Pisses me off how few people are prepared to take five minutes out of their day these days to help a brother out. My mate was made redundant a while ago and I've been making a few enquirers with mates to try and get him a foot on some kind of ladder. One fella I've known for years is a senior manager at a local college, I helped him out when he tried to get his business off the ground a while back, I went out of my way to get him some free publicity - simply because I was in a position to help him and I like seeing people do well. So I asked him if he could try and sort my mate out - who's got a background in teaching basic IT - and he goes "there's big call for that actually, the Government are putting money back into it again, tell him to contact HR." Er yeah, cheers mate. It's something I find quite often though to be honest, people who are otherwise sound, who are so wrapped up in their own shit that they won't even give you the steam off their piss.
