  1. I think everyone would agree we would prefer Reina to stay - but it looks like he wants to go home, so we have to make the best of the situation.

As fee's go its pretty much like for like, but the Belgian is 6 years younger and will be on far smaller wages. I don't see any negative in this deal. Mignolet is a very good keeper.

While I agree that Mingolet is a good keeper, I don't think he is at Pepe's level yet at least. I think the wages is the key here.

  2. You think the owners are forcing Rodgers to sell Reina?

Not necessarily. But I think initially the club were as open to a move to Barca as Pepe was ( before Valdes decided to stay ) as they seem to want the higher earners off the books.

I think that Mongolet is not as good as Pepe, but the club will be happy as they will probably pay him less wages

  3. Liverpool council bosses buy Everton FC's training ground Finch Farm in £12m deal - Liverpool Echo

Liverpool council bosses have bought Everton FC’s training ground in a £12m deal which will ease the Blues’ financial pressures.

Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson confirmed to the ECHO that the land deal had gone through.

He said the council had used its “borrowing power” to buy Finch Farm, in Halewood, in order to rent it back to the club.

The club already leased the land from a private company, Finch Farm Ltd, but the ECHO understands the terms of this deal mean the Blues will make “significant” savings on their regular rent payments.

But reaction from fans was mixed, with some calling the deal “morally wrong”. The council insisted it was a “win-win” situation for city taxpayers.

Under the terms of the deal, the council stands to make more money back from rent in the longer term than it has put up for the purchase.

Mayor Anderson said: “It’s a good deal for us and for them.

“We will get revenue from it, and it frees up money for the club.

“When I was approached to see if we could assist, we were happy to, and after a few months of negotiation it was done.

“This nails the lie that the council does nothing for Everton. We will do what we can when we can.”

Mayor Anderson said the income to the council would be invested into services and that the deal was “risk-free”.

The club moved to Finch Farm after leaving Bellefield in West Derby, after a protracted battle to gain planning permission for a housing development on the site.

The sale of that land to Bellway homes was reported to have made the Blues around £8m.

But in 2010, the year the Bellefield deal went through, the club’s debt increased by £7m, leaving it £44.9m in the red.

Everton FC is yet to confirm any details surrounding the deal, and information around how much it will pay in rent to the council and how much it stands to save are likely to be tightly guarded on the grounds of commercial confidentiality by both parties.

  4. Marko and the fridge. I have no idea who you are but you're both dribble chinned rock munchers and I wish aids upon you and your families.

Fucking place has gone to dogs. I'm a forum celebrity and I don't have the time to deal with your shite... Somebody take my fucking picture.

Look.... I don't want to be your friend son, I know you don't have any, you know, real proper human friends that are not on a computer, but your barking up the wrong tree here.

  5. The transfer window isn't even open yet, the season has been over for less than a fortnight. Don't let that stop you cutting your wrists though, no seriously.

Tell you what....I'll wait for you to let me know when it is acceptable to debate comings and goings at LFC.

Now run along, don't forget now

  6. This is your post earlier!

So again, you clearly stated we are buying Pearce despite him not signing and only being linked. My point was that you ignored other players that were linked, not at any stage did I say they were signing - I clearly pointed out the flaw in your original statement was that you picked players linked who suited your negative perspective and ignored others.

Which you are still doing by stating as negative the argument that good players will come. The two posts above seem to be saying - we are linked with/buying shite which is why Luis is leaving, but we won't get anyone good anyway cos we are not good enough.

You conveniently chose to ignore my reply to your " leap of faith" post. Like ive said, you are entitled to have an opinion different to mine.

My perspective is that to finish higher than 7th, we need better players as over a 38 game season, the League doesn't lie. We may well sign all the good players you mention, we may well not - We may even sign Pearce, however it will be harder to progress if we sell our best player(s)

I'm sure players look at ambition of clubs, we have an opportunity with 4 of the teams who finished above us having new managers to take the bull by the horns.

  7. Saying "no wonder Suarez is leaving if we're only signing Alex Pearce and Kolo Toure" is not having an opinion, it's called being a fucking retard.

So a world class player shouldn't expect their club, who says that they are in the business of winning trophies to sign players of a comparable quality in order to progress towards winning the trophies. We have signed one ( in my opinion ) Coutinho ( potentially anyway ) who may be good enough.

But that's ok - you are entitled to your opinion

  8. It is has everything to do with being foreign and not from Liverpool, thats why Carragher stayed here is whole career and other players do the same.

Anyway i dont really care about that, he can go if he wants to.

Personally i would have sold him even if he didnt want to go, but only for 50 million+

The reason i've been saying that is because we need a team not an individual, and we need quality in other places and selling him for 50 million would allow us to move forward as a club and it gives us the chance to make the whole squad stronger

Plenty of players in the world can score goals, and we shouldnt cry our eyes out thinking Suarez is the only one.

In Rodgers system, we create plenty of chances and there are plenty of players in the world capable of putting them away

I always thought Suarez was damn greedy at times too

you may be right, and only time will tell whether we do, or are allowed to invest the money wisely ( i.e whether Rodgers gets his hands on all of the money and buys the right players )

I'm just of the opinion that any team that finishes 7th. with Suarez will be weaker without him. It is easier to sell top players and continue successfully from a position of strength, as we have in the past. We don't have that now.

