  1. Only a matter of time before its official, and i am wondering how people see us shaping up with this kid in the team (with Agger fit). Is he going to be a bit part player for the first season until he understands what is coming out of Carras face hole when his head turns purple. Or is he going to push a senior player out theres no doubt he has the ability to. Does this mean one of our senior centre backs could be on the way out? with rumours of Marty to Russia. £7million Coates is a "very good piece of business" - YouTube
  2. Rather than hijack the Chelsea thread I thought id move that particular debate to another thread Why do people always use age as an excuse. only have to look at Ashley Cole at 19, Owen, Gerrard, Rooney, Beckham etc People have used Babel's age as an excuse, this is not having a go at Insua but I do hate it when people use someones age or inexperience to make up fro there deficiencies. Take Johnson as a youngster it was clear he was a great attacking full back and nothing has changed, he might defend better now but the things that made him a stand out player were there from a very early age. ---------------------------- Originally Posted by bossy yes Nick but players usually get better as they gain experience ----------- Agreed but its your starting point Again not having a go at Insua but if you could buy Johnson when he was 20 or Insua who would you buy? Saying all of that only Cole and Evra stand out as above average Left Backs and it would be very hard to think of a player better than Aurellio or Insua especially in our current financial position. Just making the point that age shouldnt be made as an excuse to defend a player. Jamie Carragher is the only player who I think has got really better with expericence, if you look at thim now compared to the nightmare against Manu when he scored 2 own goals but overall what you have to work with is what your more or less going to end up with.
