What? er who? I mean how? Two years?

I had wondered how my phone signal had suddenly improved.

retired police officer Mark Sexton says if all Covid restrictions are not lifted and vaccinations are not ceased, citizens have a right to arrest ministers and MPs by force and set up common law courts.

    I dare him.

Just had an interview on Skype. Kids out playing in the street and one of the little fucking brats has been rumbling past ours on his little scooter (not an electric one) he goes to the top of the street and it's a slight gradient so he flies back down. Back and forth shouting like fuck while another one has been bouncing the ball right outside as well. Just looked outside and some woman who visits her friend, pulls up in a nice big car and lets her own two kids run riot in the street with her mates kids then fucks off a few hours later. I need a gun. Proper secluded nice quaint street ruined by feral little wankers between 4 and 8 years of age.

  3. I fucking hated Schumacher, he definitely had launch software running against FIA rules in his car.

There was this that I fucking hated him for too.

While it all seemed a straightforward victory for Michael Schumacher and his Ferrari, the stewards had other plans for him. The stewards felt that he overtook Alexander Wurz under the safety car on lap 43 and handled him a stop and go penalty. Now this is where Ferrari’s smartness came in. According to the rules, he had to enter the pit lane within three laps. He did come into the pit lane to serve his penalty but came in the last lap and while doing so, crossed the finish line! The finish line actually extended over the pit lane. Schumi inadvertently crossed the finish line while entering the pits. He was declared the 1998 British GP race winner, much to Hakkinen’s chagrin!

But, clearly he didn’t serve his penalty within the race distance, which meant he should have been disqualified. He held the top spot on the podium during the post race celebrations but was summoned to the FIA later. Ferrari defended their decision stating that the stewards failed to notify the Ferrari pit wall within the time limit for doing so. Ferrari was pretty quick in finding the loophole and in return got the penalty cancelled. It was a very smart move by Ferrari, a very smart victory indeed. Ferrari got the call right, the stewards got it wrong, and in return had their license revoked.

Schumacher fan or not, you’ve got to agree the victory didn’t belong to him. Although Hakkinen made a lot many mistakes to deserve the victory himself, Ferrari very cleverly used the loophole in the handbook to steer clear over the penalty and ultimately show their upper hand over FIA.

I don't know what thread to put this in, but this kind of fits. There's this girl I fancy who offers PT sessions for a gym. In order to meet and talk to her, I got one. We do the session, the convo is decent, I'm not even really hitting on her, it's all pretty pleasant and casual but I'm showing somewhat clear interest in her. At the end, I didn't ask for her number, because I thought it would come across as if I only got the session because I like her (it's true, but I didn't want her to think that) but she told me I could contact her through her work email, which I assumed would be on the gym's website. So I look at the website and there is no email under her name.

So, have I just received the pie of all pies to the face, or is this an honest mistake and she doesn't know that her email isn't showing on her employer's website? Could women really be this snakey to get out of contact with a man? A fucking non-existent work email?

I'll message her on Facebook anyway to try to meet up because shooters shoot and I think there's a 60/40 chance she doesn't know her email isn't there but if she's just done me like that on purpose, I'm never showing romantic interest in a woman ever again. This would be worse than getting a fake phone number (which has never happened to me, to clarify).

It could be worse. Some years ago I’m told there was a number that women could give out to men, they’d ring it thinking it was the girls number but it would be a number belonging to radio city. They’d play them on the radio for everyone to hear.

In any case you’re lucky, when I was young if you got a woman’s number it was a home telephone landline and generally guarded by their father. Who could ask you twenty questions before he’d tell his daughter you were on the phone.

It’s a basic human decency requirement. Unfortunately many in society are lacking that part

I could have asked my daughter to not mention me to the test and trace workers, but what message would that have sent to my kids, my son who still had 6 days of his own isolation to go. At that time I didn't know if I had it or not.

We're partly in this mess because some pricks can't think of others as they're selfish bastards.

My mum and dad both have it. Have both been double vaxxed but it's hit them for 6. Dropped things off for them before and they look like bags of shite. Seems absolutely mental to end restrictions tomorrow when it's this prevalent.

Hope your parents get better soon.

I agree, as we watch cases rise at such a speed its madness to just lift all restrictions in one go, a step by step approach with common sense should always have been the way. As has been previously mentioned, how do shop staff, transport workers and the like deal with people with no masks if it isn't the law.

Johnson is just trying to take the blame off himself and on to everyone else. Remember it was businesses themselves that initially forced his hand, he wasn't going to shut football until the leagues themselves did it. He was happy to see hundreds of thousands of plebs perish until he was told the numbers would be too high for him to be re-elected.

