7. After watching the full series 4 of Dexter over the last few days I have to say that the intro is superb. The normal daily morning routine made to look sinister. Almost showing that even the most normal of things can have a dark side. Any other suggestions?
8. Nintendo Wii console in black - Woolworths Use code ZG003 for £30 off and then XX607 for free delivery. 8% Quidco cashback too. Bought two seperately on two newly created accounts (one for delivered at home and one at work). Two pressies sorted.
9. I know it is cut and paste but maybe the likes of Rooney could take note? ________________________________ Growing pains for 'The Kid' El Niño — The Kid — and it is not hard to see why. With his boyish visage and gangly frame, he resembles a teenager after a growth spurt, a man-child getting acquainted with his new body. To fans of Atlético Madrid, he has always been The Kid, dating back to the August day 11 years ago when, as a ten-year-old, he was one of only three boys to join the club out of 6,000 who showed up for trials. Today, Torres is probably the best player in Europe never to have played in the European Cup. He is to Atlético fans what Wayne Rooney might have been to the Everton faithful: one part prodigy, one part folk hero, one part native son, one part messiah. It is difficult to overstate what he means to Atlético. He is not only their captain, not only by far their best player, not only their greatest home-grown product; he is the eternal hope of youth, which is why, if he remains at the club, he will forever be The Kid. “Atlético are the poor team of Madrid, the working-class team,” Torres said. “We don’t have money, we rarely win trophies. We exist for other reasons. We give our fans an outlet each weekend to forget about the drudgery of existence and immerse themselves in the club. Of course, that means suffering with the club because we are not rich or powerful, which in some ways is unusual because fans leave their daily suffering to join Atlético’s suffering. And yet we go, driven perhaps by hope that one day our fortunes will turn. It’s the hope, however irrational. Atlético fans were looking for an idol and when I came along, they adopted me.” Stop. Reread the above quote. Do those sound like the words of a footballer who turned 21 only eight days ago? Can you imagine Rooney talking in such a way? This is a young man blessed not only with outrageous footballing skills, this is a thinking footballer who in another time might have been called an existentialist. Reflecting on Real Madrid, the club he turned down at 10 for Atlético, Torres said: “Real are rich and powerful and used to winning, so that’s what the fans expect. But that means they are slaves to their success. When they don’t win, they can’t find happiness.” Torres has thought about these things because, unlike most professionals, he is a fan. If he were not on the pitch, he would be in the stands. “I made the jump from the stands to the pitch literally in one week,” he said. “One game I was amidst the supporters, the next I was a few yards away, on the pitch. I lived the dream.” Yet the dream was not always pleasant. There is an adage that suggests that “you should never wed your mistress”, in case the magic shatters against reality. “When you’re a fan, you think and dream about your club every day,” he said. “You only see the good parts. When you cross the line and become a player, you see everything. That’s not always pretty. But what I found most difficult was dealing with failure as a player as opposed to a fan. As a supporter, you know that if you cheer your heart out, you’ve done your job. But as a player, you have an extra layer of frustration as, unlike the fans, you can determine the outcome. And that’s why defeat hurts much more if you’re a player and a fan rather than only a fan.” Torres had scored 55 league goals before his 21st birthday, but that is a minor part of his game. What really gets scouts excited is his rare combination of size (he is 6ft), strength, pace and technique, all controlled by a creative mind. That is why AC Milan reportedly bid £25 million for him last summer and why, according to the Spanish press, José Mourinho is a huge fan. Atlético have rebuffed the suitors thus far, but there is a sense of the inevitable. The club’s financial position remains precarious and, in their hearts, most Atlético fans accept that he will not be around for ever. Torres knows this, too. “People always ask me about leaving,” he said. “Atlético are a big club, but we don’t win much. Elsewhere, I could be competing for important titles. But I have things here which I couldn’t have with other teams: my family and