  1. For sure.

Providing they have them outside the ground, because my dad couldn't get them outside te Ataturk.

Ah, the Programme Tent at the Attaturk. Just arrived at the ground after the momentous coach journey, spotted the programme tent and guess what, it was now the men's bogs.Well, if you cant beat them, join them

  2. Nice place Shrewsbury.Good ale houses in the town centre, and the accent is definately not soft Welsh. Listen closer, and you may hear a hint of the Worcester,Hereford Twang. The fans all hate Wrexham with a passion and it brings home to me that much of the passion in football is usually at the lower league grounds, sadly, nowadays. The Welsh always get their revenge, mind you, because when it pisses down in mid Wales, it washes the Town Centre!

  3. Not one of his supporters but I said to my mate in the pub after the game" He made the first goal, had a cracking shot which nearly took the bar off and scored the winner from the spot." Even I thought that was some cameo.

If he trains hard, he'll be on the bench at least.

  4. The table never lies Warnock and through your misjudgement(bad management) you contrived to get relegated when a couple of weeks ago, you were almost safe. You got what you deserved because you would not go the extra yard to ensure safety before the last game of the season.Oh dear Colin Wanker !

  5. Left school at 16, worked in a bank, fucked off to travel around Europe when I was 19. Came back and re trained to be a computer operator.Got on a course at Central Liverpool College where you did 3 a levels in 9 months which got me onto a course at Liverpool University. Graduated at aged 27 and suddenly in 1980 the only career advice I got was either join the Cops or leave Liverpool. Ended up in Leicestershire. Was going to join the Navy when I was 18, but all the best jobs meant signing on for 7 years. Fucked that and swallowed the anchor!

  6. Anybody remember late sixties, early 70's, I think, when Liverpool fielded a reserve side out and won. They still got done for fielding a weakened side. However, in the days of large squads, it is impossible to get done for that. We did have enough chances last week to have won and if you saw the side that finished the game, it was not that weak.As Paul Jewell has said, teams are in the position they are in because they have not won enough games

  7. I'm a smoker and frankly as people have said, if you cant go two hours without a fag, then seek help immediatly and what would you do on the 4 hour flight to Athens. We dont expect people to piss in your pocket anymore and therefore the same goes for smoking.

  8. Me and my mate are off next Saturday for a week. Staying in a villa about 5 hours from Athens by coach. We have tickets (7credits, we were actually part of the 750 who actually made it to Istanbul last December) Good luck to everybody who goes without a ticket. I hope you all make it to the game.

  9. Apparently my article was posted on the official site forums, and one of the responses was 'if you don't like it, go and support someone else'.

Not sure who the poster was, possibly Rick!

Excellent article by the way Dave.I initially thought that this was just a Fan Card/STH issue but the problem goes far beyond that.I have been amazed by the strength of feeling shown by so many fans in the last week and it has certainly brought home to me (and I am an old buggar, although not necessarily wiser) that all is not well in the Chief Executive's Office. The figures do not add up and whilst UEFA have not helped, the lack of transparency at the club is not on!

    Steve

  10. Yep. Their danger comes from Gattuso winning the ball, Pirlo pulling the strings and Kaka creating chances for himself and the forward/s. But doesn't playing Momo and Mascherano say to Milan 'attack us'?

Gattuso is not the problem at all. Pirlo and Kaka are the main threats. Play Gerrard in the middle with our Argentinian Buddy and we can nullify the threats of both Pirlo and Kaka. We need pace down the wings because their defence (as we know from Istanbul) is shite. Gattuso is doing a very good job at the moment. He is writing the pre match speech for Rafa with his 'Revenge shite'. Carry on my Milanese buddy. You are proving to be as bright as Totti who let's face it is not the brightest lamp in the street!

  11. Season ticket holders not getting priority is an absolute fucking disgrace!!!:notamused:

Season Ticket Holders had the chance initially to get their tickets without too much pain. They could easily get their tickets for each game without the hassle the rest of us had to endure. Anyway, my prediction is that anybody with 6 who wants to go will probably get a ticket. Not everybody on 7 will take up their options and if you remember 2 years ago, Lonsdale Travel were eventually allowing fan card holders with 5 credits to get a package. That's how I got to Istanbul. Hold your nerve , those with 6. I reckon you will get the opportunity.

  12. Just thought about this, fuck me pink talk about devil and the deep blue sea!

Andy Grey with all his 'And I hate saying that Martin, I really do' (if the Mancs are playing too could be unbearable)

Or Townsend and Earl with all their useless pitch-side bollocks.

Neither Arm Chair Red. I'll be going to Athens.

  13. Really?

    Chelsea - Played 35 - Points 80

    Liverpool - Played 36 - Points 67

Liverpool spent about 80 million since Rafa took charge

Chelsea spent about 170 million in same period.

They've averaged 13 points more than us over those 3 years.

The point I am making is that we are not the underdogs as we were in 2005. This is Cup Football and in that respect, we are as good as any in the last 4.

  14. Heard a rumour a couple of months back that Ablett was being considered for the academy job, and Gary Mac would take over the ressies.

Personally I like Paul's suggestion of Gary Mac being the 'personal' link between Rafa and the players.

I don't know what qualifications Miller has to run an Academy though, has he worked with youngsters before?

Good call . The only thing that makes me think it may not happen yet is that he is very much a family man and may not want to up roote his kids from Leicestershire. Often seen in Loughborough with his lads doing the basic things like taking them for a hair cut etc. He spoke to my lad in the Barbers, whilst his lad was having a haircut.

  15. Stevie Heighway was a good man who had the following 'weaknesses'

He cared about the young lads who came to the Academy

He felt that if they made it at another level, then he had succeeded.

He was always aware that only a minority of thr lads would ever make it at a professional level.

Whatever, the achievements of the Academy, he always kept a dignified silence in the media.

I for one am proud of his achievements but then I am a bit biaised.I was at wembley in 1971 when he scored that goal . He was a hero thereafter for me and it culiminated in the pass to Terry Mac in 1977 when he made it 1 nil. Enjoy Steve, and thanks for everything that you have done for the club
