Just wondering how many of us have been involved in any of the various guises? I was 14th Walton-on-the-Hill Beavers, Cubs and Scouts and really enjoyed it. It surely helps the development of children to interact with others learning social skills. It also tried to impress a sense of morality into the fabric of everything that we did. I'm sure that's changed from Christian values to a more multi-faith friendly system by now but it'll still be there. I can still do a reef knot and just last night I sliced a gash in a banana filled it with chocolate baked it then ate it with a spoon from the foil just like in Tawd Vale. I have very fond memories of scouting and think I'd certainly try and push my kids to try it out.