friends, my sense of belonging. Do I give that up to chase glory? All the trophies in the world couldn’t replace what I have here. Then again, I ask myself if I’m just staying in my comfort zone at Atlético. Would I push myself harder elsewhere? I tell myself there’s plenty of time to move if that’s what I want, but the truth is, I just don’t know. If you ask me the same question in a week, I’ll probably give a different answer.” Did Rooney wrestle with the same issues six months ago? If he did, we may never know. Because Torres is a fan, he is in danger of confusing what Atlético mean to him with who he is. “This is my job, not a hobby,” he said. “Rationally, I know I have to differentiate between the two, but it’s very difficult.” Maybe one day the professional will win out over the fan and he will do what is best for his career, although maybe not for his heart and soul. When this happens, he will move on, win trophies, become very wealthy and attain superstardom. Perhaps he will win the Ballon d’Or and be hailed as one of the greatest. But if this happens he will no longer be The Kid. He will simply be Fernando Torres, the footballer. Torres tale Born March 20, 1984, Madrid Joined Atlético Madrid in 1995, a club to which he is contracted until 2008, with a buy-out clause of €90 million (£62 million) Height 6ft (1.84m) Weight 11st (70kg) 2001 Debut for Atlético Madrid, winner with Spain at Under-16 European Championship 2002 Under-19 European Championship winner 2003 Scored 13 goals in 29 matches in his first season. 10. I love it. Had it tonight but my wife thinks it is horrendous and knows of noone else in the world who eats it. Is it a Liverpool thing? We always had it as kids. Its great. Yes or No?
11. Just went out for lunch and on my travels I saw a little lad thumping his mum on the back, repeatidly. He was about 9 years old. She then moved away from him and said "Leave me alone I don't want to be near you". He replied "come here mum". You couldn't make this up... As she moved away he went for her again and started punching at her chest. He was a right butch little Geordie who looked fucking evil for a child. I think we should have child prisons, I seriously do.
12. How should the board manage expectations? Hastily sacking the manager as Real Madrid have done is not the Liverpool Way and cannot be condoned, especially one that has delivered 2 Champions Leagues and 2 La Liga Titles. Their board has said today: “We decided to change while we were in a good position rather than wait for it to turn bad” They now want Carlos Quieroz – what a guy with such a good profile is doing as understudy to the drunken Gin Soak only he knows! In the past two years a minority Liverpool fans have called for GH to go and this has turned into something like 20% in the last 6 months, this will increase if things stay the same for another six months. We do not need to ask the question, we know that Houllier with his Liverpool trophy haul would have been sacked by now at clubs such as Real Madrid, AC Milan and Barcelona etc…. he would not have survived last season at those clubs. We know the he has not won a BIG trophy yet. But would sacking him have been worth it? Will Real Madrid be any more successful without Del Bosque? I very much doubt it. Will Liverpool get the Championship any sooner under a new manager? The two most successful managers in English football at the moment include one that has been there about 16 odd years and another who has stayed at Arsenal for 6 years. Is the merry go round worth it? Do continental managers have far more pressure than those at home? In my opinion Liverpool Football Club have it spot on in supporting the manager through thick and thin. We are a very successful club who crave the league championship and Champions League and until we are challenging for that every year we won’t be happy… that is a given. However events at Real Madrid have confirmed to me why we are a special club… a club that will stand by the manger – whether we stand by him for as long as it takes or give him another year to get it right remains to be seen. It’s no secret that I am a big critic of Houllier and he would probably have been gone by now if I was CEO, but thank God we have people at the club who are not as hasty. I am torn between wanting us to be challenging big time and showing loyalty to our manager who has had us challenging for the league in only one of his 4 seasons here. Remember, we are Liverpool Football Club; there is a thin line between loyalty and doing what is best for the club. I think the club is playing it perfect at the minute. So what are our expectations? And how should we manage them?
