24 hours later, I feel much better. Was really devastated yesterday but I think we win all our remaining games now and I don't see the other 2 doing that. We've got our dropped points out of the way, City and Arsenal still have theirs to come.

Think even one of the Bayern senior follks came out today and said would be improbable getting Xabi this summer. Seems like he's decided to stay at Leverkusen for atleast one more season and taking his chances on the jobs he wants being available again (Madrid most likely will as Ancelloti only signed a two year deal). Its probably the most logical thing from his career development perspective, one more season in a top league with added Champions league football, as disappointing as it is.

That article details the relationship between Edwards, Hughs and Howe which is very interesting considering the amount of business we did with them. Do agree with the continuity point made above as well, good to get someone in that knows the club intimately well with all the other change going on.

Hope this doesn't turn out to be a case of a guy coming back and trying to prove all the positive press around him (which I think he's been very smart at cultivating with his media contacts) and trying to be "too clever" e.g. selling Van Dijk and Salah because of 'age' and trying to run everything by numbers. I think where it worked with him and Klopp early on is they were both strong enough to say no to each other. Sense was that Edwards (and then Ward) left because Klopps word was becoming increasingly more final and influence of the DoF was reducing. The worry would be that Edwards is trying to come back with even more of a say and that dynamic goes too far to the side of the DoF.

Let’s hope his form improves. I would feel much more comfortable defensively with Gomez there rather than Robertson. He just hasn’t looked right for a while, understandable since the injury but even pre-injury it wasn’t classic Robbo.

Really surprised at how many minutes he's getting back to back right now (I'm sure not always by choice with the injuries we have!) but to keep playing at the level he has with not much rest is great.

One thing that always amazes me is our wages, understand we have an incentive based structure but we must have a lot of players on a minimum of a 100k pw base if we are breaking 300 million in wages every season, even in seasons we haven't won anything. We have a higher wage bill than United and Chelsea and significantly higher than Arsenal, and have done for a few years now I think.

The amount of minutes Elliott has played recently is incredible, I think he played the full 120 in the cup final too. Hopefully job is done in first half and we can remove most of the Sunday starters for the second half.

Apparently he has scored 12 out of 12 pens before tonight, that said I had no confidence when he stepped up (not because I have no faith in him, I just knew luck would be against him).

They started filming before Christmas after Klopp gave the green light.

Same...especially if Klopp ends up at a club in summer 2025 that would interest Trent. Would be horrible to see them both at Madrid in summer 2025.
