  1. My front door is solid but I don't want it playing sweeper for LFC. Then again it could probably do a better than most keepers.

Your front door doesn't catch four times as many crosses as Reina.

Begovic commands his area better than any goalkeeper in the PL, and unlike most of the others he catches the ball. He has safe hands as well, never dropping the ball (I saw a statistic up until April; Reina had tried to catch 16 crosses and he dropped the ball 6 times).

He's a decent shot stopper as well.

He has his faults, of course, but let's not pretend he's without qualities.

  2. On the basis of that video I'm in. He looks like a red card one in every five games type. I look forward to seeing him go through the back of Van Persie with both feet and his head.

He's a winner. He's like Carragher (much more pace though!) in the way that he puts himself about, and he also has a streak of madness.

Quality wise he could very well be another Vidic.

  3. This is a great opportunity to get at Gordon Taylor. The new twitter trend should be asking him to resign for the acts of racism shown yesterday.

I don't see it as racism, but going from the standard PFA have set there can be no excuses :)

  4. Aubameyang, Remy, Son Heung Min and Dzagoev. Take your pick.

From what I've seen I'd pick Son Heung Min. Haven't seen too much of Aubameyang though.

And I don't think Remy is what Liverpool need. He's decent, but he's on a high wage and has a questionable attitude.

  5. Trickett-Smith seems to be doing well in that more advanced position.

Cooper sticking with the 15 + 16 year olds then (plus a couple of 14 year olds)

The players are not as young as Steve Hunter says, so I don't think there are any 14 year olds in the team.

Hunter said that Corey Whelan and Harry Wilson are 14, whilst Sam Hart is 15. Whelan and Wilson are both born in 1997, whilst Sam Hart is born in 1996.

  6. I'd be amazed if we went near Ben Arfa due to his injury problems exciting player when fit but fitness seems a big problem.

He's had two seasons (10/11 and 12/13) ruined by injury problems. First due to a broken leg, and then due to serious hamstring injury. Two serious injuries, of course, but he got over the first one and it is not a recurring problem. How he'll be affected by the second one is hard to say, but I think he would be worth the risk in a swap for Carroll.

What's the alternative? I don't think there are many potential buyers for Carroll, unless the fee is well below £10 million or so.

  7. So anyway, Wanyama being linked in the paper talk. 10 million.

Lot of money and a gamble but could be a Dembele type player for us. Probably not as silky on the ball as Dembele but a really forceful presence.

At this stage I think we need to shore up that massive gap in the middle of the field almost as top priority.

I agreep. Players such as Wanyama and Capoue (who I rate as a much better player than Sissoko or M'Vila) are just what Liverpool need (and both of them can play in defence as well), alongside at quality defender.

There's been talk of signing 2-3 defenders (and 3-4 in total), but I'd prefer something like Wanyama, Capoue and Dede/Douglas/other (I admit I haven't seen too much of Dede or Douglas, so they are more an indication of the type of player (big, strong, athletic) I'd like than actual suggestions)...

Add a quality winger, and the side would look very strong again.

  8. Anybody seen these guys much ? ( I know Redtube mentioned De Vrij )

I haven't seen much of them, but I've seen them three or four times each (including youth games at international level). Take my views with a pinch of salt, as they are based on very few games over a couple of years (I think the first time I saw Martins Indi was in a U18 game vs. England).

Martins Indi has seemed like a more polished version of Chris Mavinga. I don't think he has the stature to play as a central defender in the PL, and I'm not sure he has the attacking qualities I would assume Rodgers is looking for in a full back (really good defender though).

De Vrij plays a bit like a right sided Daniel Agger. I know he plays mostly as a central defender now, but he started off as a right full back - where he seemed excellent (both on the ball and as a defender).

  9. What do you think of the other highly rated CB - I think he is based in Norway - apologies but is name is Okare

I also remember the striker for Hannover you mentioned - I think he has been injured for a while?

You are probably thinking of Jores Okore. He plays in Denmark.

Personally I don't know much about him (he was linked to Liverpool a while ago, and I watched a few videoes I found on the Internet, but that was it)....

