  1. They are ayre is their representative as they wouldn't be able to start negotiations with anyone.

    If that is true, then it sort of proves my point as to why he hasn't been sacked. The Owners are obviously happy with how he does things. And if we carry on like this, we will not compete.

  2. The ability to attract top talent stopped (or was made harder) by the lack of champions league football.

    What I'm struggling to reconcile is where suarez fits into the club's supposed willingness to just cruise along and not really do anything.

    Ok seeing as you asked so nicely.

    We may not have a " lack of Champions League " if we did the deals on players we want quicker, players who the Manager rate and feels would improve us before any other club had the chance to come in and gazump us.

    As far as Suarez goes, I think that his future is linked to CL football, the new contract was a win/win situation for him. He gets a nice pay rise ( fully deserved ) if we don't make CL he leaves for a team who has for a pre determined fee.

    Surely you can agree that the better the squad, the better chance of CL footy, the more chance we keep/attract top talent.

  3. The person you were responding too.

    Incidentally where does Suarez fit into this conspiracy?

    There is no conspiracy. Just my opinion that we need to change the way we operate or we risk stagnating ( again ) You have to show ambition and I'm not sure whether the will is there. How long do you think we will be able to attract/keep top talent ? We all hoped that the days of shit transfer windows were over, I just don't think they are.

    Never mind, the wait and see and I reserve judgement brigade can do that til the cows come home. I'd rather we got our arses into gear, if that's what we really want.

  4. let me try and put it more simply.

    FSG and ayre are part of the committee.

    Who mentioned the Commitee? I'm sure you will agree that the Owners are able to remove whoever they like. I just think that they don't really want to and they are happy to drift along. Simply put

  5. Ayre, the owners and the 'commitee' aren't separate entities.

    Of course they are.  Ayre is an employee and as such can be removed by the Owners if they dont think he is up to it.  They were quick enough to remove Commolli when we spent too much on shite.

    How many more transfer windows are we going to operate like this ??  how many players are we going to miss out on??  How long can we keep an ambitious Manager and top players while we quibble??

  6. If I was a cynical person, I wouldn't say Ayre is incompetent, I would say he is doing exactly as his boss is telling him. Better we blame Ayre and the Committee than the custodians.

    You keep repeating the same "mistakes" and there are no consequences, that would make me think they are not mistakes.

    This is what i think also - I have to question whether there is any real motivation to take the club to the next level, or just have a club that trundles along collecting sponsorship and TV deals.  Ayre is an absolute tit - but you would have thought that he would have been removed by now if he was not doing his job properly.

    Whilst our Owners still know little about football, they are business savvy, if they wanted a top class football administrator, they would have got one by now but i suspect they have stuck with Ayre as a proper MD might want to move the club forward.

  7. Bingo!

    So:

    * we spend 3 months scouting a player;

    * we verbally agree a fee and personal terms;

    * player expresses a desire to come to us, rejecting German and Italian clubs in the process;

    * Ian Ayre seeing that, reduces the agreed amount by 50% and then proceeds to sit on his arse for the best part of 3 weeks doing fuck all;

    * Basle get insulted (and rightly so), then start making noises to interested parties;

    * Chelsea comes in, pays around the same amount which was initially agreed with us and takes that player for good - all within a day or so;

    'kinell! Ian Ayre makes Dell Boy look like George fucking Soros!

    And it is not the first time either - last summer the Harley-Davidson-riding prick did the exact same thing.

    In all this time, the yanks calling themselves "custodians" of this club are all too happy to watch from distance what's unravelling, line their collective pockets and let that incompetent idiot Ayre do their bidding, quite literally. Did I miss anything?

    Spot on

  8. FSG want to play with other peoples money and keep their own, to run the club at least ( Donuts, Warrior Standard Chartered etc ) and don't seem to like putting their hand in their pocket.

    When our up and coming Manager complains ( which he will do eventually ) We will just replace him with another up and coming Manager who, initially is just happy to be here and will cite that we have replaced him because he has won fuck all.

    I keep on hearing " we have the means to compete" - then prove it

  9. FWIW - I don't think the Owners actually want CL football unless they can get it on the cheap.  They take calculated risks and will look at the situation where:

    There is 4 CL Places - 1 will be taken by City, 1 by Chelsea ( as they have both won the lottery ) therefore the remaining places are between us, Arsenal, Mancs, Spurs and any other side punching above its weight ( Blueshite,Newcastle etc )

    They have the money to compete with the 6 competing for 3rd/4th but that will cost millions and you also have to keep doing it.  So why not keep your millions,  keep the asset ticking over and get the TV money anyway??  This way there is no risk of spending millions and not getting top 4

    I feel sorry for Rodgers as he genuinely seems to want to push forward but as an ex Manager famously said " we talk and talk and talk "

    If you have less money ( and we have ) then you either buy the likes of Salah cheaper before anyone else gets a sniff ( i.e. instead of Ayre fucking about ) or you put your hands in your fucking pockets.

    We are playing better in the league than we have for ages and have a good chance of 4th.  I don't know whether we will have such a good opportunity again

  10. I would be amazed if Arse bid £50m. If they did we would have a bit of a dilemma but Madrid or Bayern will step up i'm sure. As for blaming anyone I think our fans are well aware of the situation . Some will say fair play to Suarez, some will call him an ungrateful cunt etc etc

    What fans like myself are more concerned about is not this fucking circus but the FSG model which simply isn't going to fly and which the Suarez situation is the sympton not the disease. We are now down the pecking order unable to keep our best players or attract top class talent to come in.

    There is no time to team-build from the bottom with a rookie manager and our current owners are unable or unwilling to make the huge investment needed to reverse our decline. We need a Citeh style lottery win whilst we are still a global brand.

    I'm concerned about the FSG model too. We are gonna lose player after player until/unless we are competitive again. I just have this feeling that Arsenal will up their bid

  11. No it's not. It's about money, not having to sell to another PL club and our ability to line up any sort of half decent replacement given our lack of CL football.

    I see what your saying but, if Arsenal came up with enough money we would sell to them as much as we all hate that.

    What I was aluding to is that each side ( LFC and Suarez) would like to blame the other for him leaving as they could feed that line to the fans

  12. Seems to me that sympathetic Arsenal journo's are being briefed by agents and Arsenal. Suarez wants out but doesn't want to be the one to be seen to be driving the issue. Once he has left, he then wants to give an interview saying that Liverpool wanted to sell him. I think the club do actually want to sell, but they want a transfer request so Suarez can then be blamed for the move.

    Its all about the hearts and minds of fans etc now - I think both sides want the move, he will move - but each wants to blame the other to save the backlash

  13. I think the long term plan stuff is a pipe dream what happens next year if someone wants coutinho, were not going to keep players happy constantly pointing to the future our best players will not wait. Are we going to get lucky and it all falls into place at the right time. I doubt it, we look like we are going to do an Ajax be a school for young footballers then flog them as soon as they're ready to fly. When will we learn we need to buy more than one class player, we buy one then spend two year surrounding them with a plethora of jobbers until the player thinks fuck this I ain't got time nor the patience for this shit so we sell him and replace him and repeat. I'm coming to the opinion FSG just couldn't give a fuck they want us financially as sound as possible so they can sell us, the team can tick along as cheap as possible with a small a wage bill as possible. Just show some fucking intent instead of bargain basement hunting. We are not suddenly going to become this fucking super smart team who outwits the rest of the footballing world. Stop wasting time buy some fucking good players if you get them then sell the shit you don't want.

    I've been saying this for what seems like forever now.
