  1. The pod for today's game is going to be a barrel of laughs. Not!
  2. Got absolutely no love for city but how on Earth was Fernandez' goal allowed to stand when clearly offside Rashford makes a clear play for the ball like he did? Rashford clearly makes an attempt to play the ball. If running to within less than an metre of the ball isnt attempting to play it, I dont know what is. But then I noticed who the ref was, Stuart Attwell, the very same ref who repeatedly screws us over. Then you have that utter clown in charge of our game today. Didnt even wait a minute to book Matip for a challenge after booking Dunk for a far worse foul and then wasted no time pointing to the spot for Brighton when he didnt give a 2nd look at the Brighton keeper knocking Mo over.
  3. Jurgen always does. He needs to start hanging some of his under performing players out to dry now though.
  4. That was a hard fucking watch and not just because the PL was cutting just about every streaming service I could find. Thanks PL but if you allowed clubs to stream their own away games at least, it would stop your problem and give clubs more money. But you dont want to do that or rather the 13 smaller PL clubs dont want it because having smaller fanbases, they wouldnt get as much money as the now so called 'legacy' clubs. It was hard getting the flow of the game especially with a ref who seemed intent on penalising us yet again while letting Brighton players off. Within seconds of booking Dunk for a huge pull back, the ref couldnt wait to wave the card at Matip for a tackle in which the Brighton player theatrically went down rolling around. He wasnt the last to do that, either. We made very little impact up front with Mo, Ox and Gakpo who's probably thinking 'what the fuck have I done coming here?' It's early days for the boy but my, he's joined the team at the wrong time. Minutes before half time, the ref proved my point when he laughably pointed to the spot after Alli went for the ball in our box and the brighton player went down theatrically 2 full steps after going past Alli! The actual fuck? You thought that was a pen while you didnt give a second thought when the brighton keeper bundled Mo over? Some might say the challenged on Mo wasnt a pen. In that case neither was the Brighton one which was only scrubbed because of an offside. Confident VAR would have overturned it if there was no offside because Im pretty certain it wouldnt have. Never mind, within 120 seconds of the 2nd half restart, we fucking conceeded. 2 fucking minutes. Again. Sorry, the players arent giving a fuck because this is happening far too often. Professional pride should kick in if it happens once or twice. How many times has it happened now? Too fucking often. At the end of the 1st half, I had a feeling if Brighton scored, they'd win because we didnt look like we had a goal in us. Yet another game this season where we could be playing till midnight and still not score. Would Darwin have made a difference? We'll never know because he's another of our players injured in training. WTF is going on? Is Kornmeyer running some SAS kind of fitness regime and actually wrecking the players? Worse was to come with another 2 goals against. The truth is we didnt look like we deserved anything from this game except null point. The ref bought into the brighton players theatrics. Funny they stopped rolling around when they were 2 up. The players look like they have lost the belief that saw them implement Klopp's plan 110% every game. Now, they look like they have 90% belief at best which plummets to less than 50% as the game goes against them. Jurgen's really between a rock and a hard place now if he wasnt already. Some on here might not want to admit it but they're on the verge of saying 'Klopp out!'. But would 2 new midfielders stop the rot? I dont know. Fabinho looks like he's running through treacle. Trent is all at sea but to be fair to the lad, he cant be defending, playing midfield and running down the wing banging perfect crosses in all at the same time. Ive this niggling feeling that Mo's bumper contract has blown apart the team spirit and unity. It doesnt show as anything towards Mo on the pitch but who knows what goes on in the back of a player's mind? Up front, Mo looks isolated and seems to be thinking about perfect control for the perfect shot by which time, he's got 3 oppos around him and any chance gone. Sadio, please come home! I get the feeling the club and manager accept there'll be no CL football next season now unless we win it but even my head and heart cant get on that particular hill. Instead, we'll look to rebuild next summer. But despite what Jurgen says, I think we will struggle to get the quality players we'd need. It's really, really hard to believe we played every game we could last season, were within a whisker of the big 2 trophies and winning the little ones yet 6 months later, we are a team that looks utterly broken and disjointed.
  5. I dont disagree with that. Said it before, too many players arent giving 100% never mind 110. Thiago's a great creative player but he isnt what we need right now when oppos are strolling through us. Fabinho has looked like he's been running through treacle certainly from the start of this season. Since Mo got his bumper contract, the team unity seems to have evaporated quicker than snow in the Sahara. We've been getting needless injuries in training never mind actual games and the medical department has fucked up numerous times not getting inuries operated on etc.
  6. This game is a watershed moment. I hope it is the low water mark.
  7. Funny how the brighton players have stopped all the play acting of being seriously injured to impress the ref since they took the lead.
