  1. We were good all across the park.  Even usual weaknesses like Lucas, Lallana, and Lovren were decent to good tonight.  And Coutinho and Firmino were absolutely brilliant.  Plus Can bounced back from his terrible display against Palace with what would be a man of the match performance were it not for the two Brazilians in front of him playing out of their skins.

The best thing about Klopp so far is how much he's gotten out of our players.  When you take into account that we were missing our best striker, our best CM and our best defender, and we still put out that performance, you can't help but be very impressed.

Since the moment he has arrived, Klopp has said all he cares about are the players that are fit and he can't worry about the others.  Definitely proved that today!

  2. From ESPN:

Corinthians have dismissed reports that Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Alexandre Pato.

Pato's loan deal with Sao Paulo is due to end next month and he has confirmed he expects to leave Brazil amid reported interest from a host of European sides, including Barcelona and Tottenham.

Tuttomercatoweb.com reported on Saturday that the former AC Milan forward had lined up a move to Anfield in the January window, while Corinthians president Roberto de Andrade had been quoted in other publications as saying "Liverpool await" the player.

However, De Andrade told GloboEsporte.com that there have been no negotiations with Liverpool for the 26-year-old and he later added on SporTV: "Corinthians have received nothing. Nothing concrete has arrived."

Sources have also told ESPN FC that there is no truth to claims that Liverpool are pursuing Pato.

However, De Andrade said he remained confident that Corinthians -- who sent Pato on loan to Sao Paulo in February 2014 -- would be able to sell the player in January.

"I still think Pato is a great player, and I continue to be certain that we will negotiate a deal for the player on the European market," he said.

The Brazilian joined Corinthians from Milan in January 2013 on a four-year contract.

  3. Turns out that Vigouroux was dropped by Swindon due to internal disciplinary reasons, and as such his loan was subsequently cut short and he's back with us now.

Of the 3 that went to Swindon, only Jordan Williams remains. Kevin Stewart returned due to injury.

Supposedly showed up for training late and was fined 50 quid.  Paid the fine in pennies and was sent back!

  4. Those cheating other clubs!  Only Chelsea is allowed to buy a title!  TBF he does say they bought the title first.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says that the contenders for the Premier League title are trying to buy silverware.

The current Premier League champions brought in Asmir Begovic and Falcao this summer for minimal fees and have not spent more than £30 million on one player since signing Fernando Torres from Liverpool back in 2011.

The Blues have still spent significant cash on the likes of Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas, Eden Hazard and Nemanja Matic in recent years, but Mourinho claims that others are now trying to mirror the kind of spending that he enjoyed when he first took over the club in 2004 and lavished over £150m on players like Didier Drogba, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Arjen Robben and Petr Cech.

"In the beginning of Mr Abramovich coming to Chelsea, Chelsea was buying the title," Mourinho said after the friendly win over PSG on Saturday. "Now, they are buying the title. All of them, they are buying the title.

"It is up to us to be strong and to fight them and, obviously, to try and win it again, even without the big investments."

Manchester City spent £49m alone on bringing in Raheem Sterling this summer, while Manchester United and Liverpool have also spent large amounts of money on improving their squads ahead of the new season.

Italian lineup vs. Croatia on Friday.  Give the lad credit, he made the bench on a highly ranked national team.  Itandje for me.
  6. Only way I want juventus to go through is for that cunting rat evra to spontaneously combust

This is my conflict as well.  Real stand for everything that is wrong with modern football and they are destroying the game I love.  Juventus have Evra.  I can't decide which is worse.

Raiola (Lukaku's new agent): "If we'd met each other earlier, he wouldn't have played for Everton."

To add on to Mr. Chopper's post:

Romelu Lukaku's new agent has told Sudpress the Belgian is a better striker than Diego Costa and added: "If we'd met earlier, he wouldn't have signed for Everton."

Lukaku, 21, recently signed up with Mino Raiola -- who also represents Mario Balotelli, Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic -- after ending a long-term arrangement with Christophe Henrotay.

Henrotay negotiated a five-year contract when the Belgium international joined Everton from Chelsea for a club-record £28 million last July and, while Roberto Martinez has said the change of agent is no cause for concern, Raiola said the player should never have moved to Goodison Park.

"If we had met each other earlier, he wouldn't have played for Everton," he said in quotes appearing in The Guardian. "Maybe [he would be] somewhere else, maybe he would still be at Chelsea."

Lukaku's permanent exit came after Chelsea had brought in Costa from Atletico Madrid but, while Spain international is currently the Premier League's joint-top scorer with 19 goals, Raiola claims his client is a better player.

"I want to be clear: Romelu is a better striker than Diego Costa and could have done the same as the Spaniard did this season, but the Chelsea directors had decided to buy another star than giving confidence to one of their young boys," he said.

"I don't know whether, in Belgium, you realise his immense qualities. He has it all: physically, technically, in terms of his personality.

"If everyone is saying Paul Pogba will be the best midfielder in the world, then Romelu Lukaku is the Paul Pogba of attackers.

"He will become one of Europe's best forwards. I'm not saying this for fun but, when you look at everything he's accomplished at his age, it's not normal. He's already achieved great things, and he hasn't yet exploited his potential."

Lukaku has been linked with Juventus but Raiola, who has already said that the Italians cannot afford to keep Pogba, does not feel they have the financial power to sign him.

"Juventus were interested in him last summer but I want to be clear: I don't think one of the Italian teams can pay that amount of money for one player," he said. "It's almost impossible.

"We have never said he would leave at the end of this season. We will see what happens in the summer, but the Everton directors don't have to think Rom will play there for the rest of his career.

"Later, he will play for a top club like Paris Saint-Germain, the two teams from Manchester, Barcelona or Bayern Munich."
