  1. The guy is pure class. http://www1.skysports.com/football/live/match/287580/video
  2. Am I the only one watching it? Been quite eventful. Hendry, Doherty and Selby been knocked out in the first round. Also, the whole match fixing scandal with Jamie Burnett, which I put down to him being shit, more than being a cheat. Although it was a really really dodgy miss. And today, Ding just knocked in a class 147 against Higgins. Quality game with Higgins being 4-1 ahead currently.
  3. Evening all, Over the last couple of months ive started learning more and more about 3d modeling and after the New Year i will be hopefully setting up once and for all in Graphic Design so this is like adding another 'string to the bow' as the saying goes. I know there is a few design people on here so would like your view on what you think of this test kitchen scene i created. As you can tell everything is computer generated and took about 10 hours just to render the fucker but any advice on lighting and realism etc would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Rafa you seriously need to spend a game up in the stands with some of us and see what we are seeing, as you clearly are not! Why not come to the next home game and sit between me and ATK (if Alan would agree to it) and we could sort out plan B for you....and maybe even plan C because its blatantly obvious that you dont have one! Someone needs a word with you urgently. Looks like you consult no-one about substitutes or timing of substitutes. Last week I posted this thread, Rafa, You are boring us to death! - The Liverpool Way And I still mean it. Your obstinance (and/or EGO) is mind blowing and is destroying our chances of winning number 19. PS This is not a knee jerk reaction, its been boiling in me for weeks.
  5. http://www.newstatesman.com/200712190004 Not from The Mail  Global warming stopped? Surely not. What heresy is this? Haven’t we been told that the science of global warming is settled beyond doubt and that all that’s left to the so-called sceptics is the odd errant glacier that refuses to melt? Aren’t we told that if we don’t act now rising temperatures will render most of the surface of the Earth uninhabitable within our lifetimes? But as we digest these apocalyptic comments, read the recent IPCC’s Synthesis report that says climate change could become irreversible. Witness the drama at Bali as news emerges that something is not quite right in the global warming camp. With only few days remaining in 2007, the indications are the global temperature for this year is the same as that for 2006 – there has been no warming over the 12 months. But is this just a blip in the ever upward trend you may ask? No. The fact is that the global temperature of 2007 is statistically the same as 2006 as well as every year since 2001. Global warming has, temporarily or permanently, ceased. Temperatures across the world are not increasing as they should according to the fundamental theory behind global warming – the greenhouse effect. Something else is happening and it is vital that we find out what or else we may spend hundreds of billions of pounds needlessly. In principle the greenhouse effect is simple. Gases like carbon dioxide present in the atmosphere absorb outgoing infrared radiation from the earth’s surface causing some heat to be retained. Consequently an increase in the atmospheric concentration of greenhouse gases from human activities such as burning fossil fuels leads to an enhanced greenhouse effect. Thus the world warms, the climate changes and we are in trouble. The evidence for this hypothesis is the well established physics of the greenhouse effect itself and the correlation of increasing global carbon dioxide concentration with rising global temperature. Carbon dioxide is clearly increasing in the Earth’s atmosphere. It’s a straight line upward. It is currently about 390 parts per million. Pre-industrial levels were about 285 ppm. Since 1960 when accurate annual measurements became more reliable it has increased steadily from about 315 ppm. If the greenhouse effect is working as we think then the Earth’s temperature will rise as the carbon dioxide levels increase. But here it starts getting messy and, perhaps, a little inconvenient for some. Looking at the global temperatures as used by the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the UK’s Met Office and the IPCC (and indeed Al Gore) it’s apparent that there has been a sharp rise since about 1980. The period 1980-98 was one of rapid warming – a temperature increase of about 0.5 degrees C (CO2 rose from 340ppm to 370ppm). But since then the global temperature has been flat (whilst the CO2 has relentlessly risen from 370ppm to 380ppm). This means that the global temperature today is about 0.3 deg less than it would have been had the rapid increase continued. For the past decade the world has not warmed. Global warming has stopped. It’s not a viewpoint or a sceptic’s inaccuracy. It’s an observational fact. Clearly the world of the past 30 years is warmer than the previous decades and there is abundant evidence (in the northern hemisphere at least) that the world is responding to those elevated temperatures. But the evidence shows that global warming as such has ceased. The explanation for the standstill has been attributed to aerosols in the atmosphere produced as a by-product of greenhouse gas emission and volcanic