  1. I think so far we've handled this okay. I've seen a few comments from people along the lines of 'If we don't appeal this, we're letting Suarez down and he'd have every right to leave because of it'. That's just delusional nonsense. He's the nutjob who bit someone! I'm all for supporting him for the benefit of Liverpool Football Club but he isn't a picture of innocence some are making out. I'm arsed because 10 games without our best player will hurt us, not because it might upset him to be sitting on the sidelines. If he leaves because we're not good enough then fair play. Beat the club with that stick. But he won't leave because of lack of support over shit he's dragged us into.
  2. I appreciate you pointing out forum etiquette and your reasons that this should have gone in the match thread. I didn't stick my post in there because it would have been missed amongst many knee jerk, few line posts, not long after the game. Your comment about me learning this forum being all about me is laughable. i'm just trying to provoke some discussion about things that haven't been highlighted. To be honest, they may well have been but I'm not seeing much coverage of them in or out of the match thread. As for negs and reps, you seem to think they would have some kind worthwhile and continuing affect on my life. I couldn't give a shiney shite.:D
  3. Fair point and maybe you're right. I just feel that when the ball is around, he's lacking something (it's either match fitness or intelligence). That's over the past 2 games of course, too short a time to judge.
  4. 1) Southampton played football. Our philosophy this season has been all about getting the ball down, playing short passes and playing the game in a certain way. Southampton didn't play the long ball, bullying tactics, that have out done is in the past for which we've used excuses. They beat us at our our game. 2) European Football. In recent years we may have travelled back from European locations or at best, played midweek matches at home on a Wednesday or Thursday. After watching a poor away performance we could at least say 'ahhh.. We looked leggy or had little time to prepare'. We had all week to prepare for this match. 3) First XI. Looking at that team when we lined up, 3 selections (forced or unforced) stood out and concerned me. Brad Jones, Martin Skrtel and Joe Allen. Brad Jones didn't have a bad game but I'll discuss him in below in point 4. Skrtel had a nightmare and it unfortunately it wasn't a suprise. I think his days are numbered at the club and I won't be sad to see him go. He just doesn't have the ability to be good enough. Allen also had a nightmare, whether that was letting players past too easily or giving away possession too easily (when he wasn't even under pressure). I don't know whether this shoulder injury is taking it's toll but he shouldn't be in the side ahead of Henderson, and deffo not ahead of Lucas! 4) When Brad Jones plays we clearly don't have the confidence to build from the back. I'm talking clear instructions from the manager not to play in a way that we've been so used to all season. Goal kicks and deep free kicks go long and we don't play pass backs as often 5) Daniel Sturridge plays like he just got out of bed. The lad got off to a flying start and he clearly has the ability to make a difference in games. But I hope we don't see too many performances like he's had in the past 2 games. He seems to be lacking in match fitness and I hope that's all it is. But I fear he's lacking in match intelligence. Few discussion points there. Thoughts?
  5. If it stays like this, I'd take Sturridge off for Henderson at half time. I'd rather have the extra man in midfield. Of course, I'd rather he went and scored in the mean time.
  6. I've been sticking up for Rodgers all season but that double substitution in the 60th minute when the game is in our momentum was shocking. Cost us the game and stunk of amateur behaviour.
  7. I don't think he 'likes' much about this football club. I don't know why he bothers. We all see we're not in a good place right now. But there are good things we can build upon. i'm not a blind faith believer in Rodgers but I he knows more about footy than Code. i'd rather support a current Liverpool manager and hope it comes off than listen to the self serving, sadistic, attention seeking posts of this prick.
  8. Of course you don't see it. Because you don't get footy.
  9. I'm overseas and return home just before Christmas. I'm not in Liverpool for my first weekend, but have a trip to London planned instead. Today I bought tickets for Spurs Vs Swansea for me and the missus. I'm that desperate to go to a footy match. Not an opinion, but it's still amnesty worthy.
  10. Good to get the 3 points. Now we need to make that a routine at home. Disappointed with our second half performance though. That's a few times at Anfield this season that we've dropped our level after the break. Not too worried, but we need to keep the intensity and control over a longer period of time.
  11. We have shit supporters. Hurts me to say that, so I want to be wrong. I've been away from home for 18 months so I don't know what the vibe is like amongst the match going fans. Surely it's not a reflection of this? Speaking to my mates back home, things seem mostly positive. What's going on?
