  1. Don't know if anyone has seen this Hodgson met Torres before Liverpool’s Swiss training camp in Ibiza 10 days ago and Liverpool’s managing director Christian Purslow is continuing to speak with the Spanish striker. He said: “The feedback I’m getting is positive but I can’t put words into other people’s mouths. “Christian is the one who has spoken with Fernando and his agent. “I do find it slightly amusing that we are talking about the future of player who still has years left on his contract but I understand the situation. “I have only spoken to him once but I am hoping to end up speaking to him every day on the training pitch. Hopefully he will follow what Steven did and reaffirm his commitment to the club.” Read more: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Kaiserslautern-1-0-Liverpool-Roy-Hodgson-confident-Fernando-Torres-will-stay-and-Milan-Jovanovic-makes-debut-as-Kop-kids-slump-The-Sunday-Mirror-pre-season-match-report-article
  2. Arda Turan is deffo the man, quick, skillful and can stand up to the physical side of the English game. I reckon we could nab him for 14 million and he would add a whole new dimension to the team.
  3. Yeah in 2001, we went 2-0 up early on, Gary Mac scored a pen and Michael Owen, I remember being bladdered and losing my voice before half time. Van Nistelhorse scored for the mancs and we held on. It was a great day and I seem to remember westerveld making some great saves before being bombed out a few weeks later after the bolton game.
  4. I don't believe that Parry would veto anything in the best interests of the club, and i'm sick of excuses being made for these two clowns. It's clear that Parry is Gillette's stooge and a careerist, if we're relying on slick Rick to do his best for the club then we truly don't have any hope. parry looks out for number one and still, despite everything sits there every week as if none of this has anything to do with him.
  5. I take your point Paul but I think its all about making it known to the powers that be that we won't accept being taken for mugs any longer. We have made it too easy for them to erode all the great traditions of the club. David Moores has walked away with his millions and is happy to sit in the directors box and keep quiet. Parry has entrenched himself in Gillette's camp and is determined to cling onto his position whatever the cost. They sit on the board so should be held to account for the position we are in now. What effect will this have on Gillette and Hicks? Because of the position we are in, we need to make coming to the match a daunting experience for Hicks, Gillette, Moores and Parry because not one of them has the best interests of this club at heart. I know it may seem futile but I believe that we need to be as proactive as possible and if it keeps this issue in the spotlight then it can't be a bad thing.
  6. Moores and Parry should definitely be targeted, they are members of the board and we should be doing our level best to make each one of them as uncomfortable as possible. They sold us down the river and Parry is as guilty as anyone at playing fucked up political games. Each one of them needs to know that they are not welcome at our club and these two have been sitting pretty for too long.
  7. Are those two parasites going to be at the game tonight or have the fucked off home again?
  8. We've all got our gripes, In 2006/2007 I went to a total of 46 games, whenever i could i travelled home and away but the Champions league aways were beyond my budget. So when like most people i missed out in the ballot for Athens I resolved like thousands of others to go and try and get a ticket on the day. I was lucky I managed to get a genuine ticket for 800 euro's. In the buildup to the game I was unlucky enough to be introduced to a couple of cockney wide boys who were taking the piss out of people who had travelled without a ticket and me for being a "fucking mug" for paying 800 euros. I asked these lads how many games they'd been to that season, their answer was 9 and one In-ger-land game in Israel. Because they had been to all the champions leage home games and had a jolly to Barcelona on their fan cards , they were guaranteed a final ticket. Now i'm a season ticket holder of 15 years and i'd been to 30 odd games more than them that season yet their jolly to Barcelona meant that they were more worthy of a ticket!! Their response was "its only fair innit" seems we all have a different perception of fairness.

  10. I'm an exiled scouser living in Cumbria just received this from our local MP, was made up. Dear Chris Thank you very much for your recent email with regard to the credit facility for the American owners of Liverpool Football Club. Although I retain my childhood loyalty to Blackburn, I do appreciate that there are many avid supporters of Liverpool in this area. I share your dislike of the speculative acquisition of our major clubs by foreign investors and I am pleased to confirm that I have signed EDM 2308 to give public support to this motion. With best wishes Yours sincerely TIM FARRON MP a. Just received this response from our local MP
  11. I remember Evans being linked with Godwin Okpara, Nigerian who played for Strasbourg....fuck our scouting network was poor back then.
  12. I'm currently working in a childrens home and there is a young 7 year old lad who came to us about 6 months ago. He has been a victim of domestic violence and has witnessed his Mum being stabbed and beaten. During this time the one thing that has got him through is his love of our great club, he lives and breathes football and it would be an absolute dream if we could arrange for him to be mascot for a game. He's a local lad, a proper little scouser full of cheek and humour, if anybody deserves a chance like this its him and its something we hope to arrange for his upcoming birthday. If anyone can give us details on how to go about becoming a mascot it would be greatly appreciated....do we contact the club? Carlsberg? Do we stand any chance? Is there a fee? anyway any info would be a big help. Thanks everyone
  13. Maybe our transfer budget isn't as paltry as some are suggesting....why would Rafa spend 7 million on a full back and target Barry for 15 million when the creative positions are obviously in need of a major facelift? Rafa isn't stupid, he knows the areas we need to improve and i've no doubt he will do it. I wouldn't read too much into the Milner, Downing links. I'm sure his top targets are two of the following, Villa, Silva, Van Der Vaart, Bentley..or should i say i hope they are? I'm fairly sure that we will see some satisfying transfer activity this summer, it's just painful that we tie ourselves in knots over pure speculation.
  14. There is fuck all in that article that we didn't know already, we're analysing every little word looking for the tiniest clues which aren't even there! This is fucking torture, we won't know anything for real until Spain are out of the European championships,so we're going to have weeks more of this.
