In the old "Rodgers should he go thread" I left the message below.

Sadly it would appear that I am correct. We are now officially not even a top 6 team let alone a top 4 team. We need to accept that we no longer dine at the top table and but for a rich sugar daddy we never will again.

Financially we cannot compete with Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City and now Arsenal as they have the stadium sorted out. No player of quality will choose us over them. If they come in for a player we want then we will not get them. Inside two year we will be languishing behind Spurs and West Ham. Both of these will have new stadiums and both offer the pull of London. Thus at best we will be the 6th best team or the 6th most attractive to players.

We cannot compete for the best in Europe because they will go to Madrid, Barcelona, the top 4 in this country, or PSG, AC Milan or Juventus. With the new TV deal we cannot bully smaller teams like Leicester or Southampton to give us their best players.

Thus we are stuck searching for scraps for overseas or the lower leagues.

Rather than face this reality we have a naive belief that somehow a genius can be found who can buck this trend and unearth hidden talent that no-one else can spot or be a tactical genius who can outsmart lots of teams with more money. We build them up and when they cannot do the impossible we turn on them (i.e the way we turned on Benitez).

When Klopp inevitably fails we will turn on his and vilify him also. The truth is without obscene amounts of money to throw at the club we are now firmly stuck in mediocrity.

Even if we change Rogers then so what?

    It will change nothing.

The fact is that we have arrogantly pissed around 20 years of dominance and goodwill. We are not trading on past glories to raise a sufficient level of income to pretend we are still a big club.

We aren't at the top table anymore. Financially we cannot compete. So which ever manager we have in 2015-16 are left buying players from the 2nd or 3rd tier or young and raw talent. Neither of these approaches will get us back to being a leading force in the game.

There are serious structural problems with our position. We need to compete off the pitch or at least substantially improve our position before we can think about on pitch activities,

Changing the manager will change little to nothing"

Totally agree with everything you've said and I've been saying the same myself for years. We need a sugar daddy or we compete with Stoke, West Bromwich etc. It will get so bad that we'll, as well as supporting liverpool, also support a big club

I don't think I've hated a player more than him ever

  4. the same unbalanced squad destroyed Chelsea and city though

Fuck off you idiot, how long you going to roll out them 2 freak results. If we played them both again 20 times we would lose every one of them

  5. "The Stretford End said penalty..."

Yeah, those days are loooooong gone.

My fear is them days will soon be back

UTD together with Fergie had refs and fa in their pocket. With Moyes and LVG they haven't.

Mourinho together with Chelsea never had the refs in side

UTD together with Mourinho will have it their own way the same as they did with Fergie

Worse thing that can happen to English football is Utd getting mourinho

  6. Yeah, he has looked OK for 2 or 3 games, it's the level of shitness he's produced in the other games that concern me. There's no doubting the lad has talent, I just don't think we'll see it consistently in this League.

    I doubt he has talent
  7. The thing is, Utd have a half decent players that can turn things around under the right manager. Our squad on the other hand is shite from top to bottom. There's not a man alive that could polish the turd that is the current lfc squad.

How the fuck did we spend 300 million and end up with that squad?

  8. He's been fucking woeful every single game.

Even the man city game he missed three easy chances

Thank fuck some else has a brain. He was shite against city. I hate it when pundits assess performance on the result. He missed easy chances cos he's a fucking shithouse fanny

  9. Where do you stand on the issue?

I called radio city regarding this under the Houllier era. They would not put me on cos I said we don't boo enough and should target players.

We pay enough in money and emotion, more than any cunt the club employs. I'm not a prick that thinks we are above booing or its not the liverpool way. We need to let players managers etc what we think if them.

Anyone who disagrees has got to be happy with being smashed (predictably so) by watford and happy that after 25 years we are the furthest we've ever been from winning it

  10. The worrying I read on Klopps appointment is that he was wanted as he thinks the majority of the squad are up to it and he can work with them

If true, he and we are fucked

I would not keep a single one for the first team. I'm not knee jerking I've been saying it for ages.

I would literally just sack the lot and start again or days like today will come thick and fast and that new stand won't be filled
