1. Glen Johnson injury update - Liverpool FC A high ankle sprain - doesn't sound too bad right? The club haven't put a timescale on his return until further investigation - but my extensive research*thanks wikipedia, indicates he could be out for a few days or get this - up to 6 months!!! Shame we didn't buy any right backs to go with our half a dozen centre backs.
2. Well well if he becomes good I'm afraid we'll be shooting ourselves for letting him go. But at least we get some money from the transfer fee right?
3. I could have put this in the transfer thread, but i didn't want to because it will be lost in the plethora of rabble, and i rarely start new threads. Anyway, i've been reading a few articles on-line tonight and it seems Rennes have announced an agreement is in place to let Yann M'Vila go in the summer. Now im not about to proclaim to be an expert in French football, as i don't have any real interest in it - but i look out for Lille's results these days just to see how Joe Cole and Eden Hazard are doing. As such i read the odd bit about the other teams and players - and this guy really seems like the real deal. If he's available - we should be interested. Our Director of Football should be an expert in his own countries sport - and its no secret we lack a bit of bite in the middle of the park, so here's his chance to right some of the mistakes we've made in the last couple of transfer windows. Personally i don't think Lucas is a defensive midfielder, but i think he will thrive alongside one - and this guy could be one of the very best in a few years time. Why not get in there now, instead of staying safe and buying domestic based players, and watching our rivals get stronger. Im sure a few of you are way more aware of French Football than me, so i'd like to hear your opinions on him. Obviously Arsenal rumours are rife but what a boring fucking cliché if yet another French prodigy went there.
4. Surely one of the clearer lessons of the ‘too much too quick’ culture in football. Michael Johnson released as Manchester City finally lose patience | Football | guardian.co.uk Michael Johnson, once tipped as an England international and one of the best young players to emerge through Manchester City's academy in the past decade, has been paid off from his contract after the club finally ran out of patience with him. Johnson, convicted of two drink-driving offences last September, was offered a severance package from his £40,000-a-week contract just before Christmas, after several years of decline. The club decided not to announced it publicly but it has come to light now after a photograph of the 24-year-old appeared on the internet looking bloated and unfit. Once the subject of a £10m bid from Liverpool, the former England youth international has suffered a series of injury problems but he also caused considerable disquiet behind the scenes because of his attitude towards being a professional footballer and, specifically, his fondness for a night out. His last appearance for the club was as a second-half substitute in a Carling Cup tie against Scunthorpe in October 2009. Sven-Goran Eriksson once said he would not swap Johnson even for Steven Gerrard but the days when he was described as "the new Colin Bell", breaking into City's first team at the age of 18, were short-lived. Roberto Mancini and his predecessor, Mark Hughes, both concluded that Johnson did not have the personality to play football at the highest level. At one point City were so embarrassed by his unkempt state in his pen-pic club sources say the photographer was asked to come back to take it again. Johnson was moved to Leicester City two years ago, on a season-long loan that cost the Championship club £1m, but was signed off, then sent back, at the midway point. After that, almost nothing had been heard of him until he crashed his car, over the drink-drive limit, in Manchester last May. It was one of two occasions when he has been arrested for drink-driving in the space of three months, leading to a £5,500 fine and three-year driving ban
5. Just seen this elsewhere: Zinedine Zidanes son Enzo Fernández Zidane will have a 2 month trial at Melwood from the start of February to April 2013. The 17 year old midfielder started at Real Madrids academy at the age of 9. Enzo got his debut for the Real Madrid B team in 2010, 49 matches with 38 assists and 8 goals so far. Source: Real Madrid Castilla official (the B team) and Marca. - JM Fucking boss.
6. Is it a 35% sell on clause or is it 50%. Scored 13 in 18 in the Championship, could be a nice little earner for us if a PL side comes in for him or we could even sign him in a cut price deal. Would you have him back?
