  1. I wonder if the players have decided that playing once a week gives them the best chance of putting in a Title challenge. I’m hoping like hell that is the case. I don’t for a minute think that Jurgen has lost the dressing room. I actually think wd have a better chance with a week’s training and a single weekend game.
  2. Klopp 2 is still too thin. Much more investment needed. We should be proud they pushed things as far as they have, but the cadre of players who got us to where we are, are shot.
  3. We chuck everything at it including the kitchen sink. I have no idea what Jurgen & Pep have in mind as a 1st 11, but whoever gets the green light gives 120% from kick off. It’s half time and Jurgen has had plenty of time for the team talk. Now the response. A win by at least 4 goals. We’ve done that a lot under Klopp. Up The Mighty Reds.
  4. First class. Do you guys have a breadmaker? Hand mixing the dough?
  5. Hmmm fascinating. Finished reading Penn Jillette’s weightloss book “Presto” in which he details going from death’s door to a healthy lifestyle with a prognosis of ‘good long term health’. His ‘reset’ started with 2 weeks of nothing -and I mean absolutely nothing- except potatoes. Not even any added salt..in fact definitely no added salt, because it raises blood pressure and Penn’s blood pressure was 240/120 when he rocked up to ED after collapsing in a show. No caffeine (little known fact-caffeine temporarily raises blood pressure, but if you have a caffeine ‘allergy’ blood pressure does not return to normal after having caffeine) Anyway! My blood pressure has been edging up of late, so I thought, bugger it, I’ll try this. Lasted one week, and literally got so sick of spuds I had to introduce bananas (another starch) so 2nd week spuds & bananas. I’m watching my blood pressure TUMBLE from a very stubborn 160/90 to anything from 125/80 to 108/75. Brilliant. Weening myself off meds and slowly introducing more whole food plants. Not sure where I’ll end up, in terms of a lifestyle food plan, but I think I’ll be permanently decaf, no added salt (using a potassium salt instead) low fat no ultra processed food for life from here on in.
  6. If memory serves me correct, this is the first time under Klopp that we have competed in the Europa League AND been in a Title challenge. That is a disadvantage I think, because we play Thursday night games, and although we then usually play on Sunday, it gives our main rivals an extra day’s recovery because City & Arsenal are in the Champions League playing in tues & weds nights. Could this explain why we haven’t beaten them this season over those four games? Possibly.
  7. I had the distinct pleasure of watching the 1986 F.A. Cup final over the weekend. I do occasionally go back and relive those legendary past glories. I was struck by the complete lack of ‘hands on’ by all defenders on both sides. It just wasn’t tolerated. Fast forward to Maguire wrapping arms around Bradley today and literally throwing him to the ground. Not just once either. The absolute state of the game today. Once you allow a certain amount of contact into the sport, the refs and VAR get total control as to the degree of the contact and its too fucking subjective. I’m disgusted.
  8. I’ll be honest. A draw is better than I expected. I had a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach for the last 2 days, especially after the other 2 won their games. We could have been well beaten there when we went behind, but we rallied, earned the penalty, and Mo didn’t miss it-which in itself at the moment is a fucking miracle. City and Arsenal drew and now we’ve drawn. There could be more of it to come.
  9. its really about a decades long rivalry where two clubs hate losing to each other. Our new players perhaps haven’t grasped the rivalry yet. We aren’t approaching games against this lot with a killer instinct.
  10. So Klopp's lost his killer instinct and can go in the summer?
  11. earlier in the season we were getting ‘filler’ goals from midfield. That seems to be lacking lately except macca’s boomer. Van Dyke won us the cup.
  12. Well, now we get to see if Arsenal can finally handle the pressure. Have they got the mettle? Played for the draw at City…knowing it was probably their hardest fixture.
  13. It’s a rare mistake, but clearly we don’t want it in a massive game like this..but just look at the amount of youngsters carrying the ream-Bradley, Quansah, Kelleher in goal doing a pretty sterling job. By rights, we shouldn’t really be in a Title race. We’re really a team in transition, but crickey dick we need a ruthless finisher.
  14. We’ve had a poor season against our rivals. That’s been the difference for us, but if we’re honest, its the fact City & Arsenal have dropped points quite a bit that has given us a title run-in. We are just not capable of the ruthlessness that we need. Jota is by far our best finisher, but has languished on & off the bench his whole career with us. At this stage It’s looking like we’ve bought poor replacements for Mane & Bobby in Lucho and Darwin. Hope they prove me wrong, and christ on a bicycle Mo needs to re-prove he’s a goal scorer in the last 7 matches. Is he? Or can he go with Klopp?
  15. We are Arsenal of last season, as much as it pains me to say it. Great football but not the finished article.
  16. If we come away with a draw today, it’s missed chances that put Arsenal back on top by 7 or 8 goals
  17. it’s our finishing that has United at Wembley. It’s the story of our season. Missed chances. We need to change that story. Pronto
