I don;t think Hodgson is much of a step backward from Rafa at all really, when you look at either manager in isolation, sure, Rafa has the better pedigree. But shit went bad last season under Rafa's management, a situation i don't think he could have turned around being honest......we'd of continued to slide i think.

Rafa wanted him out. He said he wanted to go to Chelsea last month and to paraphrase "it was down to Liverpool" So if he's made his own decision, the chamipons of England are after him and he's 30, I think we'd all leave. He's hardly been first choice here and can be easily replaced. Whether he will be is another question for another thread. To say this is asset stripping is laughable and frankly just scaremongering.

Purslow mentioned in the SOS minutes that there was a 3-4 yr financing deal on the table if we paid the debt doen by £100m. There was no suggestion that this had to be new money.

Purslow was tasked with finding this, the Rhone Group came and went but Purslow failed to find investment.

I beleive they are desperate to hang onto us and that player sales is their next option. I think they believe that RBS have not got the balls to call it in and that the financial markets will recover in the future, at which point they will get more money for us.

They dont care whether we are successful or have good players.

I know the World Cup ( that England are bidding for ) is 8 years away, but the decision is this December ( i think ) Imagine the value of football assets if England are even chosen to host a World Cup, never mind that the value will rocket "when football comes home"

RBS was due to call in the loan soon but that's not going to happen now with Broughton's "here to sell the club" appointment, it's bought The Twats enough time and a transfer window to asset strip and pocket the money themselves without the pressure of paying off the banks.

 

What's in it for Broughton? A hefty wedge for sure, and the delivery of Torres to Chelsea perhaps?

 

Slighty paranoid maybe, but I would put nothing past them and this apparent quest to appoint a permanent manager suggests to me G&H have no plans to sell us any time soon, and certainly not while we still have a chance of getting out of this mess with our best players in tow.
