  1. 3-0 WTF!? Sacked in the morning I think. Whistles of derision around the Westfalon.
  2. My word, what are Dortmund doing? 2-0 down at home to Paderborn, bottom club in the Bundesliga.
  3. Well technically, if Moshiri wanted a quick exit he could sell the club for a quid. Been done before with bigger businesses.
  4. Completely agree. They are fucked. My one fear is some knob within the PSG ownership decides they are a better bet than Leeds and buys them instead. As a club everton are decent enough, they do try and act with some dignity. It's just a sizable number of their fans who are uber twats.
  5. I think that was for the World Cup in Russia where they built that temporary stand on! How many fucking rats and seagulls will they make homeless if they ever build on Bramley Moore Dock? Eh, eh, eh?
  6. This is very good news. With the Kirkby training site coming to completion in the next 6 months, it was clear the club had to start making plans for a new and improved ARE. We can all dream of an 80k stadium but, there's no space within the current footprint never mind, being able to fill it every game. I think the ARE is going to be a real challenge to get sufficient additional seats in to be much over 62k and give good sightlines. People dont want to be miles from the pitch never mind the players looking like ants down the Kop end. There's space to add in extra rows on the Main Stand side of the Annie where the current Annie Road roof supports are. This will also make the very corner block in the Main Stand fully saleable unlike now due to the restricted view. The roof of the SKD is going to be an issue because for people in the ARE to see down the full length of the pitch, either the angle of ARE stand has to be shallow and go back a long way or the SKD roof line would have to be changed. Both are do-able Im not a structural engineer but there may be some way to reposition the SKD roof support in the ARE corner so that a curved corner could be put in? There's plenty of space behind the ARE to the park boundary and I hope residents dont kick off again and frustrate and delay the whole build.
  7. The original sign was about 2 foot square and just had 'THIS IS ANFIELD' in white letters on a red background. This one dates from the mid 80's I believe.
  8. If someone was to bung £500m their way, top managers probably would jump at the chance. But no one will so they wont! I bet they're saying they never wanted Mourinho anyway and Pochettino is the one they really, really want. Dream on boys and girls.
  9. It's clear mourinho has for the most part, enjoyed spending big at the clubs he's managed with the exception of Porto. I dont know about his time at Inter whether he did or didnt. But, as Porto showed, he clearly can or at least could, build a team not spending astronomical amounts. It also seems logical to me that either he's gone there knowing he'll have a more limited budget or Levy is going to spend, spend, spend. I cannot see Levy sanctioning big spending because of the cost of the stadium. He may have sanctioned a bit of a fire sale in January with all the money going to Mourinho but even then, it's doubtful much would be raised and it would clearly weaken the squad. Despite that Mourinho appears happy to go along with it so, in my humble opinion, there's more to it than people are thinking. All this sacking and hiring just went through too quickly for their to be any issues about how much he has to spend blah, blah, blah.
  10. Well, well, well, what did I tell ye? Like a rat up a sewer pipe. They'll be a far tougher side when we get to play them away. Good thing is though, they'll be a tougher side for city to play against as well. He clearly knows what his budget is going to be so I wouldnt let thoughts of 'he'll get no budget' cloud your thinking either.
  11. To be fair, playing Estonia would be like playing a bottom half of the Championship team. Still good he got 3 and his finishing could be better for us, players just dont get the time in the PL like they do in some internationals though. Nice one for the taffys as well.
  12. Fucking hell, FIFA need to sort this international calender out. How the fuck can some teams have played two games by Monday evening and yet we have others still playing on Wednesday night!?
  13. Levy's a tit. There was mega speculation in the news today a parting was coming but I find it unbelievable they've sacked him now. Unless of course it is 'mutual consent.' They reckon morinho, allegri and naglesman are in with a shout? I reckon jose will there like a rat up a sewer pipe. The fuck he's bothered he managed chelsea.
  14. Im not sure the owl will have his players up for this. Im pretty certain the players will either be up for it themselves or not. Palace have been pretty dismal of late but Selhurst Park is always a difficult place to go because their crowd gets behind their team all game. My arse always twitches when we go there. We've had some good results there recently but I always have a doubt in my mind. I think Liverpool under Jurgen have got very cagey about injuries affecting team selection to try and throw oppo managers off the scent. But Im also pretty certain oppo managers know the score anyway. Im certain we'd cope if Mo and Robbo didnt play, less so if Virgil's 'personal circumstances' prevent him playing. Fingers crossed for the big man. I wouldnt be disappointed with a draw there although would love the win.
  15. I pissed myself so much reading this I actually had to go take a shower and change my trousers!
  16. I cannot see them getting 60m+ for Richarlison even in this market.
  17. Agreed. And finding any 'quality' fullbacks to sign for the club in the knowledge they arent shifting either of Trent or Andy is just pie in the sky thinking.
  18. Since 2007, these European clubs have been the World Club Champions: AC Milan, manchester united, Barcelona (3 times), Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid (4 times). Spot the glaring omission!
  19. We'd only play 2 games at this World Championship. That would be semi and final or semi and 3rd place. Ive seen elsewhere some say concentrate on winning the 2 domestic cups instead. But to win the EFL cup we'd have to play another 4 games and worse case scenario is you'd have 3 periods of extra time ie Villa, one semi and final. In the FA Cup we'd have to play 6 times to win it. Worse case scenario is a replay in 3rd and \ or 4th round with potentially extra time in any of the remaining ties as there are no replays from and including the 5th round. That's a minimum 10 extra games excluding any replays and or extra time. There's no gaurantees in winning any competition but I think being World Champions would be massive for the club.
  20. I think it's important to draw the distinction that CAS hasnt dropped the case and in fact has done the opposite. If the most recent reports are correct, CAS has decided against city's claim they've done nothing wrong and UEFA are perfectly in order to determine a punishment. Would city's owner then try and bankrupt UEFA which is in itself, a collection of football associations, including the FA? Who knows but surely if they do, it's akin to chopping your own leg off. They truely will become the pariah of European football and indeed English football if they go down that root. True, UEFA and the FA may be despised by a lot of fans but it's strange how a particular cause or opponent brings people together in opposition to the litigant.