  8. It's a poor performance by a team effectively playing with 1 striker, low on confidence and several players not performing at the level of previous seasons. Despite that some of the comments on here, fuck me, if they'd been in the Attaturk at half time 3-0 down, would have joined those 2 lads who fucked off out the stadium.
  9. Fuck me, there's some play acting going on here. If some of these lads would have to play against Tommy Smith, Chopper Harris, Norman Hunter and the likes, theyd be shitting themselves before taking the field.
  10. Just fuck off, that's on the players. Yet again, conceeding seconds after the start of a half. Had a bad feeling this was a game where if the oppos score, it's enough to win the game.
  11. I fucking sick to death of these shite refs. We've got 2 yellows yet Brighton only have one even after their player had afters on Alli? The ref doesnt even consider a pen when the Brighton keeper knock Mo down yet he's immediately pointing to the spot when the brighton player takes 2 steps after Alli's challenge before he goes down? Just fuck off you corrupt cunt. We look short of ideas up front which isnt surprising given Mo's up there virtually on his own. We're finding it hard to be committed in the tackle which again isnt surprising seeing as the ref is quick to give fouls against us.
  12. The fucking lad took 2 steps after Alli's challenge before he went down! Not surprised this ref pointed to the spot though even though it was offside, he's a right cunt. He wasnt interested when Brighton keeper knocked Mo down.
  13. Didnt watch the game, good result for arsenal this. city 1 up then losing to 2 goals in 4 minutes? I dont think Ten Hag has done anything remarkable except fuck Ronaldo off and install some discipline (which should be present in any team of professionals any way). Other than that, I think it's a question of 'who wants the result most?' Again, every team, including us, will say they go on the field with that attitude. But clearly, we arent unlike other seasons when we have and managed to come from behind to win many games. Now, we're conceeding first far too often which says to me, the players dont believe they 'want it more.'
  14. It's fucking shit that PL sides, including us, can sign players on loan. This is supposed to be the richest footballing league in the world and clubs are trying to plead poverty \ save cash by abusing this system. Get it fucked off or at least such that you can only get a keeper in on loan at this level when needed and be allowed to loan out no more than 4 or 5 U21 players to stop the likes of chelsea buying up youth and loaning them out.
  15. Good news is Trossard dropped from the squad by Brighton for disciplinary reasons, walked out of training after finding he wouldnt play in their FA Cup game.
  16. I see Moshiri is now blabbing that the stadium is costing £760m, not the £500m never mind the still only £350m they tell everyone. That's going to be one hell of a debt to carry even if they stay in the PL never mind if they do slip into the Championship. And that's not including any other operating debt that looks likely to continue growing. How the fuck can the PL sit on their hands and not sanction them?
  17. Just fuck off with this shit, fucking Darwin injured in training now and a doubt for Saturday? What the fuck is going on in training that we get these injuries? Not fucking good enough. Get it sorted.
  18. Even Alli makes fuck ups. Despite him being a world class keeper and our number one. It would be interesting to know how many of his brainfarts like against Wolves have cost us goals. I can think of a few. The deciding factor in Kelleher staying or going will, as most of us suspect, be down to the player. He's clearly capable of holding down a first team spot somewhere. We arent going to drop Alli so, Kelleher is only ever getting domestic cup games or any injuries to Alli. The lad will want to play and it would be a risk to sell Alli and make him number 1 Of course if we miss out on CL footie for a couple of consecutive seasons, Alli may decide he has to move if he wants top level games but by then, Kelleher could have moved on.
  19. Dont know why people do it to themselves. Much as I dislike united, Im not going to tie myself in knots if they do win the league cup any more so if newcastle win it or arsenal win the league. Of the teams left in, I cant see past a united newcastle final with united spawning it. In the league, I still dont see arsenal winning it and it's baffling to me why so many say they will, when, in 2019, we'd got it sown up in January with a 15 point lead and some on here refusing to accept we'd won it. They might win it but I think city's bigger strength in depth will tell in the end despite their apparent shit show last night. That was Guardiola's 2nd team at best with his eye on the manc derby on Saturday. Just my thoughts though.
  20. The commentator was spouting utter shite at the end. The way him and 'chappers' were going on, you'd think newcastle had just got through to the EFL Cup semi because they'd developed a load of local talent rather than spunking £200m on virtually a new team in the last couple of windows. Fuck me, and geordies still go on about us only winning 1 PL title in 30 years yet you have to go all the way back to the 60's for when they last won a trophy. It'll just be there luck to avoid the 2 mancs and get the winner of forest v wolves in the semi.