We are a club that needs to build, but its hard to build when you keep on losing your better players. It just starts the cycle again

  9. But you are a mong , and you weren't debating in a fashion that befits this great forum - you were moaning and bleating, like a little .......mong.

what, like having the cheek to have a different opinion - How you can debate with someone who just posts "mong"

  10. I think the problem is that your basic premise e.g. we are signing crap like Pearce is wrong, and your methodology is suspect as analysis is based on specific signings and ignores others which would render the premise suspect!

Stating that the earth is wrong isn't a different opinion it is wrong! Stating Luis is leaving because we are signing shite like Pearce is not a different opinion, it is wrong.

I replied to you earlier around specific signings - it is actually you who is taking the leap of faith and using being " linked " to good players as a badge of honour.

I think you are being naïve to think that top quality players, who are wanted by more successful clubs ( presently anyway ) do not look at the signings made by their club, who finished 7th, before looking at their own future.

  11. Ok fuck off Marko

Lets get back to talking about transfers

As i have been saying for months on here, Suarez should be sold. People on here who had Suarez pyjama's and posters on their walls went ape shit

These foreign players have no loyalty....you should have learned that after Torres

Anyway his value is at its highest, he wont be scoring 30+ goals next year (in my opinion) and has 3 years on his contract

50+ million and we would be mental not to sell him and by 2-3 top players with the money.

I dont think its got anything to do with being foreign, more like a club in our position can only use the " give us one more year, we are building " argument so long before any player thinks that they may be wasting their career.

I disagree about that Suarez should be sold, but you are entitled to your opinion and i'm not going to call you a mong for it.

For clarity - If Suarez wants to go, fine, let him go and get a good price for him - but, if the club was showing signs of competing at the highest level, we may not have this problem as often as we do.

I don't think we are any closer to winning the league than we were in 2009 ( and there are lots of reason for that ) The players might think that too, what are we doing to convince them otherwise??

  12. This thread has turned to complete eye aids. Thanks Fridge (who has defo been here before) and Marko.

Why ? Because I happen to hold a slightly different point of view to some others on here and don't see why I should be abused for it? The thread goes down hill when some people would rather call others " mongs" instead of actually debating a point of view.

I make no apology for having a different point of view, please try to change my view rather than just calling me a mong

  13. Its not the first time, dickhead - Check your old fucking posts ( Sorry don't know how to do it cos I don't live my life on here )

why would I register with you!!! - you need to get out more

I've told you before, I don't want to be your friend, i'm sure you have lots of virtual friends on here and i'm sure that matters to you very much - maybe you should concentrate on them??

  14. Marko is most definitely a mong and so is his nan.

Call me mad but I usually wait until the end of the window before making judgement.

P.s. the fridge reeks of somebody who has been here before... And he's a mong. This place is starting to feel like an outpost of Mongolia.

I'm sure you fancy me or something, the way you follow me around to give pointless abuse is a bit disturbing - maybe you need help - Wool.

As usual, you don't offer anything other than ill informed knobhead comments - stay behind your keyboard, forum celebrity prick

  15. Sturridge and Coutinho! Just ignore them, focus on the previous window because that suits. I'm judging our management on their last signings, not the previous ones.

And Pearce has been linked as much as Papadopoulos, Eriksen and Tello - however you chose to take the leap of faith and include him as a signing. Again, you could have been consistent and just focussed upon the player we have signed - but that wouldn't have had the dramatic effect that listing all the lesser players would have.

Not ignoring them at all - Coutinho has been great, sturridge - not too sure about his consistency, but all points to good.

As with all clubs - you can take a list of signing and make a argument as to success or not - Sahin, Borini, Allen etc

It is actually you that is taking the leap of faith by mentioning everyone we have been linked with and using it as some badge of honour. Evertonareyou

The players we have now finished 7th - You can make a point that it may have been different if Coutinho or Sturridge would have been bought last Summer - but they weren't.

I want to better 7th - Don't think it will happen with Toure, Aspas and no Suarez

  16. Yes but you are not making an assessment on 'what you know' you have cherry picked the worst of the rumours to suit your little girly cry!

We have also been linked with Eriksen, Papadopoulos, Alderweild, Zouma, Tello, Atsu and Ilori but for some reason you chose to ignore those didn't you!

In short - you are not going on what is known, you are jumping on any sense of negativity to prove how right you were about the owners.

I think the key here is being " linked " We can be linked with just about anyone, whilst we are actually signing Toure, agreed a fee for Aspas and a senior official photographed with Pearce.

You are right, i'm still very suspicious about the Owners, but that's just my opinion.

We cant change where we have finished in the league for the last few years, but what we can do is try to make it better and I don't think any of the players that we have been known to either have spoken to or signed would take us forward - but as long as we are linked to good players that is ok isn't it - evertonareyou??

  17. So we make that assesment at the start of the window rather than the end?

You might be right, it might get better - but as fans, we can only make an assessment on what we know and right now it doesn't look good does it??

Losing suarez and the beginning, middle or end of the transfer window can not be good news for a team that wants to progress.

Maybe I just have less confidence in what the Owners are in this for than ypu do

  18. Yes because that will be the sum of our transfer activity.

Well... Not necessarily, but i'm sure you will take the point that if we are looking to move to the next level, we should be keeping our best players and buying similar quality. It just doesn't inspire confidence.

We are a team that has finished 7th ish for the last couple of years so there are many reasons why we will probably lose Suarez and I think it will be a mix of all of them which will see him go, surely we would have a better chance of keeping good players if we show some ambition ourselves. I'm sure Suarez would find it a lot easier to deal with "The British Press" if we were in the mix for winning things
