Is the correct answer. Evertonians are the gift that keeps on giving. For all their pontificating and self-righteousness they are just a nasty, twisted and thoroughly unpleasant bunch. They just can't accept that their club is piss poor (except for some of their community stuff), and that we are their superior in every single way. Better stadium, better team, better run, better manager, bigger fanbase, more trophies, more 'pull', more storied history.....etc etc. That their only comeback is JFT39 and murderers is as sickening as it is distasteful. Nobody was murdered at Heysel, so we should be called manslaughterers (actually sounds worse). They wallow in their own cesspit of mediocrity and cannot accept that they are simply no longer a force in modern football. They were, but they didn't move with the times and adapt. Even in our 90s malaise we won a couple of trophies and were in and around the top four mostly. The best thing that could happen to them would be relegation, so they can reset their ambitions and compete for the championship or play offs. I really think if they won either of those trophies they might see some sort of renaissance after promotion. One step back, two steps forward so to speak. I can't see them coping too well in the post-Covid football landscape, and the fact we are champions in all but name will tip many of their hordes over the edge. There will be a deluge of hatred like nothing we've seen before, as they mount their high horses that we would have the temerity to celebrate a title win in the midst of coronavirus. Having seen first hand just how horrible and bitter they can be, I truly hope they fade away into obscurity and further irrelevance. Fuck them sideways with splintered wooden bits of their shitty stadium.

I'm with the Colonel, as I can't see the Great British public standing for an indefinite lockdown, especially with warm weather and blue skies. I think those in areas with greatest population density will be the first to lose their shit, as the psychological toll of lockdown and restrictions of movement bite there hardest. In the 80s the riots were directed at the police as the tools of the State. The question is now whether this issue transcends such a simplistic 'them v us' scenario. Community spirit ain't what it used to be, no amount of well-intentioned Facebook pages, WhatsApp groups or TikTok videos can disguise the general malaise and apathy most feel towards one another.

Well I've been told I often talk out of my arse.

I love all this stuff and think there simply has to be some truth in it given some of those who have witnessed things are former presidents, air force and civilian pilots and such like. If you want to watch a slickly produced documentary to pass a couple of hours, check out Unacknowledged on Netflix. It will make you question what you think you know. Narrated by Giancarlo Esposito too, of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul fame, for a bit of gravitas.

There is definitely too much risk in it restarting any time soon, but avoiding a season 75% complete would be a travesty, to all levels of the pyramid. They simply have to find a solution before starting a new season as there's absolutely no guarantee that one won't be curtailed too. There'll be law changes to future seasons that will have war, pestilence, pandemic or fucking asteroid scenarios built into it to avoid this situation ever happening again. At the end of the day, sporting integrity dictates that success is rewarded and failure isn't. Voiding does the latter and I think there will be a fairly toxic atmosphere when football does eventually return. Saving lives transcends sport but there must come a point when measures are relaxed. As has been pointed out do supermarkets or hospitals shut down if someone catches the virus? One thing is for certain, football as we know it is going to be unrecognisable to what came before. I hope supporters groups, clubs, leagues and broadcasters work together to salvage the good aspects of modern football and vanquish some of the bad, but vested interests will probably mean that supporters will be shafted again.
