  1. My point is and what you've missed, is insua was shite and is shite, but since he's left us people are going on as if he was a young Ashley Cole.

Aqualani the same, talented player but never suited to this league who's had an average start at Juve but again people go on as if it's Alonso or Snijder

Nobody has claimed he is Ashley Cole, nobody claimed Aquillani was another Alonso. But they are decent players who could have been more than useful to the squad this year, but we loaned them out. Basically we gave Insua away for free after accepting 2 bids of £5m+. they were 2 awful moves by us.

  2. Insua was poor last season, but no worse than Konchesky. But we gave Insua away for free basically. And we paid a couple of million for Konchesky and gave away a couple of promising youngsters too. Horrific piece of transfer business.

  3. He was shit at West Ham, shit at Fulham and will continue to be shit with us. Was it ever really in doubt.

No. Hes almost 30. Hes never been any better than average, hes not going to improve much now at this age.

  4. We sent Insua out on loan and actually spent money on Konchesky, great business. He is barely a improvement and for the financial loss incurred I'd say we'd have been better sticking

We also lost 2 promising youngsters to bring this donkey in.

  5. I didnt want Rafa sacked. i believed and still believe it was wrong because we would not be able to attract anyone better or be able to trust the people making the decision to get it right. i warned that things would get much worse if rafa went and was laughed at. Still rteally baffles me how so many people thought Roy Hodgson would be a better manager than rafa Benitez when their CVs were miles apart. We are reaping what we sow because we failed to back Rafa. We stopped them from replacing him with Klinnsman before but too many were too happy to see the change this time and it has bitten us in the ass.

i admit though that i didnt think we would be in a relegation battle.

  6. From Robert Peston's blog on BBC.

Royal Bank of Scotland tells me that if it's true that Mill has taken the Hicks/Gillett shares and if Mill repays the £200m long-term debt owed by Liverpool FC (plus penalty fees) to RBS and Wachovia, then Mill is in the driving seat.

Once the debt is repaid, RBS's power ends.

At that point, the deal with New England Sports Ventures collapses.

Liverpool would have a new owner, Mill. And Mill will do with Liverpool what it pleases.

But if the board has agreed a sale to NESV, how can any shareholder stop that? Surely it comes down to whether or not the board had the power to sell? Courts here have said the board did have the power to sell. Not sure how Mill taking on a share changes that??

  7. this thread is confusing

Roy wasnt given the job because of any daft little englander mentality, he got it because he was relatively cheap and was seen as someone who would steady the ship and not ruffle any feathers

Pelligrini was cheaper. But after being interviewed was told that we wanted an English manager. baffles me why we would want an English manager as theres very few good ones about.

  8. The reason the board was tilted in the way it was is because RBS ensured it would be. If Purslow had gone they would have found somebody else to represent their interests. Having said that, it might explain why Broughton sided with Purslow rather than Benitez.

Yeah RBS were always going to tilt the board against G&H, they had to so they could get the club sold and get their money back.

  9. Not all that sure of it myself, but the new owners would be paying off the debt against the clubs name, owed to RBS. The 2 cunts took out further loans elsewhere secured against themselves, not the club. That loan wont be paid by the new owners, they are really only paying off what the club owes RBS. The 2 cunts are still responsible for the other loan though (The £144m).

Could be way off there but i think its something along those lines. Other more knowledable posters will probably come along and clear it up properly

  10. I think he's a cunt. He's been running about telling people all sorts of lies and lied on record about the club's spending.

I also think he hasn't a clue how to run a football club.

Good at acting a cunt in business though. As him and Broughton's coup has shown.

Pretty much how i view him too.
