  1. The top scorer and the runner up in the league with both scoring more than 20 goals each, should you not expect to win the league?

People are still talking about getting 4th as some kind of goal, 4th is already secured as Spurs will never catch us, I'll be bitterly disappointed if we dont win the league.

    Its on.

I cant think of any team ending up with the two highest goalscorers in the league not winning it.

    Believe.

I'm thinking Chelsea will get a real striker in next season and Pellegrini will have adopted better to the league, while the mancs probably will get a good manager in.

This year is our best chance the way I see it.

I dont think it will take that much at all, if a team gets 82 points I'm sure they will win the title.

They will both lose 3 points against us.

Its a thread where its pointed out that when you have the two top scorers in the league you are usually guarenteed to win it so people should shift focus from 4th to 1st.

Expectations are usually formed by earlier experiences, I cant think of a team with the two top goalscorers in the league not winning the league before.

We have a great chance of doing it because of this, just take it all in and stop looking over your shoulder.

Goals are the key, we have two players who both guarentee goals, no one else have that.

What a terribly negative thread, how dare this person trying to highlight one reason why we should expect to win the league and because of the reason highlighted should have a better chance than any of the teams we are battling with.

Burn him, burn him with fire.

  2. So why didn't you admit who you where when you sent me a PM asking if I was in the EDL?

Why would I tell you anything?

You know just as well as me the reason for that question dont you so why bring it up, I know fully well you are not but going by your actions you could be.

I wanted you to engage your brain.

Anyway no more questions please, I'm not going to use the acount anymore.

  3. We are not carrying Sterling anymore and we can now expect things from him, so the answer to the original post was a few months by the look of things.

I created this account because its almost impossible to follow the discussion on the forum without being logged in.

My intention was not to post anything but I got carried away.

Cant see I have posted anything wrong though, stayed out of discussions about the clown in goal and not pointed out we have a 55% chance to keep a clean sheet witrh Agger in the team compared to 23% with Skrtel, 20% with Toure and 8% with Sakho.

    Hasta la vista.

  4. Which by definition would make not winning the title now a failure, per chance?

    Let's cut to the chase.

  6. Exactly how I saw it at the start of the season. I just hoped that the changes at some of our competitors would cause a ripple or two and allow us to sneak into fourth.

To win the league I think we need to win nine of our remaining ten games. Not a task that is beyond us but a mighty challenge. But I will keep living the dream.

  7. Gerrard has only two less goals than Rooney.

Sterling has more goals than Cazorla, Silva, or Walcott.

This season is exciting, but just imagine what next season could look like with one or two quality additions.

Next season is the key season for me, because it will bridge the gap between what we have at present, and the emergence of these young players who need another 12-18 months.

Texeiria, Smith, Chirivella, Wilson, Rossiter, Ibe, Illori, Sinclair, Hodzic, all coming in on the next wave, but between now and 2015/16 we need to buy.

I'm thinking Chelsea will get a real striker in next season and Pellegrini will have adopted better to the league, while the mancs probably will get a good manager in.

  9. I stop reading there in the realisation that you seem to be fairly obtuse.

I dont know if you went the game or not or where you watched the game,  but if you read this thread or if you discussed the game with anyone anywhere while it was being played the sub people talked about making was bringing on Sterling for Coutinho.

  10. Who's talking about Aspas or Moses being a midfielder? What makes Texeira more of a midfielder is that he's a midfielder and Sterling isn't.

So you would have  brought on Texeira then with his total of 8 minutes first team experience, but only Rodgers genius made him bring on Sterling who offer more pace in both directions and who has played fullback before?

  11. You just have to look at our bench, upon which we had those players. To suggest there were no other option is a bit daft. The normal thing to do would have been to bring on another midfielder to pack the midfield.

What makes Aspas, Moses or Texeira more of a midfielder than Sterling?

  12. Bring a midfielder on to steady things up. That's what a lot of managers would have done. Some would have even put another defender on, what with the way Southampton were cutting through us.

Rodgers pushed the wide central midfielders - Hendo and Allen - out of the diamond formation and into a deeper position. That worked straight away. Coutinho started playing better and so did we. Then on came Sterling and the rest is history. Not quite the enforced option you imply.

Which one, we dont have any?

Sterling is usually doing a good job defensively, I'd imagine better than all of Aspas, Moses and Texeira.

Sterling was the obvious choice and it was not really a more attacking sub at all as it gave us someone who works harder on his defensive duties and also the pace to hit them even more on the counter.

It would have been ridiculous to bring someone else on from that bench.