Of all the PMs that have been in office he surely has to have been the worst one we could have had during a pandemic. He has the backbone of a jellyfish, an utter turd of a man. I despair for this country and if I ever had the opportunity to leave I would in an instant.

  9. From 2016

In his speech Cameron argued that the EU has helped to “anchor peace and stability across the European continent” by binding the continent together.

“The European Union has helped reconcile countries which were once at each others’ throats for decades. Britain has a fundamental national interest in maintaining common purpose in Europe to avoid future conflict between European countries,” the prime minister said.

A key weakness in Cameron’s argument is that security in western and central Europe, and parts of eastern Europe, is not, for the most part, within the remit of the EU. It is mainly a matter for the US-led transatlantic alliance that has existed since the end of the second world war, Nato.

Nato is a military alliance, with a HQ in Brussels, a central command and control structure, running a huge force of soldiers and equipment from more than 20 countries. They conduct major training exercises annually throughout the region. The EU has no army, no common defence policy and no common foreign policy.

If Russia was to mount an aggressive campaign in the Baltics or along the Polish border, it would be Nato troops that would be confronting them.

If the UK was to leave the EU, it would not make the slightest difference to its membership of NATO.

Cameron said that UK influence is greater these days than at any time since the low point of the Suez crisis in 1956 and attributes this in part to Europe. Not true. The UK does not have military forces remotely comparable to what it had in 1956 or even 10 years ago.

It has influence through being a permanent member of the UN security council and leaving the EU would not affect that.

But as always the dominant force in western security is the US. All other countries, including the UK, are by comparison bit players. Whether the UK is in or out of the EU would not alter that fact.

  10. Boris Johnson and Chancellor Rishi Sunak are to avoid going into self-isolation despite close contact with Sajid Javid, who has Covid, Downing Street confirmed today. The Health Secretary triggered fears of a disruptive 'pingdemic' striking at the heart of Government after reveling yesterday he has tested positive. Mr Javid had visited the Commons and Downing Street in previous days – and is understood to have held a lengthy face-to-face meeting with Boris Johnson just before his symptoms developed – sparking concerns that senior figures across Whitehall would have to be confined to home. One insider warned that 'half the Cabinet' could be in isolation by the end of the week.

But this morning No10 said Mr Johnson would take advantage of a pilot scheme not widely available to  the public to avoid going into isolation. 'The Prime Minister and Chancellor have been contacted by NHS Test and Trace as contacts of someone who has tested positive for Covid', a spokesman said.

My mum and dad went to Lego Land and stayed overnight with my sister, brother-in-law and three nephews and one of my nephews stayed in their room for the night.

The one who stayed in their room felt sick the morning after he stayed with them and tested positive for Covid. They all had to isolate.

My dad and brother-in-law (both double jabbed) then had symptoms of covid but both tested negative by PCR, as did my mum and sister.

I know you haven’t got symptoms but I know a few people who are double jabbed who have had contact with someone positive, then got symptoms of Covid and subsequently tested negative. It’s strange, I wonder if it’s psychosomatic in some people and knowing you’ve been in contact with someone positive messes with your head?

I do understand why I have to isolate but as of 16th August, I wouldn't according to the governments plans because I am double jabbed. I am sure those plans will change if the rates go through the roof as is predicted.

I wouldn't have a problem with limited isolation, such as just being allowed to go for a walk if I tested negative and daily lateral flow tests to reinforce that. I can't even do that and don't have a garden, it's just an inconvenience.

While I am happy to follow the rules there will be many that will now just delete the app and go about their business, if we had a little bit of a more sensible process then less might be inclined to do that.

If I was a EUFA official, a politician or rich then I could be out there now doing what I wanted. Well I wouldn't because I'm not a twat but still.

    Glad it’s negative.

Thanks, as I don't have any symptoms I'd have been ok with an immune booster shot that a positive result would have given. Not so happy about the extra days isolating it would have meant though.

If I've read things correctly then if I'd have been in this situation after 16th August, as I'm double jabbed I would not have to isolate anyway. Anyone messaging me about 'freedom day' on Monday is going to be told to fuck off.

I can't really complain, my daughter says she feels like shit with the covid and her work telling her to work from home, she has spent the last couple of days in bed with it.

Looks like bank have made a small charge for a non sterling transaction.

I should have said, never use your card. I'm not calling into question the site but often they get hacked and card details taken. Paypal is safer.

If I cannot use Paypal I use Revolut and for a small monthly charge they provide a disposable card. Some banks I think can offer this too for online purchases.

Had a separate charge of 72p (which is of course fuck all) just wondered if this was normal.

Showing as 'non sterling transaction fee' - bank i assume.

You used PayPal? Like al other Chinese websites I would never use a card directly with them, unless it was a disposable card like someone like Revolut offer.