activity. They would have the effect of reflecting some of the incidental sunlight into space thereby reducing the greenhouse effect. Such an explanation was proposed to account for the global cooling observed between 1940 and 1978. But things cannot be that simple. The fact that the global temperature has remained unchanged for a decade requires that the quantity of reflecting aerosols dumped put in our atmosphere must be increasing year on year at precisely the exact rate needed to offset the accumulating carbon dioxide that wants to drive the temperature higher. This precise balance seems highly unlikely. Other explanations have been proposed such as the ocean cooling effect of the Interdecadal Pacific Oscillation or the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation. But they are also difficult to adjust so that they exactly compensate for the increasing upward temperature drag of rising CO2. So we are led to the conclusion that either the hypothesis of carbon dioxide induced global warming holds but its effects are being modified in what seems to be an improbable though not impossible way, or, and this really is heresy according to some, the working hypothesis does not stand the test of data. It was a pity that the delegates at Bali didn’t discuss this or that the recent IPCC Synthesis report did not look in more detail at this recent warming standstill. Had it not occurred, or if the flatlining of temperature had occurred just five years earlier we would have no talk of global warming and perhaps, as happened in the 1970’s, we would fear a new Ice Age! Scientists and politicians talk of future projected temperature increases. But if the world has stopped warming what use these projections then? Some media commentators say that the science of global warming is now beyond doubt and those who advocate alternative approaches or indeed modifications to the carbon dioxide greenhouse warming effect had lost the scientific argument. Not so. Certainly the working hypothesis of CO2 induced global warming is a good one that stands on good physical principles but let us not pretend our understanding extends too far or that the working hypothesis is a sufficient explanation for what is going on. I have heard it said, by scientists, journalists and politicians, that the time for argument is over and that further scientific debate only causes delay in action. But the wish to know exactly what is going on is independent of politics and scientists must never bend their desire for knowledge to any political cause, however noble. The science is fascinating, the ramifications profound, but we are fools if we think we have a sufficient understanding of such a complicated system as the Earth’s atmosphere’s interaction with sunlight to decide. We know far less than many think we do or would like you to think we do. We must explain why global warming has stopped. David Whitehosue was BBC Science Correspondent 1988–1998, Science Editor BBC News Online 1998–2006 and the 2004 European Internet Journalist of the Year. He has a doctorate in astrophysics and is the author of The Sun: A Biography (John Wiley, 2005).] His website is http://www.davidwhitehouse.com
  6. I know it is probably asking too much for this thread not to turn into how good or how bad a manager Rafa is but that is what I would like I just want to ask two simple questions 1 Can Rafa realistically stay in charge under the existing regime after what has gone on recently and this season 2 If the answer to 1 is Yes how is he going to get it back again.

    My problem is

I tend to post when i am ratarsed. I am sure a lot of you do too. If not pissed then frustratred after the result. Now while i can forgive this, and i am sure most f you will. I can't forgive the uneducated and blatent slagging of players and the manager. We are playing badly. The manager is not getting the best from the players. But even at the lowest depths that the team perform, support them! This forum is the worst i subscribe to. If Dave or one of the moderators could cancel my account i would appreciate it. Thankyou.
  9. Not a day goes by without reports of a rape or two that occurs in this country. Many of them are repeat offenders. If we're not careful we will end up with a rape epidemic the likes of which only affect countries like South Africa. This is why I propose a humane way to permanently stop rapists from striking again. It is well known that rapists aren't normal men. They do not rape just because they want sex but because they enjoy brutalising and controlling women (and men). This means that almost every rapist that has struck once will almost certainly do so again if he is free to roam. This is why I propose chemically castrating first time offenders, so that they may never rape again. I'm certainly not averse to the usual method of surgical castration, i.e. removing the testicles, but I doubt the EU would ever permit this, given their "human rights" laws, or "criminal rights", to be more precise. The US has used this procedure to "treat" offenders. Why don't we do the same? It will stop repeat offences immediately and we can reduce jail time too. I think I deserve a rep or two for this great suggestion.
  10. Hey everyone, what's up? My name is Peter and I'm new to the forum. I just wanted to say hey.. I hope I posted this in the right section.. if not, mods please feel free to move it.
