Exactly. Some folk seem to be searching for the perfect player but does he exist in our price range?

Thing that strikes me is compare our performance yesterday to that against the 'title decider' at their place in 2018/19. We were, in my opinion, the better side in the 2018 game. We lost because a ball was 9 centimeters from going over the line, Kompany's assault on Mo went unpunished and Sane's ball that hit the post rolled along the line before going in. But overall, the performance was head and shoulders over that yesterday. -

I love Dave's analysis. He tells it how it is, the good points and the bad points and isnt into absolutes like some. Totally agree with Dave about changing our style against them and think we'll get beat if we approach the semi the way we did this game. First half was very, very poor. Felt we put ourselves under far too much pressure trying to play it around at the back. We've got away with it against lesser teams but it doesnt work against city. And Matip needs to stop deflecting De Bruyne's shots past Alli! Wembley's pitch isnt bigger. It's the same length but a metre wider, isnt it? -

If we can nick a few goals against Benfica and Jurgen is confident making 5 changes in the last 25 - 30 minutes of that game will not allow them back into the game, then possibly we may be fresher. But I thought we looked gased as this game went on and thought if Sterling's goal had stood, we werent going to come back a 3rd time. I wouldnt say Jota is an unfit lad but even he was blowing hard on 60 minutes. I want us to win every game but I fear this semi is going to derail our season especially if it's another 120+ minute marathon. Lots of people saying there were gaps between our front 3 and midfield yesterday. Yes, that's what happens when your players are fucking exhausted. -
Yeah factory farming isnt good animal husbandry but, cows arent kept pregnant to produce milk. Like all female mammals, once they've given birth, they produce milk until the young stop sukling or in the case of cows, stop being milked by farmers. It isnt good that the young calves are seen as a 'by product' in the dairy farming industry though.

I like meat, not the processed stuff, although I have to say I do like a good Aberdeen Angus burger from Asda.

His telling contribution about the game: Liverpool cannot be called a great team if they only have 1 PL title to their name. My club (who can afford to put a £100m player on the bench for the best part of 80 minutes of this game), can be called a great team because they've won multiple titles. It fell to Neville to point out Liverpool have spent a fraction of the money city have and who have a seemingly bottomless pit of money with which to buy those multiple titles preventing Liverpool from winning them. The man's a fucking moron. He guffaws all the way through games when city are winning then acts the grumpy arse when his team lose or are pegged back. All the stuff by oppo fans about too many ex Liverpool players being pundits is blown away just to have utter fools like Micah Richards spout his myopic shit. -
Yes, which Ive acknowledged elsewhere regarding Trent but defensively were all over the place most of the game.

Ah well, none of us are getting any younger!
-
Sorry bud, only just seen this ref to Dot Cotton!
-
And both fullback and defensive mid!
-
You mean Juan Browne, the airline captain although he's second seating 777s to get his captain's rating on them?
-
Agreed! I think Alli and Thiago are the best shouts over the 90 minutes, Id probably lean towards with Alli.
-
Dot Cotton?

De Bruyne is a fantastic player as well as a being a big strapping lad. We all know Fab has no pace whatsoever but I think a number of our player are running on fumes a lot. Jota was blowing hard after 60 minutes.

I know, the same players who reeled in a 14 point gap on city. Bizarre world, isnt it?! -
Are we talking about our midfield that reeled in a 14 point gap on city or another one? Our problem today wasnt solely down to our midfield to any great degree. The problem today was Fabinho who was exceptionally poor all game today. I dont think Ive seen him have so poor a game he hardly ever won the ball in a tackle or made a pass to a red shirt. Trent apart from the pass for Jota's goal was poor all the first half. Improved a bit during the 2nd half but not a lot. Matip really struggled for Pace again, especially during the first half. Robbo just wasnt composed most of the time and van Dijk was shaky as well. And sorry, what did Keita do when he came on except fall over, give the ball away and seem anonymous?

Yep. My fear is this cup semi is going to fuck us over and prove to be one game too many. We already have many players who looked gased. -

Yep, they were losing their footing. Should bin off these blades and wear proper boots with 4 studs under the sole and 2 longer ones in the heel. -
Did you deliberately miss the bit where I said about excellent pass for the equaliser? Asking for a friend.

The BBMF one, City of Lincoln(?) flew over our house about 5 years ago with a Spit and Hurricane. Think they were coming back from a fly past up the coast between Southport and Blackpool. The sound of at least 5 Merlins was awesome (not sure if the Hurricane has a Merlin engine as well!).

Give people 2.5 centimeters and they'll take the distance travelled by light in a vacuum in 0.1299792458th of a second! -
I love Mo but he's out of sorts. I really hoped he'd batter city single handedly today but it wasnt to be. One excellent pass to Sadio for the equaliser doesnt mean he's had a good game. Right now, he looks fucked mentally and physically. All those 120 minutes games drain even the best players. The fucking about with his contract does no one any favours. And time and time again, you see other players who let contract negotiations affect their form. He needs to sort his contract out one way or the other. If he wants more money that the club can \ will not pay, make your decision to sign and stay of tell the club you're moving on and want out at the end of the season. He then needs to stop thinking too much about his play and just be instinctive again. Too often he's wanting an extra touch, more time or a better position. Just play the fucking ball, Mo!

And £100m! But according to 'Micah,' Liverpool cannot be considered a great team unless they win a 2nd PL title. This despite the fact his club can spend £100m on a player and stick him on the subs bench for 75 minutes of the biggest game of the season and that's before you look at the money they have paid to win 3 of the last 4 title races. You really couldnt make it up!
