  1. Oh OK, so losing to the mancs doesnt really matter know because in the scheme of things, we should expect to win there? have some people forgotten the torres \ gerrard show there a few years back? And since when should any defeat by the mancs be shrugged off?

Sorry but even a win against Carlisle isnt gauranteed after todays debacle never mind norwich or bordeaux. Some people need their prose looking at.

  2. Everyone has their own tipping point. Ive reached mine. I dont care who was responsible for our great failure. The football was fantastic as was the rush. I dont blame the manager for the fact we didnt win the title 2 season's ago. Its not even a question of 'using up' the goodwill.

Its just gone to shit since. Last season was a total waste. After a tricky start was handed out by the PL, we have been fortunate to have 7 points after 3 games when everyone really expected 3 maybe 4 at most.

But today was the last straw for me. 1 up front again. At home. And I was singularly unimpressed being linked to never mind paying the thick end of £33m for benteke.

He's heskey mark 2. Think about that.

  3. What is it about getting snotted 3-0 at home to a shite team that hasn't won here in 50 years makes people turn on the manager?

What the fuck do these people want, really?

Er, because the 'shite' team looked more organised than us, looked more inventive than us, were more mobile than us and created more chances than us. Oh and I forgot, they were the away team.

Oh and something else, they havent spent silly fuck loads of money to make their team look better than us.

  4. I think he's got half a season and then it will be assessed. If the owners were going to make a change then it would have happened in the summer, when there was a strong case for it. Since they put him in again you would have to think he will be given at least a decent block of games this season to see how we go.

If we are there or thereabouts once the difficult opening fixtures have been completed, I think he will carry on for the rest of the season. If we have many more performances like today we will be well off the pace and he will be gone by Christmas.

Three players at the club can change this. Get Sakho in the middle of the defence, Henderson in the midfield and Sturridge alongside Benteke, and I'm convinced we will look an altogether better team. Then again, there are definite question marks over Rodgers no matter who is in the team. The issue is, 'Can he get the best out of the players he has?' Unfortunately it doesn't look like it.

I have a lot of sympathy with the viewpoint that wants Klopp/Ancelotti in right away. There's still loads to play for. But whoever said a managerial change so soon into the season makes the owners look stupid (after backing him) was spot on. That's why I think Rodgers is safe until Christmas, barring an absolute disaster if the bottom falls out of the whole thing.

Loads of people left Anfield after the 3rd hit the back of the net. The thing is, walking away from the ground most people myself included didnt seem angry. They seemed to see it for what it was, a pathetic result driven by pathetic tactics by a now widely regarded pathetic manager.

Im just surprised the boo-ing wasnt louder at half time. i dont think he is safe til Christmas. Results will drive that and the owners wont want to see hordes streaming out of Anfield (if they are still in there after a few more shit performances) on the back of defeats.

I hate saying it be we rode our luck at stoke. Lovren was lucky to escape a red card. We rode our luck even more against Bournemouth with not one but two dodgey 'goals.' we battled well or seemed to at arsenal but again, a fortunate lino call saved us from defeat even if that would have been harsh.

Today was just pathetic and was the last straw for me. One up front? 'Benteke's fee will prove to be a bargain'? Fuck off with that shite. He's wank, he cant score from 6 yards at arsenal because he thought it was a cert!

    Ive had enough.

  5. I still don't think he should be sacked.

Not just the fact it will probably cost us 20m.

We need to grow some balls and he should have been told at the end of last season if we are not in a position to challenge by Christmas you walk. Or we sack you now.

The owners will have 8500 extra seats to fill next season in our swanky new improved Main Stand. If this shit continues, they might find they actually have 10000 or more empty seats to fill instead.

Money will talk. Rodgers will be gone by Christmas if the result and performances are as bad as today.

  6. We bought benteke who's good in the air. Last season we put fewer crosses in than any other team but that could be explained by the fact we didnt have strikers noted for their heading.

Now, benteke in the team and we couldnt get one fucking decent cross in for him. I swear every fucking one was either too high, too long or too fucking short.

  7. Even listening to Rodger's on Sky now there is no shame his voice no apology to the fans no slagging the players off or saying he got it badly wrong or for the abject display nope nothing ,he talks like a mid table manager....