  10. So an unknown 24 year old Norweigen is better than pretty much are whole midfield??!! Excellent valid point

Skjelbred was an excellent talent, and he was offered a place at the Liverpool academy when he was 16 or so. He got into the first team at Rosenborg quite early, and looked an excellent player (and by far the best talent in Norway for quite some time) until a terrible injury set him back. He'll never fulfill his initial promise, but he could have become a top class PL player...

  11. There is currently no deal in place (confirmed by the Molde CEO). There is however talk in the local newspaper regarding some sort of trial...

Personally I don't see the need; Forren is a good player, but I don't see how he'll ever become something more than a backup for Daniel Agger. I don't think he is better than Agger in any aspect of his game.

I do think there is a need for an alternative to Skrtel and Agger, but that should be a player with more pace and strength.

  12. Norsk 16-Ã¥ring aktuell for City, Arsenal og Liverpool - TV 2 Sporten

The 16 year old midfielder Vajebah Sakor played for Rosenborg in both the games vs. Liverpool in the Nextgen series. He's primarily a central midfielder, but he played the away game on the left.

He's currently on loan at Rosenborg (he's owned by Asker) who want to sign him, until 4th of december, but there is confirmed interest from Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool. He's rejected a trial at Sunderland, as well as trials with clubs in Belgium and Holland, and has previously had trials with AC Milan as well as FC Copenhagen.

  13.

The past is the past, so if Rodgers think he can turn Ince into a decent player then by all means - buy him.

Personally I'm not convinced he has the necessary quality, and I think Suso and Sterling are much better players (I also believe Ibe and Ojo soon will be). I'd much rather see players such as Zaha and Redmond brought in (they have qualities the current squad is a bit short of), although Zaha might be too much of a risk considering the inflated fee he'll probably go for.

  14. if we had picked on recent form alone, ngoo would have been ahead of morgan as well.

his physique makes his general play look a bit awkward but I like him.

Ngoo has been very very good for a long time now, and I think he deserves a chance. His touch let him down a couple of times today, but the Chelsea defenders had no idea on how to stop him.

He'll become a top class player.

  15. Theres been no great improvement how you come to that idea is odd, actually there has been improvement in that hes not been in our main starting 11 and hes not likely to be either.

His attitude is not 'right' at all for a Liverpool player , hes spineless , so yeah it was great to see Shelvey come on ahead of him.

    Henderson has improved a lot.

When he arrived he was quite weak, and almost never won the ball. Now he's much stronger, and he wins the ball quite often. His passing is much better as well.

He has lacked a bit of confidence, but that's something he's improving day by day.

He did well at the end of last season, and he's done well so far under Rodgers. Hopefully both he and Shelvey will continue to improve...

  16. Played well today and so close to scoring the winner , also great to see him come on ahead of Henderson , wasn't expecting that.

Henderson has shown great improvement, and he certainly has the right attitude, so I don't see why it was "great to see" him come on ahead of JH.

Shelvey did well today though, and hopefully he can stabilize his game at this level soon.

  17. really like Allen. Always looking for the ball, good decision maker. Think he is going work out very well.

I watched him play 19-20 times now, and he's excellent.

As for Jordan Henderson, I think he'll turn his Liverpool career around soon. He's shown steady improvement over the past year, and he's no longer a liability... Today he combined nicely with Allen.

  18. Been left out the French squad aswell.

Seems to have a right attitude problem.

Personally I think Etienne Capoue (who is included in the squad for the first time) is a much better player, and I really don't understand the hype surrounding M'Vila (he's quality, but I don't think he'll ever be top class).

  19. Pheeny : "If I'd wanted anyone banned I'd have just banned them."

Why the fuck would anyone bother with that fucking abortion of a site?

There are quite a few decent people there, and because of that I am a regular visitor. I'm "read only" though, as the mods are :wallbutt:

  20. Caulker has only one year left on his contract with Spurs, so he might be available.

I'm inclined to believe the rumour, but that is probably due to the fact that I put 2 + 2 together when Rodgers was appointed. 2+2 = Sigurdsson and Caulker.

I also think Rodgers might be after Lacina Traore (he was one of his top targets as a Swansea manager).
