Welcome to the new and improved TLW!

Some of you may experience issues logging in and will get an 'incorrect password' error. Don't worry, you haven't typed it in wrong and your password hasn't been changed. You will need to reset it though in order to log in. Click the reset password link and you will receive an email with your new temporary password. Once logged in, you need to choose a new password (or restore to your old one) otherwise you will be locked out again.

If you have an out of date email address linked to your account, then you won't receive the new password. If that's the case then you'll need to email me (dave @liverpoolway.co.uk) or send me a tweet @theliverpoolway and I'll update your password manually.

Any other problems or questions just let me know.

Thanks

Dave

Should the UK remain a member of the EU

From Jason @NickMotown on Twitter: “I’m unconvinced that Uri Geller can fix Brexit, but he could be the key to tackling knife crime.”
  2. Edges closer to the door? Throw a tennis ball out and when he rushes out to grab it, lock the damned door.

If it was limited to just people with a vote in the UK I would agree totally, but it isn't. I do remember when online petitions were scorned on here, and rightly so. I'm not disagreeing it's all a shit sandwich and that people are desperate though, that much us obvious.

People clinging to an online petition that is open to abuse via multiple votes, bots etc, that's pretty pathetic. Desperation, that's what it looks like.

You are putting words in my mouth, I didn't think "good man" I thought it was shit but I understood why he had to do it and not allow his feelings to cloud his view. Forums are about discussion and opinion, I'm not changing mine and respect yours, but you're wrong.

He would have gone down in my estimation if he hadn't produced the yellow card, you cannot have one rule for one instance and a quite different for another when exactly the same offence has been committed. You simply cannot allow feelings to rule football when officiating and to suggest it's ok is wrong. Would your opinion have been the same if Sterling or Aguero had done something similar, not been booked (while being on a yellow already) and it resulted in them scoring a winner? You see this rule isn't open to interpretation and that is what makes it a good rule. It doesn't need technology or three officials with a monitor. When you allow individuals interpretation to creep in, in what is a simple and easy to officiate rule, then it devalues the game.

They've been doing this on the M53 for years and it's not changed anything.

I think you'll find their lineage of blame goes back much further than 14 years.

Somewhere between sponsors wanting the money shot on TV and players started using it for all kinds of messages.

Oh I can guarantee the drunken driving prozzy hunter that we would be fucking unbearable for at least a decade.

About Oliver booking a player for taking his shirt off. I get people will think it was a tragic event and they could have let it pass without a booking. Trouble is, who decides how tragic the next event is, or the next? At what point do referees let it slide and at what point do they book? You can't have a rule as clear as this is and then wave it when it suits. We as fans have complained long enough about inconsistency and now we're calling for it to be allowed? I want less inconsistency. The rule is the rule and the player knew what would happen. Fair play to him, and the ref. I never want to see a referee ignore the rules because of feelings, because that isn't fair.

little things that annoy the shit out of you

I know that the new rules mean you have to give them a wide berth when overtaking, but I've noticed this year far more cars hurtling towards me 'head on' as they overtake bikes dangerously, which isn't the cyclists fault, I get that. Either that or long queues of traffic moving at a snails pace. They claim to be much cleaner on the roads, but their holding up of traffic surely negates that.