When is the last time we lost at home to a side like West Ham 3-0. I remember losing to Chelsea 4-1 about 10 years back but they were the champions, but not to a mid table side and so easily.

In our last 6 games we have lost 3-1 to Palace ,the Stoke shambles and now this?

Aston Villa 3-0 about 3 or 4 season's ago in December.

  8. Not really "conspiracy fiction" as such, but I mentioned a book in the Book Thread (surprise, surprise) which I think might interest you.  It's Star-Begotten by HG Wells.  It's basically a story about how ideas spread and take hold.  Well worth a read.

Written well before the internet existeed too.

  9. The tories are twats and they want to control the media. Nobling the BBC is a good way to start in their opinion. I really dont see all this bias in the BBC reporting and, even if its there, you should be able to make an informed judgement on a reported situation anyway if you're over 16.

Its fashionable to bash the BBC because we have to pay a license fee yet most of us think nothing of paying sky, amazo, netflix etc, etc, hundreds of pounds for tv content. Yeah, i know there's the argument that you dont have to pay them but do have to pay the BBC via the licence. But none of the afore mentioned have a duty to public service broadcasting like the BBC. Plus if you want more shit (IMVHO) like x factor, the kardassians towie(?) etc, knock yourself out with all the sky shit.

  10. While i agree with that i put nearly all the blame of that on Moores and Coco.

They farted around for years eventually coming up with a 55k version of the Reebok in the park, and then sold to Cancer and Aids. For fucks sake.

By the time FSG arrived I just don't think the finances for building a stadium vs doing up Anfield was ever going to add up.

Spuds are financing theirs via expensive land values, building around the site and an NFL deal while WH have lucked into the deal of the century. (Though i would never want us in that piece of shit mish mash stadium with a track they're going to have)

If we were going to build one the time has passed. FSG are doing the best with a bad situation. I do take issue with them using a goalpost truss making corner expansions in the future incredibly hard to do. That is short sited. Whether that is because of the extra height from doing it cantilever or whether it's them being cheap i don't know.

Also whoever made the decision to do up and sell the houses on Skerries road when the club owned nearly all of them at one point was an absolute fucking tool. With a properly renovated Kemlyn we could have gone to 65k which would have been perfect and i'd be able to sit in the lower without my knees being crushed. The Kop is untouchable because of the road. Not a lot can be done there..

Think the Olympic Stadium has been rebuilt to include retractable seating that will go over most of the running track. Point is, west ham have been given a massive leg up at the taxpayers expense.

  11. Putting money in sadly isn't everything. Spurs have put nothing except player sales towards their transfer spending for years and during that time they've bested us in the league nearly every season. We need owners that generate commercial revenues effectively and spend it efficiently. Clubs like Spurs, Southampton and West Ham are poised to overtake us because they're not hindered by the kinds of mistakes that FSG make year after year.

Spurs have bested us in the league nearly every season? I dont understand what you mean, they havent finished above us that often.

I think there's generally a bit of rose tinted look at what should have been if only etc. Is it really the owners fault that the manager, ayre and or the transfer committee broadly wasted the suarez money? Are people advocating the owners should have said 'you're not signing him, him and him with our money. We want you to spend all the money on him' then be accused of interferring?

Its ok to interfer when it works but people kick off when it doesnt. If clubs like spurs and west ham overtake us, it'll be because large sections of the fan base didnt want a new shiny stadium in stanley Park or worse Speke. Southampton are finding a lot of good players but they're selling them all so they arent be in a good position to overtake us unless we royally fuck up.

Everyone seems to think there's a richer, better owner out there with Liverpool's name tatooed on his forehead and somehow, FSG are stopping him waltzing in and returning us to the top.

Id love to believe it too but the reality is, its not there.

  12. But then Moores sold to cancer and aids. That is absolutely fucking frightening, when a simple fucking google search would have convinced you Hicks and Gillette were the wrong types from the start.

That kind of assumes moores knew what Google and the internet was!

  13. This as long as they're making cash just doesnt sit with me. They have a successful sports 'franchise' and all yanks love a winner. I dont think theyre in any game just to come second (or in our case 6th!).

I genuinely think they want to try and do things 'smarter' and not just throw shitloads of money they dont have at the club.

That word again 'if' we had won the title the season before last, would people really be saying theyre happy just to make cash?
