I can't wait to see Pachecho tonight. He has really been impressive in his short cameo's this season and deserve's his first start.

Would be a good signing. Can play anywhere behind or as the lone striker. He would cost around the 12 million mark though and if we have that kind money we really should be looking to spend 10 million of it on Connor Wickham.

Hopefully Pacheco will get an opportunity now to play large chunks or even start a few games. The kid has more vision and a better first touch than the majority of the first team already.

We have a fairly thin squad at the moment so I would be happy to see some of the better young players getting game time in the league. I think Pacheco is definitely ready, as is Kelly. Shelvey and Wilson have to be considered as well, although the latter has more quality blocking his way to the first 11. And I think ANY decent wide players at reserve/youth level have to be in with a shout given our obvious dearth of quality in those positions.

 

Without getting carried away, we potentially have a whole team at youth/reserve level who could step up in future if they keep on developing:

Shelvey is a quality player who has great vision. Great short and medium passing game. If we eventually put together a team with plenty of movement he will pick off killer passes all day.

I think we should sign Diame from Wigan. He was really impressive last season and I think he would be within our price range assuming we sell Mascherano.

The reserves also kicked off their pre season campaign today. With most of the reserves in Switzerland it was a few new faces on show.

They played Wrexham away and it ended 0-0.

just watched the highlights of this game at the footy lounge but I can/t post the link to the game in this post. So if someone could do the honours that would be much appreciated. Quality signing and his chances of staying fit will be helped by the new medical team we now have on board.

Spain should be playing Arbeloa at left back to counter Robben. Do that and they'll win comfortably otherwise the Dutch have a good chance on the counter as Robben will shit all over Capdevilla

I've been thinking exactly the same thing. If the dutch can get the ball out to Robben he could have a field day against Capdevilla.

I think hes a very good player now who will evetually become top class. He can pick a pass, quick feet and has a good footballing brain, always choosing the right passing option over a good range. He is also a skilful player with solid technique and a more than average dribbler, a good shot with a bit of guile. If we were to sign him I think he would become excellent very soon with better players around him.
