    Virgil Van Dijk

Definitely a factor. Another thing I'm curious about is what would Coote had done if Van dijk and Mane had been wearing long sleeves? Because they are now apparently using the shirt sleeves as the area to measure their lines from. So if you're wearing a long sleeve, the VAR official would have to guess exactly where a short sleeve would have been on your upper arm? Or are they banning wearing of long sleeves? It's all a shambles really.

Dale Johnson also highlighted how Coote and Oliver have already been involved in very poor decisions previously. And last night, both were at it again. Jimenez kicked out in retaliation at Koch's cock. Coote did nothing and Oliver in the VAR review room also didn't bother with recommending any punishment. Another controversial example of Oliver and Coote being in cahoots.

The long twitter thread from Dale Johnson is informative regarding the offsides. However, note how often he mentions the word "subjective". That's the problem. When it comes to major decisions like offsides, the decision is still subjective and prone to human error. The whole system would always be compromised by the incompetence of the officials. Because the cunts in the VAR review room still end up choosing which frame to use and where exactly to pin the initial line.

    Nathaniel Phillips

There were quotes from Klopp earlier in the year about him being impressed with Phillips' performances on Bundesliga 2. Could have just been mere words though. It seems he isn't very highly rated because we were looking to loan him out again but couldn't sort out any deals with Championship clubs. Thankfully for him, he's been kept on. Hopefully he takes his chance when it comes and it turns out to be one of Klopp's many unlikely success stories.

    Joel Matip

Even with 4 senior CB options last season, we skated on thin ice a few times because the injury record of Matip and Lovren wasn't great. Someone here already asked- "how many times did we have all 4 of them fit at the same time"?. I reckon it was for less than 10 matches all season. I recall Henderson had to play CB in the club world cup. And Klopp had to temporarily recall Nat Phillips to play in the FA cup against Everton. So it's clear we had issues last season, even with all 4 CBs and Fabinho registered in the squad. I dont know of any serious club going into a season without having 4 proper options at CB. Matip was always going to be a gamble. So I dont understand how people want to justify letting one of those guys go without replacing (i.e Lovren, who despite not been fit regularly, still played 14 games). This is a shorter season, with fewer rest periods. The pressure on the squad was always going to be immense. If there is any season to have a 'bloated' squad, this is the one. Injuries, covid infections and fatigue are all higher risk factors this season.

No, it isnt the same situation. When people say sign a center back, they dont mean find one better than Van Dijk. We mean having one extra experienced CB so that we wont resort to throwing midfielders or kids back there for any extended period. Top clubs go into a season with 4 centre backs at the minimum. We decided to do what City did last season. When they got fucked by Laporte getting injured and started playing Fernandinho there as a replacement. Well it didnt work for them and this season they ended up having to buy 2 new centre backs. We shouldnt have left ourselves in a situation in which we are potentially replicating what happened to City last season. Especially when we know how injury prone one of our other CBs is. Even without Van Dijk's injury happening, it was always a daft thing having only 3 proper CBs in this shortened season, with so many games and fewer rest periods.

Carra sticking up for T-rex Pickford on Sky and then even criticising Sounness for his viewpoint. Unsurprising.

He is a seriously useless cunt, David Coote.

    Virgil Van Dijk

Agree that he needs a ban but I'm sure Everton and Ancelotti would probably be delighted to have him out of the team. He has been shite for them over a long period. Fumbled that Henderson shot into the net yesterday, so lucky VAR came to his rescue.

We did take on Adrian when he was out of contract. It's not like we've never done it under Klopp. Although, some would say "look how that worked out".

    Everton (A) - Premier League - 17/10/20 - 12:30

Apart from the numerous occasions this cunt has screwed us over, there is solid evidence he is the worst of the current lot.

Absolutely no chance Klopp has Gini as a bonafide CB option. He might put Henderson in there as a senior player, if Matip and Gomez get injured. We still have Nat Phillips knocking about too. And the young lad, Koumetio who looks physically robust enough.

It is strange that the width of the red line on the pitch is way greater than the width of the blue line. Also skews the interpretation of the 'offside', doesn't it?

Don't want to go all conspiracy theorist, but there might be some merit to this. Cant recall any other PL team getting as badly shafted by VAR as we did today.

Premier League Round Up (Oct 3-4 2020)

As distasteful as it seemed, the Martial sending off was actually correct according to the rules. It is a shit rule but if you deliberately raise your hand or arm to someone's face, you'll almost certainly be sent off. I reckon Lamela got away with his own offence because he hit Martial in the neck area and not the face. It's the same legitimate reason why Mane wasnt sent off against Arsenal even though the Arsenal fans were crying all over social media about it. The rule is the problem. Harder tackles like Shaw's would get yellow carded but an offence like Marital's would get punished with a red.
  16. Thanks for acknowledging my coolness. Here is a cool fact for your enjoyment - "Adrian has made five errors directly leading to goals in his 21 appearances for Liverpool – as many as first-choice Alisson has in 92 games." So he is basically costing us on average a goal every 4 games compared to every 18 for Alisson. So cool. And there have also been numerous errors which luckily didn't lead to goals as seen in the 2 minute video posted in this thread.
  17. Didn't think Adrian was good enough last season. He got by on being a "big personality". Well his quality certainly doesn't match the size of his personality.
  18. Those wins were mostly despite him being there and not because of him.

    Alisson Becker

What really pissed me off was when Villa had two shots in quick succession which Adrian fumbled before finally picking the ball. Then he grimaces and starts raging at our forward players to run because he wants to throw the ball quickly. We were already 7-2 down. What a clown. Please get well soon, Alisson.

Klopp had no choice. I dont think the Irish lad is ready yet. We really need Alisson to keep fit.
