  1. It really doesn't bother me. Blow it up, along with that monstrosity of a picture of Rooney's 19 shaved chest hair, and put them on the changing room walls at Melwood and Anfield. It should act as motivation to every player kicking a ball in Liverpool's name.

Let them have their moment in the sun, it's took them long enough. But it should also act as a reminder to this club that we cannot rely on others to stop them any longer, it's about time we took the bull by the horns and re-established ourselves as the kings of our 'fucking perch'. We've largely pissed about as a club for 20 years, enough is enough.

    Well said pal

  2. Haha, and the funny thing is, i was in Liverpool in November and had a late night steaming drunk argument with 2 chavvy Everton racists. 'Babel aye? Monkey cunt.' I said 'So you hate black players? What about Saha? Yakubu? Anichibe?' To which one of them replied 'Shouldnt be playing for Everton. Monkeys'

    :wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt:

  3. Crazy morning this! cant believe what im reading. Really reminds me of when Torres left Athletico to joing us in the first. IF Chelsea bid over £50million then we have to accept. That, combined with the owners throwing in £20million or so would be enough to sign 5 or 6 top quality players. Torres isnt bigger than the club and should be treated that way. I'll be GUTTED if he goes though.. especially to those cunts :telloff:

  4. I think a loan move is best for him right now. Send him out to Blackpool or a high placed Championship side, he needs the experience. Im all for giving kids a chance..

Martin Kelly has excelled since being in the side, and hes a special player and made himself unshiftable right now. Can you really see Shelvey doing the same? I just feel he offers nothing right now in the first team. Hes young, raw, and not up to the speed of the Premier league, and yes you could argue he needs games to get used to that.. but the games should'nt be for Liverpool.

There is no harm in sending him out to a club, who will play him week in, week out. He will then return to the club having more game experience and could then be worthy of a place on the bench. I just doubt the point in having his cameo roles right now. Each to their own i guess!

  5. I think its really difficult to give any judgement on the lad. When he was first being given a chance it was out on the wing, where he clearly isnt suited, and other than Saturday, all the other opportunities he's had have been in a disfunctional side.

All said though, I like the cut of his jib. His confidence is something we could do with spreading through the team. His set piece delivery is pretty good on the whole, which tells me his technique is good.

He's a young lad, so there will be massive inconsistencies, but on the whole he's done ok so far. Quite why he's getting so many games, i do wonder, as I think Pacheco could have been a spark we have needed a few times this season, even since Kenny's re-arrival.

Aye, thats what im getting at too mate

  6. Some good points lads.. as i said, his confidence and determination are second to none and way beyond his years. Thats an amazing thing for one so young, but ive gotta agree with Hades and Dracco, hes too raw and perhaps does more frustrating things than good things right now and i guess should be judged on that in the first team

  7. So what do we all make of him so far? Personally, i have not been that impressed. Now, he is young, inexperienced and needs games, i understand that. But im judging him on what ive seen and he hasnt been that great.

What i do like about him is that he's clearly a confident lad and will try things others his age wouldn't dare (as a young Stevie G once did). He gets stuck in and isnt afraid to mix it up, good quality too.

However, he's currently well off the pace for the Premier League and struggles to keep up. He did well in the build up to the third goal on Saturday, but his pass also currently leaves alot to be desired, and he tends to lose the ball quite a bit.

Im just wondering why he's consistently being thrown in now. Kenny obviously sees something special in him, but have you? Im just kinda wondering why he always comes off the bench instead of the likes of Pacheco.

Whats your thoughts on Shelvey thus far?

  8. As I mentioned in the main thread yesterday, surely the only thing possible would be to demolish the Main Stand and build a massive 2 or 3 tier stand in its place, along with expanding the Anfield Road end to its limit.

    Kop: 12,000

    Centenary Stand: 12,000

    Anfield Road (with refrubishment): 14,000

    New Main Stand: 22,000

    New capacity: 60,000

  9. A re-developed Anfield would be fantastic, but were we told that its impossible!? I know nothing about building work or the legislations but surely the only feasible option would be to demolish the Main Stand and built a massive 3 tiered stand in its place? If this new stand had around 22,000 capacity, and if more seats were added to the corners or Anfield Road end, it would surely bring Anfield up to 60,000.

  10. His book is fantastic. Brutally honest and shameless and he doesnt hide from what he is. He knows it and is open about it, but he just cannot bury his demons. Sad story. Hes a gentleman and everyone in football loved him. What a player too. He was 30% fit at the World Cup in 94 and marked Roberto Baggio without breaking sweat!

  11. When is there ever a guarantee? Who the fuck is going to pump money into a club 18th in the league?

Well are they guaranteeing that the whole debt will be wiped? How much are they gonna invest in the team? Stadium? etc etc. Obviously this would've been discussed

  12. I'm failing to see at the moment exactly what Maxi brings to the team?? Know foreign imports take time to settle into the E.P.L but he's been here a little while now and not seen anything yet that gets me even slightly excited about his name appearing on the team-sheet!! Personally i'd rather see Kelly at right-back and Johnson pushed further on into the right-midfield position whilst Kuyt's out injured, but what do i know i'm just a humble fan ;)

Agree with you 100% there. And i also just cannot believe how Lucas gets picked every week. He will certainly start against the scum on Sunday.

    Id pick this team:

    REINA

    JOHNSON (RB)

    KONCHESKY (LB)

    CARRA (CB)

    AGGER (CB)

    POULSEN (CM)

    GERRARD (CM)

    MEIRELES (AM)

    COLE (RW)

    JOVANOVIC (OR BABEL) (LW)

    TORRES (ST)

  13. Its been a while since i've been able to say im 'excited' about a match, so your on your own there.

If we put in a decent performance tonight then i'll be optimistic about Sunday. If we are abject tonight, i'll be worried about sunday. There will be a big change in personnel between the 2 games but a good performance breeds confidence.

I dont think tonights performance will have any effect on Sunday. The team tonight will be nothing like the one on Sunday, and thats why im looking forward to it! To see if the fringe players play well and score a few goals
