I think the rest of the team didn't help him tonight. When Inter were putting 3 or 4 defenders on him, no fucker was going to help him out with an option for an easy ball.
Probably because they know it's a waste of time when he just tries to recreate his goals against Watford and City every time he receives the ball.

Ronaldo and Cavani both out injured so they might have to resort to lumping it up to the wingers which usually suits them better.

I've been thinking about this for a couple of weeks in anticipation of all our midfielders getting injured this season, and now they have I thought I'd put it out there. Given that we now have four decent, fit CBs for a moment is there any sense in considering a back three for some games? We've scored 6 goals from corners this season and Van Dijk and Matip have had 18 shots between them. Add Konate into the mix and that could be quite a potent weapon. They're all decent carriers of the ball from the back, also.
I think it'd suit Robertson/Tsimikas and Trent just fine and Fabinho plus one (Henderson or Thiago, ideally) would be resolute. My worry would be the link from that midfield to a 'flat' front three. I think it works well for Chelsea as they have Mount and Havertz to play in that area ahead of the midfield but behind Lukaku. Maybe if Firmino was dropping deep it'd work.
Probably all moot because I can't see Klopp going for it, though didn't we play a back three in one or two games a few seasons ago? I'm happy for the many cleverer than me to explain why it'd ruin our press or nullify Trent or whatever I haven't considered, but it seems like something that might be quite useful for the odd European away tie or something.

If you wanted to buy an English player or two to help with the homegrown quota, who would you go for that was gettable and good?
I doubt Leicester would sell him for anything reasonable and, being left-sided, probably not exactly what we need but I think Harvey Barnes is good. Plus we have a storied tradition of left-sided attackers called Barnes...

Had to battle four biggies in the last week or so. I thought these were autumn/winter creatures??
If you had a gadget that showed you where every spider was in your house would you use it? Would it be peace of mind to know? Or is it best not knowing?
I'd been thinking of this thread in the past week, they seem to have got their dates wrong. Loads of them about. I'd definitely rather not know how many there are in the house though.

Had my OxAZ jab a couple of weeks ago and felt a bit of a fraud. In my 30s and fine health but I'm invigilating exams for medical students this week and next, and so was offered it if I wanted it and thought I might as well.
I was a bit achy the day after but that was it.

I'm sure I'd watch it but saw this yesterday and hard to disagree.

Is the actor's name really Dominic West? If it is, fuck going to a patio party with him.
A couple of years ago I lived the next road over from Dominic West. This was discovered after looking out the window one morning to identify the prick who would cycle past with his kids on the way to school loudly singing or whistling. I remember him singing Spice Up Your Life one time. Sounds like a fever dream, I know, but it's true.

Stevie's Rangers go 1 up at Aberdeen after they missed a pen which resulted in a red card.
Wow. Must have been a really bad penalty...

Should miss our game on 1st September? Which would be good since he always scores against us.

Got to be Can's backpost volley against Hoffenheim. Beautiful move. "That's football!"

Used to love going to music festivals but now I can't think of any bands or singers I actually like any more. I just listen to film scores.

This is interesting to watch. Not sure I buy into it being intentional but some scenes do certainly seem to compliment each other, particularly towards the end:
Oh it's been taken down already. I think it originated from reddit but someone made a video of the final two episodes played simultaneously with the theory that they sync up in certain places to create meaning. I don't think there's much in it beyond Lynch's style and episode arcs being naturally similar, but certainly in the last 5-10 minutes, when the black and white scenes from FWWM and Coop leading away Laura and Judy/Sarah stabbing at the photo are played alongside Cooper and "Carrie" travelling to the house and the scenes from the pilot, it fits together very well.

I'm hoping I like it more in a few days time but right now I'm pretty gutted. Wish I was a bigger fan of driving in silence for ages.

And why are they allowed to have that World Champions badge on their shirts when we were only allowed to have it for one PL game or some bollocks like that?
