Avoided the Mancs v blueshite today, and went watching my lad play today for his under 10's team in a cup final. An incident happened that caused a rucus both on and off the pitch.
The center foward from my lad's team had beaten a couple and was inside the box ready to shoot. The center half from the opposing tream ran into the box - and comically TRIPPED on his own bootlaces, and crash landed in front of the striker - causing him to mis cue and shoot well wide.
So, bearing in mind that all this was plain to see and there was no issue from anyone about the defenders trip being anything but a ridiculous accident what do you think the ref's decison was?
Well, lets just say it took 15 mins of abandoned play to sort it out as the ref went off to phone someone because no-one had seen this before, and neither bunch of parents had anything but a biased view. So, come on - what do you think the call was then? Pen or not?