  11. He was complaining to Andy Townsend yesterday that the TV go over the top about it, stopping their conversation while the cameras concentrate on the fans singing before kick off. AT: Well, it's a great song Mike. Known all over the world as a great football song. MP: Yes, but they don't stop talking and show the fans at other clubs stadiums. I'd like them to do that when Z-cars is played at Goodison. AT: But it's not the same is it Mike? the fans don't sing to it. There's no words to Z-cars. Have Everton got a traditional song? MP: Well, yes of course. The problem is there's only one word to it. AT: One word? what do you mean Mike? MP: Everton, Everton, Everton......Everton, Everton, Everton......Everton, Everton, Everton......Everton...Ever...ton.
  12. Y'know the one about a pound coin. When it starts off the voiceover says "The humble Pound coin, the Bob....", the Bob, the fucking BOB? A shilling is/was a Bob you ignorant cunts, has anyone in the history of the world (besides the Macs ad obviously) EVER called a Pound coin a Bob? There that's my rant over.
  13. Peter Gulacsi certainly have learnt something watching Reina. Gulacsi saved three penalties when Hungary progressed to the QF of the u20 world championship when Hungary sent the Czechs crashing out. Nemeth had the chance to send Hungary through with Hungary`s last pen, but his effort was extremely poor, and the czech keeper saved with ease. Still, Gulacsi saved the day! Edit: Bollocks, seems I cant correct the typo in the headline!

  17. Haven't had a chance to mention this. My mate bought our Madrid tickets on the website, so they were posted out to his house. Right up to match day there was no sign of the tickets, so he goes up to the ground and they gave him duplicates for us, simply with the word "duplicate" stamped on them. We get into the ground to find 4 Slovakian fellas in our seats. We asked them to show us their tickets to see our tickets, with our names at the bottom and all. The poor fuckers probably stumped up a wedge for them too off some cheeky cunt who's robbed them somewhere along the line of mail delivery, either at the sorting office or maybe the postman himself. Anyway we told them to stand in the aisle, we didn't want to blow them up to the stewards and get them booted out of the ground. And it was sound. But how the fuck does this happen? Who is to say we could of sold our tickets and asked for duplicates?? And I can't believe the club brazenly post you £130's worth of match tickets via standard first class post. Joke eh?
  18. Right, I'm trying to get things organised so we can have the first one tomorrow, but I need to see how many people we defo have in, and who have paid. This is the list I have of those who wanted in. Those who have paid, have a '*' after their name. If you don't have one, but have paid, let me know as I know I have forgotten a few. At the moment I can't access my online banking to check which standing orders are set up, so if you've set one up and have no '*' next to your name let me know. I'll edit this post each time someone pays, or if anyone takes one of the vacant numbers. So far, we have: 1 The Chap * 2 Truered * 3 DT * 4 Jorgen B * 5 Silvah 6 Scouse Missionary 7 Cath * 8 Weeksie * 9 23 Carra Gold 10 Al66Golf * 11 Sh#t Waffle * 12 Stouffer * 13 14 rb14 * 15 Robslappa * 16 atk (Thomas) * 17 AWS * 18 Lofts * 19 Redrobmol * 20 Atk (Eileen) * 21 Kop * 22 23 Kopitegaz * 24 Brownie * 25 26 Me Dad * 27 This Is Anfield * 28 29 Fivetimes * 30 King Emlyn * 31 32 ATK (Lily) * 33 Owen * 34 Dave U * 35 ATK * 36 Me Mum * 37 LFCfanbymistake * 38 39 Redkegs7 * 40 Mr Cath * 41 Will Robbo * 42 Dark Train * 43 44 Wudzy * 45 Mav * 46 Gumps * 47 Sangria * 48 Paul * 49 Drewy *
  19. . . . until we drop more than 5 points off the top leader or we're still top on new years day! I have had enough of all the negatives comments. At the begining of the season 100% of you all would have taken top in both league and CL, whats changed because the team hasn't. Your going to say results have given us hope, last year we would have lost at least 2 of the 4 draws at home. I'm going to have a little break from the forum and ENJOY being TOP OF THE LEAGUE, 6 points clear of the mancs, arsenal no where and with all the money chelsea have got, one point clear of them. I think some of you should join me to calm down and get back into perspective, we TOP on the 16th December. And finally, judge Rafa on a whole seasons work not 25 games, we know he's done excellent in the second half of the season before so lets get behind the team and win this league. I hope when I return this is a far nicer place to be for a team sat at the top of the table. Cheers Lads See you in the New Year
  20. and we'll maintain our position at the top of the league. What a Christmas present that will be. Ungrateful fucks.
