  1. Me too, I thought he was basically a shit Emre Can until recently.
  2. The rumours I've seen from scouts on twitter seem to suggest that Edwards was increasingly disagreeing with Klopp about the first team squad and that contributed to his departure. Specifically about not being allowed to sell players who he thought were past it (Henderson, Milner, Wijnaldum) and allowing some players to run their contracts down (Mane, Salah, Wijnaldum again). Usually I'd just ignore twitter rumours but these are from people who actually work in the game. Still could be bollocks though, there's probably a million reasons he wanted to move on.
  3. I'd start Fabinho in this, Ajax might be more his level. Certainly hasn't been Premier League standard this year.
  4. I think we're in "do as little as possible to get the win" mode today, only the players stopped listening after the first five words.
  5. He'd need to realise he wouldn't get even half the decisions he currently gets playing for us. He's one of the best in the league at "manufacturing" contact, but if he thinks that'd be effective in a Liverpool shirt then Mo Salah would like a word.
  6. He'll be 30 in a few weeks, I don't think we need any more players in that age bracket.
  7. And probably another £10m a year if Ox goes as well.
  8. £17m a year in transfer and wages off the amortisation bill from summer. Even FSG might let us do something with that.
  9. Thought Fabinho was comfortably our worst midfielder, and Trent comfortably our worst defender. (Although he did pick some wonderful passes.) Henderson, well, that was an improvement on his recent form. Trent on the right of that 4-4-2 could work you know. Elliott won't play every game and it's a waste having Salah there.
  10. Alisson Becker is the best goalkeeper I've ever seen.
  11. Would have left Elliott in rather than start Nunez myself. Asking a lot of Salah defensively here.
  12. This is a must-win game. Trent will come back in I guess, don't see Milner managing two games in a week. I wouldn't bother with Nunez, I don't think the 4-4-2 would work with all of him, Bobby and Mo on the pitch. We need to play with the same attitude and commitment as against City. Will be a different type of game as West Ham will sit deep and play for a point, but if we put in the same level of effort as we did at the weekend we should win.
  13. Mourinho was angling for the Liverpool job throughout the first half of 2004, Moores and Parry opted for Rafa instead. A good decision.
  14. What is your mate basing that on? Seems like he fucking hates us. Also, I can't think of a manager less suited for how FSG want to run things than him. He's a perfectionist trying to create an unbeatable football team, he requires the best players he can get. Could you imagine telling Pep he couldn't have Haaland and had to turn Darwin Nunez into a 30-goal-a-season striker instead? You'd be able to hear the tantrum from space.
  15. Fabio Carvalho, it's your time to shine.
  16. The Thiago tackle on Rodri was a solid yellow as well.
  17. Yeah, I wasn't expecting it to stand if it had gone in, but I also wasn't expecting the attempt to be THAT bad. I've seen better execution at Sunday League level.
  18. The biggest WTF about him getting the Liverpool job is that FSG actually spoke to him in person and still offered him the job. Reckon it'd take me about five seconds to realise he was a wanker, my skin crawling as soon as he started speaking would be the biggest clue.
  19. I know it's been ruled out but I'd honestly try Trent in midfield for a few games after his injury. We need legs and stamina in there, and it'd take away his shocking positional play from the defence. Leave Gomez at right back for a bit.
  20. A decent lady who spent millions of pounds of taxpayers' money settling a case for her nonce son. Been done already a million times this, I'll leave it there.
