehead to spur us on. We are a club beseeched with lies and warring fractions, and so much misinformation that the average fan doesn’t know whom to believe. It’s time to recognise your part in this mess and help the fans rectify it, I guarantee you would have our backing. We need you Mr Moores, to make the wrong decision when lied to would be understandable, to continue to endorse the current ownership, which your silence does, is unforgivable. Do you remember that mosaic that the Kop gave you? Well now is the time to earn it.
