  1. I've met a few people from the UK who didn't know they were from Liverpool.
  2. That is ridiculous, the manager is basically the bulwark against them overspending again. All they had to do was not breach loses of greater than £105m over 3 years (excluding stadium and numerous other costs) and not only did that happen, in the following accounting period they managed to lose another huge chunk of money, hiring more staff and shellacking a load in transfer fees in the process. The indignancy of their fanbase is bizarre, if Liverpool had been run that badly (ala Hicks and Gillett) then loads of us would have been putting the boot in, instead they're just moaning at the arbitrary nature of the rules their club signed up to.
  3. I don't know? Physical prep ala- Diet?, Sugar levels?, Oxygen saturations? Testostorone levels :0)? Psychological conditioning? Hire a gang of rabid orcs in rubbish attire in a temporary stand in the week leading up to the games to shout abuse at the players non-stop? Play the Stone Roses and nick knack paddywack really loudly? Fuck knows, maybe try and have a look at what teams who have broken bad runs at particular away grounds did? Gather testimonies of things that went right at the games where we did beat them? (pity they can't interview Ged)
  4. That excludes 3 cup games, of which we have lost 2 and drawn 1. Also while it's not bad if we say had that sort of record at White Hart Lane against Spurs who have been finishing in positions not that far off United's during the period of time people would exactly be beaming with joy? I think there is far too much of an acceptance along the lines of it's a tough place to go, we never do well there etc. without there being a more systematic approach from the club looking into our preparations for the games themselves. Klopp in my view seems to view United and Everton far more like any other league game (as can be seen from consistent rotation of the squad in advance of those fixtures), this seems to result in a degree of success at home but for whatever reason results in quite poor returns at Goodison and Old Trafford during a period where a lot of the time we have been demonstrably the better side.
  5. In the most recent 7 wins there we've had there, the opposition have had red cards in 4 of the games (granted this is often due to frustration boiling over with only 2 having more of a direct relation on the outcome of the match) .
  6. This was the original post, winning 17.86% of the time, absolutely ideal like.
  7. I took the starting point from when they got promoted back up in 75/76 (i.e. nearly over the last 50 years) I would be absolutely amazed if our record at Old Trafford is not the worst of all grounds over that period of time and in recent times as well (possibly only being eclipsed by Eastlands due to the sports washers). Do we win 50%+ of our games against United at Anfield?
  8. I can't wait for the club to prioritise correctly the games Konate plays in, the last time he started at Old Trafford we won 5-0. Diogo coming back would seriously help though too.
  9. We won there in 82' but your point is correct, perhaps this requires a bit of introspection? Is there something as club we can do about the approach to the games there? As we are at least going to get one per season for the foreseeable.
  10. This would be true if our record at Old Trafford wasn't so consistently dire. It basically doesn't matter how we perform (though we are often poor) the result almost always end up being the same (i.e. they win around 50+% of the time and we get a draw around 30% of the time, if we're exceptionally lucky and they are in a melt down state or get a red card then we might win). As stated in the other posts I don't know why people so quickly waft this off as 'oh sometimes you get no luck' or 'we just didn't finish today'. The club for a long time has had real difficulties getting positive results at the venue regardless of the respective strengths and abilities of the teams playing, number of chances etc., that should send off a bit of a klaxon. Instead I don't get the impression much is being done about it.
  11. Are you sure? We have had a team over the last while (say 6 odd years) that have been demonstrably been better than Manchester United and we've managed two victories over about 11 games at Old Trafford. One of which was behind closed doors, and the other was a major blow out at the fag end of a poor managers reign. I think the club need to really dig into this, I don't particularly get the impression much has been done on it, given how often it looks like the approach is looks like 'just think of it as another league game'.
  12. I agree regarding moving on this year with Klopp's staff, but the club need to have a real look into why at some grounds over time we perform so much more poorly than relative positions/strength of squads would suggest, as it will always be a major road block to us winning the league. From the Manchester City (more recent phenomena due to state backing), Manchester United, Everton and Chelsea away games in a standard season we pick up around 2 to 3 points. So from the start we are losing about 8 to 9% of the points we can accrue. It's not ideal. These teams are virtually ever presents in the league (though Everton do seem to be trying their best to get out of this), I find it a bit strange that this never really seems to come up, everyone just always wafts their hands at the notion of 'oh it's a rival' or 'always one of the toughest aways' regardless of how those respective teams are performing. Is the psychological approach to the fixtures correct? what is our preparation like? Is there something our staff. medical teams and analysists could be doing in advance? Everyone took the piss out of the Arteta attempt at approximating Anfield at training, but in their last two games they have got draws with us at home, which undoubtedly is mainly due to their recruitment spend sailing close to the PSR wind alongside the inevitable improvement of the squad that brings, but perhaps he is thinking more systemically about the way they approach grounds they've had poor results at previously.
  13. Also what did I fucking say.. tired of how inept we are at game prioritisation for Konate.
  14. We're their fucking Everton... Since United returned to the top flight games at Old Trafford all competitions: 10 Liverpool Victories 17.86% 18 Draws 32.14% 28 Manchester United Victories 50.00% That's not far off the roll of a dice and calling for a 6. It would be good if the club could have a bit of a dive into this pattern alongside our results at Goodison and Stafford bridge as we may as well not play those fixtures and start off with a 6 to 7 point deduction each season.