13. Without a doubt it is. Oh the memories... YouTube - 112 feat. Biggie, Mase, & Puffy-Only you
14. Which would you choose say if we had won both in 2005? Which for you is the holy grail?
15. No I don't mean Dave (YKI/Dirk) type but a real beating up in a dark room type of psychology. I have just had a few scans, and procedures and right till the end despite being told otherwise by some of the best private doctors in the country I have been thinking the worst. Now they say I am totally fine, in fact I am better than I was before! But for the past two weeks I have literally been unable to eat or sleep! I think the best way to get over anxiety, is to have a good kicking, anyone happy to oblige? How does everyone handle this type of thing? The "what if"?
16. "There is a feeling against Chelsea which has partly been caused by Drogba's admission of cheating. This isn't fair on the honest pro's like Joe Coe, John Terry..." :D :D :D :D :D I stopped listening at this point because my laughing rendered the commentary on the television inaudible.
17. Football rumours------ am a friend of a lawyer who has told me that the Owner of Carlson Companies, is the potential investor in Liverpool Football Club. The rumoured amount is set to be 175 million pound buy out, with the following money going in.... 30 million for each year for the next 3 years for players. 150 million for the stadium (providing branding etc, and also allowing Carlson companies to deal in teh business ventures with LFC brand). A further 50 million to be spread out over the next three years depending on sucess. Now this is not certain, as there are other players around the negiotiation table, but this has been tabled. AND ANOTHER. Kenny Dalglish is going to head a consortium that will take over Liverpool in May along with 2 other people that are something to do with a tele communication company. (this is true not a rumor, the Liverpool Echo know all about this but are keeping it under wraps at the request of LFC and Kenny Dalglish. Talk Sport radio show got wind of this and started dropping hints on there shows but has have yet not said Kenny's name.) The above one sounds plausable. Hopefully we will find out soon.
18. Parry has now tried to put a lid on the whole affair, telling BBC Radio Five Live's Sportsweek: "We are in dialogue with Spurs and it is an episode we want to put behind us and move on. I am sure we will do that. "They are making the point they are not interested in our player and we not interested in their player, so I think we'll resolve that one."
19. Following on from SWP's cheating this week, Arsene Wenger has deplored divers and said we must punish them. He also said he hates it and his teams do not dive. :D

21. The Echo has us in for him, never seen him play apart from against England. Any good? Will cost £6M. Juventus also interested.
22. ...................that Cisse doesn't. Both have pace and can score goals. Both have poor technique and offer very little in general play apart from scoring. But why should we sell a man who waited two years for his chance here and suffered a career threatening injury, then is played out of position when he's fit- to bring back a man who couldn't get out of here quick enough. Plus we will probably lose money on both of them. Makes no sense to me. :wallbutt:
23. High praise indeed So we have Vieira and Schmeichel now! Here is the full interview: RAFA: REINA'S LIKE SCHMEICH! Aug 21 2005 By Ken Lawrence RAFA BENITEZ believes £7million goalkeeper Jose Reina will become the new Peter Schmeichel of English football. And the Liverpool boss admits he bought him from Villareal exactly because he shows the same tough, all-action style as the keeper who made himself the Great Dane of Manchester United in the 90s. Old Trafford boss Sir Alex Ferguson has never been able to replace Schmeichel's giant presence - Edwin van der Sar is the latest of a long line of those who have tried to fill the void. Yet Benitez is convinced that Reina is fast becoming a carbon copy of the man who made himself the Premiership's most successful ever keeper. He said: "Jose is very much like Schmeichel in the way he plays and I think that the more games he gets behind him the stronger the resemblance in style will be. I always like my goalkeepers to dominate not only the six-yard box but the whole penalty area - that is what Reina does and one reason Schmeichel was so successful. "Schmeichel was never afraid to go and get the ball. He always wanted to be in charge of going for crosses - and Jose is in the same mould."
24. 7-up. If anybody knows how to superimpose a can or bottle of 7-up on an Arsenal shirt and post it on here please do. I want to give some stick to those bastards tomorrow.
