  1. Hi, I'm Ciaran, I live in Dublin and I'm 31.

When I was 6 months old, two guys called Billy who were over painting the house told my dad I looked exactly like the chimp in the Ronald Reagan film Bedtime for Bonzo. My family thought this was funny, and my dad and my big brother still call me Bonz or Bonzo.

When I was about 5, the same big brother told me I had to be a Liverpool supporter or he'd beat me up. I chose to not get beaten up and I've never looked back.

I heard about this site from a couple of Reds at my old job, who said that not only was it good, it was also the only Liverpool site accessible from behind the corporate firewall.

I really like TLW, I've lurked around here for a while and just started posting recently. There's a great bunch of characters who post here, it's worth wading through the odd argument to get to the good stuff.

Better go off and pay some money now, thanks for pointing it out Paul.

  2. For me Jamie is up there with John Barnes as fav players go... a career robbed by injury. Met his brother once as he was sitting a row behind at Crystal Palace - apprently he could have gone all the way as a right back (I think) but he also had dodgey knees and had to give up before he even started so he turned to modelling....
Conversely, Harry Redknapp could have gone all the way as a model but he had a dodgey face so he turned to football

  3. "Tubby Benitez" - ouch my aching sides.

How old is the author of that article? 4?

Tubby - ho ho ho. Give him a show with Chris Morris.

It just shows how professional, sane and generally fantastic Benitez is, if 'tubby' is the best they can come up with after 2 seasons.
  4. I'd love to see him here again, but I guess if it will cause disruptions it's best if we leave it.

Yeah he did well when he was here, I think he really liked Anfield too.

But you can't argue with Robbie - I just looked it up, he also said Anelka was "'a selfish bastard who just played for himself"

    :thumbdown

  5. Sky Sports

Another star retires from international football.

    From the article:

"I've had three major championships - Euro 2000, World Cup 2002 and World Cup 2006. None have gone right or worked out for me for various reasons.

"You say in life, if one thing goes wrong, you're unlucky. Two, maybe you're really unlucky. If it's three, you have to look at yourself and say maybe something's not right there.

Does anyone know what Poll's cockups were in 2000 and 2002?
