Due to the response from earlier research, I've just started phase 2 of a university research project looking at whether Britain is regressing to a less civil state with less social constraint and more casual aggression. The questionnaire is live at Barbaric Britain? and as you’ll see, the questions are very current. One of them focuses on the current arguments surrounding the welfare system, for example. It should only take you a couple of minutes and thanks in advance.

As many of you know, I have been conducting research on the latest incidents of racism in football and whether this is a new phase or has been present for a number of years. Today (Friday) John Terry has been removed as captain of England ahead of his court appearance in July. I'm interested to know what you think of this and whether Terry should go to the European Championships. On our topfan.co.uk research platform at Staffordshire University we've just started another research project looking at the perspectives of fans on the recent scandals involving racism in football. The questionnaire has just gone live at RACISM AND FOOTBALL IN THE 21st CENTURY and as you know is very current with incidents both on and off the pitch. Are the players to blame for the recent upsurge or has it never really been eradicated from the British game? You might think football has no problem. Have your say in our two-minute survey.

I'm working on an online survey with a colleague at Staffordshire University on fans' views towards the lack of black managers or coaches in professional football. Chris Powell and Paul Ince are the only two black managers out of 92 involved in either the Premier or Football League. It would be great to hear your thoughts on this. A colleague and I at Staffordshire University are carrying out an online survey on fans' views towards video technology in football. Fans continue to pay for tickets, subscriptions and merchandise but they are often the last to be consulted on many decisions. We've decided to put this to the test.
