  1. Hope they get to stage the game on their own ground.
  2. How many times have English teams contested the Champions League Final since the ban was lifted? We've been in 4 finals, the mancs 3 or 4, chelsea 1, arsenal 1, spurs 1. The only time they even 'qualified' was when the premier league ignored UEFA's protocol of forwarding the previous year's winners, us, ahead of the 4th placed PL club. The cunts have had plenty of time since Heysel to qualify for the CL but the truth is, they've been shit too often. Fuck 'em.
  3. No because the roof supports for the Main Stand and SKD roofs are there.
  4. Looks very impressive. The owners should be congratulated for keeping us at Anfield and increasing the capacity befitting this club.
  5. The sevilla manager played a blinder with his pre match presser saying chelsea were the best attacking team in the world. His players held out a full 8 minutes! Fucking clown. Nice to see the mancs get beat. What, no pen for fernandes to do his feinting routine? Not so easy to win when you dont get your obligatory pen, is it?
  6. Cool. I guess with all the young lads being drafted into the first team squad, the U23s are going to be caught out.
  7. I think fewer Scottish players have been signed by top English clubs since non UK players could be signed? They also used to have this thing about players they called 'Anglo's' the ones who left scotland to play in England and have maybe tried to retain the players in the Scottish PL?
  8. Spot on about the criticism of Neco, Dave. seems to be the trend with a lot of the social media crowd. I saw a clip on You Tube of some cunt pretending to be a Liverpool fan wanting Klopp sacked!
  9. Has all the hallmarks of as big a shitfest as VAR has turned out to be.
  10. I expect him to as well. I read last night's selection was as much as Adrian's playing against Wolves. It's no surprise Ajax are a better footballing side than Wolves. That's no disrespect to Wolves, they play some good stuff. But they're also more physical than Ajax and after conceeding 7 to city's U23's a few days prior. Im not sure Kelleher would stand the rigours of wolves in the PL. Kelleher played well last night. Made a couple of important saves and did everything that was asked of him. If he plays against Wolves, I wish him the best and hope he has a good game.
  11. Id like to know how our first choice keeper is getting injured regularly. Injured in training by a teammate now after the false covid rumour, he's out with a hamstring injury? I dont think Ive ever heard of a keeper getting a hamstring injury. Beginning of last season, his calf muscle went twang after 20 minutes of a game. It's bizarre it's always Alli, Adrian hasnt picked up these injuries, has he?
  12. 3 points, a clean sheet and qualification gauranteed. Overall not a very accomplished display. If Bobby had of played as poorly as Mo and Sadio, he'd have been slaughtered. Love Mo but he needs to get his head out of his arse and pass the fucking ball. Sadio was as bad. That ref was fucking shit, as well. Gave Ajax loads and just gave us yellow cards. We go again.
  13. I think the train idea is a non starter when you examine it closely. You either need a lot of frequent, short trains, say 4 carriage units like the Tyne and Wear Metro or longer trains of 6 or more carriages for capacity but run less frequently. But the problem you have is getting the trains to run at short intervals so you can rapidly move people from one place to another. Even the Tyne and Wear Metro trains into the dedicated St James' station are about 10 minutes apart and the service isnt really increased on matchdays. You also have the practicalities of running a railway with no 2 trains in the same 'block' or stretch of track. using St James' after a game is pure carnage. If you've had to wait for the fourth train at 10 minutes intervals, that means you're kicking your heels for the best part of 40 minutes before you get moving. Faced with that, people will decide to drive, get the bus etc. Then, as you say, there's the issue with it's current use and capacity.
  14. The way I look at is, until there's something from the club, it isnt worth bothering about.
  15. Yeah agree with a lot of that. I cannot see 'safe standing' at this club but if they do, it will only be a small section as you say and no more than 1 for 1 in my opinion. Neither can I see the club getting involved in another shit storm of publicity of forcing people out of their homes to increase the SKD and or Walton Breck and buying out the match day gold mine stores would be incredibly expensive. To me, as I said, they could possibly jack up the SKD roof for a few more rows but you're still talking sub 3000 seats v cost of the upgrade. The Westfallon is in the middle of a park. Unless there were building restrictions in place when they upgraded the stadium, Im still a bit surprised at how the stands are placed. But that's the major problem with Anfield, it's hemmed in on two sides. Ive had stewards come to me on the SKD Upper first row and say they've women who are frightened by sitting on the back row being so high up and 'would I mind swapping seats' with them for the game! It's not just the numbers, it's the sight lines people would have when you build higher and further back.
  16. This stuff should be in the shiteness of modern football. Someone starts a rumour. Someone else sees the rumour on the internet then someone claiming to be an ITK says yeah, they can confirm the rumour as they've had whispers. Then the rumour becomes 'the truth.' Really falling out of love with football and all this bullshit.
  17. I read some people commenting again on the Echo piece saying 'next add another 12k on the Kop.' I dont know where these people think the space for an additional 12,000 people on the Kop would come from. It's fanciful of people talking of re routing Walton Breck. It's a major road. Getting businesses to move out of their match day goldmines, never mind those who live in the streets behind would cost 10's of millions of pounds. The existing Kop would virtually have to be torn down with new foundations, access, stairways and roof. The sight lines would be shite with the players looking like ants. They may be able to stick another 10 rows on the SKD Upper by jacking up the roof but what would the cost be for roughly 2500 seats? As you say, ARE is virtually it.
  18. From a blue nose taxi driver? Must be true.
  19. Im inclined to agree with you. Lots of people are getting fucked off with VAR affecting results. Why spend 50 quid to see a game when the result hinges on an officious VAR knobhead drawing millimeter wide lines in some portacabin outside of London? Then you have supposedly 40% of the population saying they wont have the jab and despite the test results, no vaccine is ever going to eradicate it. Wouldnt surprise me in the least if that knock anything like 5000 to 10000 off the gate for a couple of years at least. Dont know about cones but they've been putting a few 'test' bricks out according to the Echo!
  20. I know Liverpool winning the title last season was cathartic for Stevie. Hopefully if he wins a title in his own right with Rangers, it will finally lay his demons to rest. Ive no interest in scottish football but I want to see Stevie do well.
  21. Couldnt give a fuck about the domestic cups and I hope Jurgen plays a very young side again. All the other teams in it, except Marine, Chorley and either of Canvey island or Boreham Wood if they get through, will play with their weakest team. But, we'll be the only ones to be criticised for doing it. They're all banging on that we should play our 'squad' to cover our injured players etc so, they cant have it both way. Fuck em.
  22. Haha, that's as much a pen as Robbo's. Haha, what a shitfest they have now unleashed.
  23. Leicester do have this ability to self implode, dont they?
  24. No. It's just while this lockdown called Tier 1, 2 and 3 restrictions are in place. Each ST has to be in one person's name and can be shared with family when this stuff is lifted and we're back to 'normal.'
