  1. No they're not. Ings is something of an unknown quantity at this club, Origi is a promising kid and Sturridge is on the downward slide and won't give you half a season any way. Mental if we go into next season with those three.

Agreed, but since the very top strikers are beyond us we'd better be looking for goals from midfield, wide open competition there, and beef up the strikers with guys in the West Ham, Leicester mode, may not the most skillful but reliable players with great work rates and attitudes that are willing and able to press up the pitch.

  2. We're 9th in the league because collectively we've gone missing in far too many games this season, it's not just because of Henderson. Whilst he's clearly been below par, he certainly hasn't hidden.

I wasn't blaming him in particular but pointing out that the only statistics that really count are league position and cup runs. He's been shite in both and it's hard to see how we can be much worse in the league with him out and Allen in, frankly. He bottled it all season, good riddance,  and leave the armband where Sakho can find it. He plays like a Liverpool captain, and doesn't go missing like Henderson does.

  3. Hell, yes, we can win this - Anfield hasn't had a European Night like Thursday next in a long time.

Klopp showed his quality here, again. Sure he knows them, but set us up perfectly and got the performance he wanted.

  4. Ok, but they're playing at home in a quarter final of a trophy they think they can win, against their former manager and against that manages week in and week out to ply Henderson and Milner. Of course they look good.

he Everton manager, Roberto Martínez, revealed Leighton Baines has apologised for his widely reported comments questioning the team’s chemistry.

The full-back told the Liverpool Echo after the Toffees’ 1-0 defeat by Manchester United last weekend: “I just don’t feel as though the chemistry is quite there with the team on the pitch at the moment, and it hasn’t been for a while.”Leighton Baines blames Everton’s run of defeats on lack of teamwork

The United loss was Everton’s third in a row in the league and Baines’ remarks fanned the flames of frustration that have threatened to engulf Goodison Park.

Martínez insisted Baines had not meant the comments to be interpreted in the way they were.“What he intended to say is that when you’re not getting the results you lose confidence so a ball that could go in hits the crossbar and it goes out,” said the Everton manager. “At the other end, a half chance ends up in the back of the net.

    So that's what 'chemistry' means.

  6. I like Joe and think he's not been all that bad. He's just hurt all the time. If he stays he'd have to for cups and 4-5th on the depth sheet, assuming we actually get some decent midfielders.

We've got a great opportunity here as everyone has been given a fair chance and I doubt nobody would be that arsed if all or most were binned. Klopp should have a totally free hand to do as he sees fit.

  7. I think they see Mourinho as a bigger risk than reward. He will do as he always does and piss off the FA, officials et al.

Ok, but the manc spell has already worn off and they've spent the last 2 seasons seeing how the other half lives - dodgy penalties given against, not for, mystique gone, nobody giving a shit about their history.

    How does he help that?