  21. Yeah and newcastle looking more like us from 2016 onwards.
  22. Qatar has signalled potential interest in taking a stake in Tottenham Hotspur after the nation's most influential sporting chief met with Daniel Levy. Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who is also president of Paris Saint-Germain, held talks with the executive chairman last week as the nation weighs up ambitious post-World Cup investment. Sources close to Levy maintain the pair met only as friends and there were no discussions "regarding equity of the club". However, other insiders suggested the subject may now be raised as Qatar Sports Investments considers the possibility of a new minority stake at a Premier League club. An offer worth under £1 billion for a 25 per cent stake in Tottenham was mooted by industry specialists as an option, with Al-Khelaifi and Levy said to be on good terms. Representatives for Manchester United are also understood to have tested interest at high levels in Qatar in recent months, but the suggestion at this stage is that Spurs would be a more likely prospect. One source with knowledge of the situation said it was too early to say whether Qatar would now ask for formal talks with Tottenham. However, the insider added that European sport can expect "strategic acquisitions that are going to be quite bold" from QSI in the coming months. "Over Christmas and New Year, there's a push from senior levels to really go for it at QSI," the insider added. "The suggestion that Qatar is going to pack up and leave after the World Cup has always frustrated BeIN (the Qatari-owned broadcaster), QSI and PSG." Last October, QSI bought a 22 per cent stake of Portugal’s SC Braga for around £90million. But Doha-based sporting investment arm has since set loftier ambitions to rival that of the multi-club UAE ownership at Manchester City. Prior to the World Cup, there had been minimal interest in Premier League investment but it now seems the mood has changed. Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who is also president of Paris Saint-Germain, is ready to expand Qatar's portfolio Credit: GETTY IMAGES Interest would be limited to a minority investment because Uefa remains opposed to the prospect of teams under the same ownership facing each other in European competition. "It might not be Tottenham but it might be," said the insider over potential interest in Spurs. Al-Khelaifi was said to be acting solely in his role at QSI rather than as head of the European Club Association during the meeting with Levy, who is also a member of the ECA board. Al-Khelaifi is also known to be in talks with American investors over fresh investment in PSG and BeIN ahead of the World Cup in America in 2026. More than 300 clubs around the world are part of multi-club ownership groups but QSI's only interests are in PSG and Braga. QSI are looking at football investment opportunities around the world. Despite denials from Tottenham that any investment talk has taken place with Levy, the prospect of significant new funds may appeal to Joe Lewis, the multi-billionaire owner. Antonio Conte has consistently pushed for more significant backing to compete at the top of the table. To help cope with his demands, Lewis injected an extra £150million into the club in May after Enic, the Bahamas-based subsidiary, increased its majority control of the club by about two percentage points. t is the unique position in which Nasser Al-Khelaifi finds himself in the wake of the Qatar World Cup that makes an investment offer at Tottenham a possibility. Internal meetings since the final in Doha have hardened the nation's determination to seek out fresh, ambitious football investment within Europe. Manchester United and Liverpool - both openly seeking new partners - might seem a more obvious fit, but a total buyout is said to be of less interest to Qatar while they protect their outright ownership at PSG. There is, however, keen interest in following the Manchester City multi-club investment model, with a host of minority stakes across Europe and beyond. The Premier League is just one option for Qatar's next move but a stake at Spurs would be as good a fit as any, sources said. Despite denials from the Daniel Levy camp that any investment talks have taken place, Tottenham will have a price in mind should Al-Khelaifi come calling again. As a guide price, Levy was said to have placed a £3.5 billion total price tag on the club when he was last approached by an interested bidder in September 2021. That fee was branded laughable by some industry experts at the time but, given Chelsea sold for that exact same price by the following spring, Levy will feel his number was in the right ballpark. Clearly the club lacks the trophy-winning pedigree of Chelsea, Liverpool or United, but in terms of overall assets, Tottenham are not far behind. Antonio Conte remains one of the world's most sought-after managers; Harry Kane and Son Heung-min would be prized by any club; and there is a world-class stadium that may yet start to earn the club serious money. A naming rights deal is still yet to materialise but talks with Google in the autumn sparked renewed hope that a solution was in sight. Tottenham and their seemingly endless failure to land silverware is a gamble, but Qatar has big enough pockets to take the risk. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2023/01/09/qatar-talks-tottenham-plot-post-world-cup-investment/
  23. They probably dont know Spurs history. In any event, I dont think they really care. All they are interested in is their ownership project and sports washing. An article in the Torygraph suggests talks with spurs and Levy are very cordial and spurs are the Qatari's preferred option.
