A third 90+ points season would be quasi super human. As someone has said above, no one's ever done it. City improved their squad last season, only losing an old Kompany, buying Rodri and Cancelo, yet dropped by about 20 points.
I don't think it's a lowering of expectations. I think it would be the natural order of us needing to start a bit of a rebuild. I think changing our style a bit and swapping Thiago for Wijnaldum could freshen things up right now, though.
Losing Kompany though was crucial.

See you are trotting that same spiel over agin. No one is asking for big names but a reinforcement. And its all well and good saying we will nurture through the academy, we have only Trent who is a first team regular who has made the grade in 5 years. Curtis could possibly be number two, its a big season for him.
To be honest I was answering your question. As far as your comment for reinforcement, we have signed a left back that our fans have been asking for. Fact is our fans want more and I understand that. New fresh faces to offer more competition. We have signed a good left back and are in the market for additional players.
FSG and Klopp are being calculated, not holding back.

Second. I think we're due for a come down a bit like Man City did this season. I think despite us becoming a results machine if you will, the margins on some of these results were thin and our style of football is becoming a bit too pragmatic.
I don't think City will win it this year.

Does Jurgen plan on staying around for as long as Ferguson then? Because if he isn't this is not gonna work in the long run.
The investment in the training ground and focus on the academy are for the future. Klopp is a genius and the moves he has made can only benefit us in the long run, even if he will not be with us.
Just saying FSG are shit just because we haven't bought well known players does not take into account the improvements they have made. Overall they have been good sports owners and have contributed to our success.

The model fits both FSG and Klopp style.
We have bought very well over the years (when needed) and thanks to Klopp development focus we have seen players come through the academy ranks and play for the first team. Investment is not just buying players but also investing in the infrastructure. The training grounds, Anfield and the academy have all improved under FSG.
Our fans are feeling a bit left behind as they see other teams buy known names whilst we are seemingly standing still (understandably so), but that does not paint the full picture. We don't need another Andy Carroll fiasco so I completely understand the reasoning for not buying every player in sight that may be good for us.
I actually trust Klopp more so than FSG but I cannot ignore the fact that we are where we are because of FSG and Klopp working together.

4-0 or 7-0, it's still 3 points. they already outscore us against the shit. the worry would be if he could change some of those defeats to wins and my guess would be yes. also, i think jesus is fucking crap, if it means he has less game time, that is also likely to help them.
Apologies but allow me to disagree. Messi is not really needed at City in an attacking sense. If anything him going to City will only exasperate an already on-going issue at City, their defending (fees and wages will most likely play a part). As mentioned they already outscore us so no big change there. In my opinion for City to improve they need a quality CB and defensive midfielder. He may also upset the dressing room with his behind the scenes antics as proven in last few days.
I'm in no way criticising his talent as he is the best footballer going. But him going to City has many drawbacks for their squad.

From 16:40 is where they start discussing the game and Collina. Listening to it now.

Everton Twitter seems to be awash with conspiracy theories the last couple of days.
Goals change games so if it was a bad decision, you get up and go again. I remember back in 2008 Gerrard free-kick goal was wrongly ruled out for offside against Stoke. We don't seem to go on about it years later.

A kind reminder.
People were gutted but not surprised by what he did.
Do we really want him back?

They aren't very good, have lots of areas to improve and have money to burn from a couple big sales. Would be confusing if they weren't buying a bunch.
They already have good potential young players coming through. Signing all these players will surely impede their progress. Plus all the egos that may be looking for game time has increased.
Klopp has always worked with a small squad and we have seen the benefits of that ideology. This is the other side of that coin; overflow the squad with proven talent.

Won't happen I'm afraid. As much as I love his temperament, he might be be deemed a wild card. Loyalty counts in our current team, and sadly he has none.

A bit concerned and confused by Chelsea transfer strategy.

Just wondering how would everyone feel if Coutinho scored the winning goal for Bayern.

This doesn't feel like a final. It's not just the fans missing but I am not getting a sense of urgency from either team.
This could easily be a pre-season friendly.
Go fuck yourselves FSG

Agreed but you also need to account the negotiations of selling and buying players that Edwards oversaw. Yes FSG are not saints are are looking at the numbers more than they care for the club but they are not the worst owners in the world.
